  1. General,

Just reading through this thread and over a year in and all the original "thanks", "You've Saved Our Club" etc, I really do doubt you realise how much all us villa fans are greatful to yourself, Randy and the team.

The players deserve credit to a degree but the way in which you lads have come in and connected with us fans is really an astonishing achievement and something i never imagined to see in my lifetime as a villa supporter....

The club has been given a new impetous and in all honesty ive been a ST Holder for 12 years and the last year of the previous management was going to be my last - but its all changed now and its more fun for us fans than ever...

As much as you no doubt get complaints through the season , the "why's Martin not signing x and y players", deep down we all have faith in what your all doing and I for one am Proud again to be a villa fan.

Have yourself a well deserved break General and Cheers for all your efforts in making Aston Villa Great again!!! :notworthy:

  2. puts his computer on

    his d*ck comes out

in out in out he shakes it all about

when he gets the ball he makes us scream and shout

    thats what he's all about

    oooooooohhhhhhh we love you ashley

oooooooohhhhhhh loved your goals against the city

oooooooohhhhhhh your skills are really silky

in out in out he scores and makes us shout!!!

  3. I Dont think we can - We Have signed Petrov and Davies Eventually along with Young for around the 8 million mark..... these players are then expected to change the fortunes of the club and make us great again but unfortunatly clubs like Tottenham are spending 16m on Darren Bent Pompey 7m on Nugent etc - they are buying players for the same money who are squad players..

In my eyes were still a level behind some clubs in the transfer stakes and we need to make more educated risks in the transfer market but i do wonder if the money is there as Surely we would of had this right back by now and im never confident of signing the next big thing or a 10m plus player....

  4. I know I might be in the minority when I say this but I actually think Olof Mellberg is a good right back (I'm not saying we should play him there, but he's a very capable deputy - and he did spend his first four years in the Sweden team at right back).

I'm in your club on that one. I think he did a good job when he played there at the start of last season.

However, playing him there would leave us a little thin on centre halves.

he is indeed a capable deputy though, so he can provide the cover for "when" we get ourselves an actual right back ....

Agreed Mellberg is a more than adequate RB

  5. Ok sparky, heres the deal.

Out : Samuel (free), Hendrie (free), DJDJ (0.5 M), Davis (4 M), Ridgewell (2M), McCann (1M), Sutton (released).

Hughes may stay as cover.Delaney offered pay as you play.Olly and Luke to be offered new contracts.Sorensen offered short term deal to fight for his place. I know others have left but not really affecting first team squad.

In : Gordon (6M), Finnan (2M), Ben Haim (free), Reo Coker (8M), Sneijder (10M), Fred (9M).

Money out 35M money in 7.5M Net spend 27.5M

    Squad : Gordon, Sorensen, Taylor.

Defence : Finnan, Mellberg, Laursen, Ben Haim, Cahill, Bouma, Hughes, Delaney, O'Halloran.

Midfield : Young, Petrov, Reo Coker, Sneijder, Barry, Berger, Gardner, Maloney, Osbourne.

Strikers : Carew, Fred, Agbonglahor, Moore.

There you go, a well balanced first team squad. With plenty of youth and experience. Also plenty of players who can cover many positions and would keep a strong first eleven who ever was in.

A feasonable amount of money spent with feasonable exciting and steady new playesr purchased.

    Europe, here we come!

    That would be brilliant!!!

Agreed, Quality Squad with plenty of options.... id just prefer Barton over Reo-c !!

  6. Just had a thought last night after the Milan game. How about Cafu for RB?
if we're talking golden oldies (bear in mind cafu will be 37 by the start of next season) why not philip cocu? classy midfielder, a leader who's done it all at the top level. already announced he's leaving psv, but that could mean he's retiring.

personally i think both would be just a bit too old to adapt to the prem, having never played in the league before and i'm not sure what their motivation to join villa would be, when we're not in europe.

Cafu and Cocu - how about a cheeky bid for Bobby Charlton!!

  7. Just read on the SkySports website that we are linked with Lyon midfielder Kim Kallstrom, perphaps JC has recommended him and maybe he has recommended the club to Kallstrom! Saw him couple of years ago play against England (the same game J'lloyd was on the bench) and he looked awesome, also seen him score and set up some great goals on Eurogoals. I also always sign him on Football Manager 2007 and he is class :)

Even if JC has recommended him to come lets just wait and see what baros tells him...... He loves us :?
