  1. Angelo henriquez might finally get some games, did well on loan last year, he won the Croatian league and the copa America

The only player they are really linked to is Kane for £40m, if that happens it shows just how stupid English football has become

Angelo has signed for Dynamo permanently, don't rate him myself anyway.

van Persie hasn't been sold yet either.

  2. Was Downing supposed to be poor last season? I thought he was great every time I saw him play which was probably 7-8 times. I don't agree with him losing his legs, he might not have quite the pace he used to have but he is still fast enough and he usually played in a #10 role last season anyway and he was very effective. He got twice as many goals + assists as any of your players last season bar Benteke. He is almost 31 but he should have a couple years left in him yet. If you can get him for 5-7m I think it would be a good buy.

Sure you could throw that at a foreign player who could turn out better but they could easily turn out a lot worse. You know what you are going to get with Downing and imo that would be one of your best players for a couple of years, especially if he has Benteke to work with.

What happened to that Croatian guy Leicester signed, y'know the one who got a work permit seemingly on the basis Chelsea wanted him.

y'know the one who is a EU citizen and has a right to work freely across the EU. Chelsea wanting him has absolutely nothing to do with it. The UK applies transitional restrictions to movement so he would have to apply for registration but there would be no grounds to not allow him to work in the UK.

It was more given what Dyke was saying about tightening the work permit restrictions so we don't get mediocre foreign talent blocking Nick Powell and Tom Lawrence's route into Leicester's first team. ;)

I accept clubs will still find ways round it.

That was only a proposal and wouldn't be coming into effect closer to 2020, if approved. Either way that would have no affect on Kramaric as Dyke can not change EU laws. Although I would give anything to see Tom Lawrence playing.

IN fairness to Dyke his plans are not really going to have an effect on players playing at the moment it will be for young players coming through but its been said before that English football and this also affects Ireland is being damaged from a young age.

The Premier League is about huff and puff players and not skill (which in fairness is slowly changing) e.g Lee Cattermole wouldnt get a game in the top 4 divisions of Spain yet I saw some English media calling for an England call-up last season.

How many top class skillful technical players have England produced since maybe 1995 as 20 years as a fair example. Scholes, Beckham, Rooney, Ashley Cole, Rio and arguably Joe Cole. Compare that to other teams in same international bracket like France, Spain or even Netherlands

Too many ruined by signing for big clubs and then seeing their development stagnate because of lack of game time - Downing, Young, Rodwell, Sinclair etc. Granted nowhere near top class technical players but tons of squandered potential there.

Downing and Young aren't even close to getting a lack of game time. Downing made 40+ appearances both seasons at Liverpool. Young gets loads of game time too and would get even more if he didn't have constant injuries. Rodwell and Sinclair, yes, but Downing and Young got/get plenty of time at their big clubs.

It's reported Nzonzi ... wants to play champions league football

    tumblr_n88lpasKof1qgr036o8_r1_250.gif
Well, I'm sure he could if he were to move to a club in Turkey or Holland
Just listening to talk sport and that plonker Durham is suggesting that England should claim him if France don't want him.

That gif was me for 5 mins, before I had a word with myself and switched over to planet rock.

It never fails to amaze me how these pundits and journalists can't seem to understand such basic rules.

  7. Of course defenders will have an affect on shot to save ratio. If the defenders are leaving gaps through the middle and allowing space in the box then more shots will come from closer central areas which will be harder to save. If defenders force players wide and to shoot from distance then there is obviously a better chance of saving those shots.

  8. Nick Powell's completely disappeared off the radar, he went to Leicester start of season and barely featured.

He came back to United around January/February and has been injured. He isn't a run all day work your socks off donkey so he didn't fit in with Nigel Pearson. He's been unlucky with injuries too. Needs to really find his position and just get some playing time under his belt. I think he's got some real ability, its just where do you play him and I think that is a problem. I hope we don't flog him off just yet but he might have to go back down to the Championship for a loan.

  9. I've browsed a lot of club forums for players that United send on loan and Leicester fans have to be the biggest bunch of idiots and clearings in the woods I've come across. Bloody hate them. It pains me that my favourite player plays for them too. Well I say play but he doesn't even get to play the pricks.

  10. Still don't know why Moore and Gibson are playing. Not sure why Dier isn't in the squad either, unless he is injured it is baffling to leave him out.

I would have left Lingard in too, he is regularly one of the best players in the side along with Redmond. I like Carroll but I think he is better deeper than in a number 10 role so I would have taken him out with Lingard or Pritchard playing central. May need to throw Ings in there for the second half.

  11. There is no point taking these competitions 'seriously', getting our players tournament experience when we entrust the development of our future players to clearings in the woods like Southgate, Pearce, Taylor, Boothroyd, Platt and all the other yes men clearings in the woods.

Shocking line-up, shocking game plan, shocking substitutions.

Turgid garbage, but hey, Southgate isn't going to rock the boat so happy days.

