  1. If Milner stays and he is on 30k a week and we have an 80k deal on the table - would he take 50k a week less for a year in his pay packet - thats 2.6 million pounds.

Id like us to say that if he signed that we would honour the 30million buy out clause for the furture and we would get the best out of him for another year!

  2. Whats with the SWP bashing, at last he tries to commit players and take them on unlike a certain Mr Downing we have.

Man City have Ireland,SWP,Richards,Onohua,Bellamy etc all good players who will be shipped out with this 25 man rule.

Id take any of them to be honest and with City wanting Milner its our ideal oppertunity to include as many of these good players as possible in the deal.

  3. Mourinho's signings (if they are indeed Mourinho's) dont seem to fit with the Galacticos (round 2) project that Perez went on about last year. Ive not seen an immense amount of him, but for me, Di Maria was one of the worst players at the world cup.

Di Maria was class in the world cup, apart from one game where the Germans were immense he was top quality.

  4. He is Over-rated as he aint in the same bracket as Messi,Ronaldo or Villa.

But he is a very good player and im convinced he was playing with an injury to which it was the managers choice to take him out the team as it wasnt doing the team any favours.

  5. worth bearing in mind that we are in a position spurs have been in many times. Raided for players over the year. Carrick, Berbatov, Keane. They managed to sell and went on to achieve Champions League. Its just about building a team and reinvesting your money. Milner is good but replaceable.

Good post and nail on the head!!

  6. Why is Hart,Onouha,Bellamy,Ireland for Milner not possible.

Onouha has had a bust up and is linked to a number of teams, Ireland Wants to Leave, Bellamy has been publicised to have conflict with Mancini and Hart is quality but they have Given who is one of the best keepers in the world in my opinion.

I think its very possible if MON was intrested in the players mentioned.

  7. As someone mentioned earlier in the thread Milner for £10m + Ireland + Onouha + Hart would be a brilliant deal.

Then we'd have £10m on top of whatever we get for the outgoing players (Sidwell/ Luke Young/ Shorey seem destined to go) to buy a decent striker.

I don't think Hart would be happy sitting on the bench behind Shay Given next year so if Man City really, really want Milner (and he wants to go), this should be our offer!

Id go one further, Hart+Onouha+Ireland+Bellamy In return for Milner.

We would end up with a replacement for Milner, Good Keeper to take over Brad Friedel for perhaps the next 15 years, Young Quick Right Back to Fight with Carlos for Right back and Bellamy who i think would be perfect up front for us.

Do that deal and i think we would have a stronger starting 11 and squad.

    Sounds good!

Nit-picking.. but is Bellamy worth £10m?

Either way, we'd have a pretty strong squad!

    Hart, Friedel, Guzan

Onouha, Cuellar, Davies, Dunne, Collins, Warnock

Young, Downing, Ireland, Petrov, Delph, NRC

    Delfouneso, Gabby, Bellamy, Carew

(I'm excluding the people I assume could be sold, and adding Heskey because that's my preferred departure!)

That squad looks really good, Milner is good but we would be so stronger with this deal.

  9. We took him on loan when he got no football, tried to sign him from Newky for 4 million but got cancelled and we went back with club record 12 million.

The club as a whole I feel James owes a great deal to with being the player he is today - so reassurances and gratitude to the manager who has put so much faith in should given.

Our club is so much bigger than James Milner, as much as I like him I think if he goes we will get very good money to strenghten and start again.

  10. V111A - you have something against signing youth?

What's wrong with replacing ageing squad players (Bouma/ Shorey/ Sidwell/ Harewood etc) with younger, possibly cheaper, versions that are as good (if not better)?

    Sidwell for Boateng/ O'Hara

    Harewood for Fletcher

    Shorey/Bouma for Richards/ Onouha

    (all rough examples - obviously..)

Youth is good in moderation - we have gabby and fonz up front so experience is essential.

Also the youth has to be impressive and Cattermole aint better than what we already have sitting on the bench
