  1.

Our only wins in the last 15 games are against teams in the bottom 3 (Leicester / Palace).

We'll be fine when our best players come back. Oh....

    its worrying isn't it.

Yes especially when we lost to WBA and QPR and couldn't beat Burnley and Blunderland

  2.

I really don't understand some criticism.

Spurs performance was brilliant, we should have won that game by 2 or more goals and we would have won but for Bentekes sending off.

Then at West Ham it was stop the rot at all costs. We simply had to get a point from that game.

Then we have Southampton, who have won 9 or their past 10 games. We are missing loads of players and not a man on this site would not have taken a 1-1 before the match.

Yet, the moaning goes on and on...

If you can explain to me how 3 years on , the last 2 performances were better than what we saw under McLeish, then I might change my critisicm.

This summer was his only real chance to bring in the level of player he wanted. But unfortunately Lambert hasn't had the chance to get his team on the pitch. I think our best 11 are a top 10 side. Period.

What I want from Villa fans (which I know is impossible) is to accept that

    A. We will not be relegated this season and

    B. Judge Lambert on the whole season

When we've Benteke, Delph, Vlaar, Senderos playing week in week out with the rest of the team. With hopefully Kozak as an option on the bench. Then we judge his team and their performances.

Weekly moaning is to the detriment of this club, not to its benefit. Our record against teams around our level has been very good this season, our next 10 games are made up of those teams.

Nice in theory BUT - Vlaar is almost permanently injured, Delph is injured and will be gone soon, Senderros eeems also a little injury prone. Kozak 'an option' with a manager like Lambert he will use him t oreplace a full back in the 89th minute!

My concerns are not necessarily about the indiviual players it is the managers total ineptitude in the manner he uses those players. Why did he buy Cole, why his reluctance until his hand was forced to play Okore? A half decent manager should and would get more of a performance out of our lot.

  3. Do deadline day deals ever go through when the player doesn't actually come to the UK? If we're going to sign Canales or Ayew they'd need to be on their way at this stage right?

Why? They have Doctors in Spain and I eve nbelieve they have computers and fax machines :)

  4. Bent looked good when we had Downing and Young t omake chances for him. We don't have that type of player or formation now so he won't fit into the team.

Sell him if possible and replace him if need be however with Weiman, Gabby as back up there is Tekkers and Kozak to come back so questionable we need a replacement.

  5. It could be high on his list of priorities. It's really important after all in terms of marketing, just like any company's insignia is important. If he thinks it's lacking in any way I doubt he waste any time setting out to improve it.

And if he does whatever he comes up with will cause the same splits.

There is only one badge for AVFC and thats the original one displayed on the old Trinity Road - but there are those that think the round one is the only one - divide?

What if on deadline day Utd are panicking because of a lack of options and bid £15m for Vlaar. I think the board would take it and Vlaar would go. Maybe Micah Richards could be a replacement. I know he has played a lot at RB, but I'm sure he has played as a CB as well.

No to Richards as a replacement as his injury record is not good. Would accept 15m for Vlaar though. Could bring in 2 decent players with that.

Not necessarily if it's deadline day

  7. Disapointed in some respects s it still leaves a gap for a football man on the board. We have had top commercial men in before who left (due to MON) so not that surprising a call.

But when will he actually start? Have Arse let him gon immediately, does he work for them for a while, does he have to have a period of 'gardening leave' is there any restriction in what he can do and with whom due to his Arsenal work?

Lots of unanswered ? for me and I don't expect many answers given AVFC track record

  8. If all the rumours were right about Lerner offering Lambert a 10 million pound 'warchest' then we have around 3.5m left to spend.

Anyone available for that price who would want more than £5 a week who can improve our team?

You've forgotten he might be able to reinvest the Vlaar and Delph money once they are sold :)

  9. Faulkner was going t obe given a different role to the one he had been carrying out - he didn't weant it - that is very ver yrelevant to what is going on.

Maybe Smetrov has a point - a consortium who might want their own man and not Randolphs in that role?

  10. Hutton is an attacking fullback who under McLeish never went past the half way line hopefully he'll be allowed to play his normal game this time around. Not sure why he wasn't used more under Lambert even if he wanted the wages gone. Last night was promising as both Lowton and Hutton looked good and Bacuna looked better further forward. Just need the elusive LB now !

The money is on Faulkner being behind the bomb squad hence he goes they are all back