You clearly don't watch the u21s. Southgate has been fantastic, that was their first loss in something like 14 matches and they play fantastic stuff. Comparing Southgate to Pearce is ridiculous.

  12. Reached a deal for Mandzukic. That is a good signing for me. He should do better than Falcao.

They still need another center back in my opinion and if they lose De Gea, who could they get to replace him? Maybe a cash + Casillas swap for De Gea?

Where did you hear this? I haven't even seen him linked to us properly.

Otamendi sounds like it could be on and his agent has said he wants out of Valencia. Valencia want the buy-out price though and we think its too much.

We're being linked with Lloris but I can't see Levy selling to us. I don't want Casillas and I hope we sign someone so Valdes isn't our number 1.

  13.

Every time I watch Michael Bradley play for USA, I always think what could have been if Houllier actually gave him a chance. Bradley is the American Schweinsteiger.

We should really pursue Deandre Yedlin from spurs if they don't want him. He made Blind and Germany's defense look amateur numerous times. I don't understand how Yedlin isn't played more.

Oh also that American goal keeper Guzan is pretty good. We should sign him up.

I watch him play for Toronto last year and for some reason he was taking every set piece.

The guy is absolute toilet, has zero technical ability what so ever. Tries to spray the ball about and it is embarrassing.

I don't know what Toronto matches you are watching but they clearly aren't the same as me. He is anything but toilet and he has great technical ability. He regularly dominates matches for TFC.

  14. If you're looking at the released players then Tom Thorpe would be a good buy. A CB who is great on the ball, a real leader and really consistent. He's captained United to an FA youth cup win, 2 u21 PL wins, an u21 PL final and was apart of the England u17 Euro Cup winners. He has also captained England youth sides.

I still don't understand how he never got a chance, miles better than Blackett who only got a chance because he is left footed and much more proven than McNair, although McNair ha made great progression over the last 2 years. Thorpe always impressed me more than Michael Keane for the u21s as well. I think he is good enough to give Clark and Okore some competition straight away although most managers would be hesitant with his lack of first team experience. You never know with Sherwood though. Could even give him a year loan in the Championship.

As a big fan of Thorpe's I just hope he gets to play next year, we've dicked him around and he has been unfortunate with an injury or two which has really held him back from taking that next step he was ready to make over 2 years ago.

The only downside is he has donned the blue of Birmingham City.

Centre back: Smalling (Man Utd), Evans (Man Utd), Heintz (Kaiserslautern), Keogh (Derby)

Left back: Willems (PSV), Friend (Boro)

Centre forward: Mitrovic (Anderlecht), Gignac (Marseille), Max Gradel (St Etienne), Bamford (Chelsea), Rhodes (Blackburn), Austin (QPR)

    Would be nice to improve areas;

    Goalkeeper: Heaton (Burnley)

Right back: Sam Bryam (Leeds United), Kierian Trippier (Burnley), Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal loan)

Central midfield: Dennis Praet (Anderlecht), Rudy (Hoffenheim), Caroll (Spurs), Hughes (Derby),

Winger: Serge Gnabry (Arsenal), Joel Campbell (Arsenal), Townsend (Spurs), Sako (wolves/free), Pritchard (Spurs)

You'll be waiting a long time if you think you have any chance of signing Smalling. He is our number 1 CB and has even been handed the captaincy in the absence of Rooney and Carrick. Arsenal are always trying to take him off us as well, there is no chance you'll be going anywhere near him. Evans would be more likely and would be a fantastic signing for you but even then he has been linked with better clubs and would likely prefer a Europa League club. Dennis Praet is way too optimistic as well, he is simply to good for you. Gnabry would be a loan at best, Arsenal aren't going to get rid.

Ahem, better 'teams' you mean, not better 'clubs' ;)

    You're right, changed it.

  17. What was the reason that he didn't actually go to Everton before we got him on loan? I mean he was dead set on going there until he had to use us as a back up. If a club did that to me I'd tell them where to stick it.

You offered 7m which we accepted but Tom wanted to go to Everton who offered 5m but we rejected that. We then wouldn't let him go to Everton on loan either so he went to you. Everton wouldn't match your offer so we didn't let him go to Everton. I think we've got a bit of a sour relationship with Everton over the whole Moyes and Fellaini stuff so we weren't willing to give Everton a little deal.

I'm a massive Manchester United fan so thought I'd let you all know we are signing Ronaldo and Bale this summer. Ronaldo loves United and Bale loves Giggs.

    And your point is?

That I actually have no clue about the United's transfers and neither does the guy aboves Everton mad mate know anything about Everton's signings.

I've seen similar posted before and it makes me laugh, as if being a massive fan with a season ticket somehow gives you inside information to transfer dealings.

  19. Commentator kept saying how poor he was and he was poor but I don't know why he was being singled out, if anything I think he was the best of a bad lot other than Richardson. Things weren't working for him but at least he was trying to take men on, drive through and force things. I couldn't see anyone else trying to take any sort of responsibility at all.
