  1. Time to give this guy yet another chance (when he's fit). We all know he's an inconsistent and all round sulky clearing in the woods who only plays well once in every 5 games. But I'd take that over Weimann.

Wiemann for me every time, but N'Zogbia for Tonev - yes.
Weimann hasn't shown true form since he signed that fat new contract. Looked ok against liverpool last week but I haven't seen much else in a year.
  2. i think lambert sees something really special in this guy got a feeling the reason why he aint playing him yet is cuz the pressure on these players in this league is crazy and strikers can be very tempramental in terms of their confidence so if he does come in and have a stinker then his confidence will be shot.

got a feeling he is being blooded in very slowly. didnt the same thing happen with weiman we brought him from rapid vienna young striker but last season only truely became a regular.

Well no. Weimann was signed as a 16 yr old on a youth contract.

  3. If this goes down to transfer deadline day I hope we have moved on to another target or at least have a plan B on the day because if we end up after Janurary having secured just 2 loans it will be a disaster of a window.

  4. Not as bad as people calling Hoolahan "Houlihan"

    Or Kozak "Kovak".

Houlihan is the more common way of spelling the name in Ireland though so can see how it gets mixed up, Hughton and Houghton are completely different names.

  5. Lescott was the guy Lambert referred to when he said he "nearly fell of his chair" when inquiring about wages. City don't cover a proportion of the wages when they loan players out, which is bonkers considering.

I thought it was Zaha as he said he was astounded a young player could be on so much.

  6. just sell him back to Sheffield and go buy that Cresswell chap. Wait.. was he a right back or left back? Either way.. go get someone else.

Sheffield UNITED. Sorry to pick on you but this has been annoying me since the third round draw on here, there's more than one team in Sheffield!

maybe he wants to sell him to the city itself

Or the Sheffield team itself, can't remember what league they in but they are supposedly the oldest football club.
Sheffield FC, founded 1857 and recognised by FIFA as the oldest club in the world. Play in the NPL division one south.

Interestingly (well not really) Lowton actually spent a season on loan with Sheffield Fc while a youngster at Sheffield Utd.

  7. Why would there be any transfer news today?

Someone tell me otherwise but i can't remember the last time we signed a player on a matchday?

We may not actually sign someone today but for example the Grant Holt news broke first during the middle of the Arsenal game and was confimed by Lambert in the post game interview.
  8. Has holt come in to replace benteke?

I'd be amazed if Bertrand has come in to be cover to Luna like Holt.

It seems Lambert can do no wrong again. If he's got a limited budget then he needs to make better decisions. I'm not expecting him to get everything right but you can't excuse massive gaps in the squad while still replacing areas of the squad where Lambert has previously signed 6 players to play in them.

There's nothing concrete to suggest that Bertrand is now replacing Luna, not least because it's just a loan.

Who said Lambert can do no wrong?

Well he seems to have no responsibility for poor signings and his main supporters seem to have little issue with performances or results. So I'd be interested to hear what they think he does do wrong as you rarely read it.

I haven't seen anyone on here claim he doesn't have any responsibility for poor signings.

Not sure what you mean by "his supporters". I wasn't aware that having a different opinion to you on results and performances automatically made someone a "Lambert supporter".

It's on here quite a lot, I just think some people choose to ignore it.

As a Lambert supporter I'm referring to those who still have faith in him and believe we will succeed in the future under Lambert. Not trying to be funny or insulting.

I'm fully aware of the difficult constraints but I don't feel you can continue to use that as an excuse when he continues to bring in players in positions he's already bought at least 2 players for.

I think Bertrand is a good signing, not a big fan of loans but now you have to question how money has been spent.

You need two options for every position.

Bennett and Kozák have long term injuries so Lambert had brought in short term replacements to see out to the end of the season.

    Nothing wrong with that.

In the pics of Holt on the OS of his first training I'm pretty sure Bennett is in some doing the training as well.

  9. Glad to have him on board but if there is no option to buy it will be very disappointing.

Always look for the negatives lads; always look for the negatives.
Just do5nt want another Walker situation that's all. Relax.

Can we loan more players? Or is the 2 loans exclusive to the players coming from other premier league clubs?

  10. If it's Dann as expected....

Great - we need a central defender and have always felt this should be the number one target area. A little disappointed it's a Championship standard player, but when you can only afford Championship standard wages, and Championship standard fees then that's all we're going to get. Unless we get a surprise.

Dann is on prem wages though. 30-35k from all the reportd I've seen.
