Sell sell sell. I've suffered Ellis AND Lerner, so I'm not all that fussy who we sell it to.
Change from this stagnation can only be for the best.
Should suffering through Ellis and Lerner not make us more discriminating about who we sell to this time around?

Big one for me in recent times would be Bertrand.
Looked alright in the first few games, then rapidly deteriorated as all our left backs do and goes to Southampton and becomes a very good left back.
I see what you're saying but I would leave him out on the basis that, although he was inconsistent during his time here, I think we would have all liked to keep him

I was having this conversation with someone recently but we were talking about players who basically weren't good enough for Villa at the time of their departure.
James Collins, Stephen Ireland, Phil Bardsley (I know it was a loan but he was awful), Shay Given, Steve Sidwell, Wayne Routledge and Peter Crouch are Premier League footballers, and most of them will be next season I'd imagine.
Myhill/Given
Gardner, Cahill, Collins, Bardsley
Albrighton, Sidwell, Ireland, Davis, Routledge
Crouch

How can he have the best words if every day he's a word removed?

Just stumbled upon this video which I liked on YouTube five years ago. The Browns fans continue to comment "still relevant". It's still relevant to us too. Cheers Randy!

In my opinion Baker and Okore are our two Best defenders.
I read this and thought, "What the **** is this guy smoking?" But then I actually went through our defenders and realised you were right.
How upsetting.

Looks nice but over 90 minutes he's a big overhead to carry in a league that's direct and frantic.
I think direct and frantic describe his style of play fairly well actually.

Yeah but that's usually when the footballer in question is good and an asset to the club.
Gabby is neither. He's stealing a living at the moment.
I agree that he's almost certainly finished here but I'd be surprised if he didn't get another chance elsewhere, probably somewhere above his station again.

Footballers have done far worse things and been given far more chances.

If it is Pearson I think the club could make a killing by selling t-shirts at the last home game - NP in sunglasses arms folded (Arnie Style) "Well be Back"
Forget making a killing the club should give em away for the dross we weve watched recently....
Yeah that's a good money-making idea. Because I would absolutely buy every last one of those t-shirts and strap them and myself to a rocket and have it launched into the middle of the sun.
At this stage I'd take any other candidate over Pearson. Even Bruce, whom I also hate
-
If I hear one more person say "Yeah but he's good in the air..."
He's bad at everything, even winning headers. He wins about 5% of his headers from our goal kicks/long free-kicks from the back and the ones he does win are invariably misplaced.
Muck.

I think Mick McCarthy seems like an alright guy. Not sure what evidence there is to suggest otherwise?
-
Bruce, Pearson and Dyche are all c***s. I would hate to see them at Villa Park. Pearson especially.
I really fail to see how anyone could look at that list and not choose Moyes. I have my doubts about whether or not he'd take the job but he's head and shoulders above the other supposed contenders.

Has he apologised?
I mean to me, specifically.

I'm sad. I feel very sad.

Not one for blaming refs but I thought the officials were appalling tonight.

Sanchez has been simply woeful since he arrived.
Really? I thought he was doing relatively okay this season. He was our best player against Palace and we fell apart when he was taken off. And last night he looked like the only Villa player actually doing his job. He's only started five league games. Was he that bad in his other appearances?
I think our back five is the main issue at the moment. Richardson is horrendous. Given last night's performance I really can't see him having a role under Garde. Amavi has to play. Lescott is a liability and Ciaran Clark has had enough chances now I'm afraid. He just isn't up to it. Hopefully Okore can stay fit and get back in the team. Hutton is Hutton. I know RB isn't Bacuna's best position but at least he's comfortable on the ball, which hopefully will be important in the new manager's system. Guzan is a mess but what can we do?
Micah Richards is the only reliable defender at the club right now. Which is funny considering how worried we were about him playing at CB.
And I'm so sick of pundits calling Gestede a handful. He can attack a cross but that's literally all he's done since he got here. He's not even that good in the air. He almost never wins flick-ons from our goal kicks. I can't name a defender he's played against who hasn't bossed him; Smalling and Dann completely dominated him. Calling him a handful is just another example of lazy ex-pros talking s*** when we all know they don't actually watch Villa games.
I don't know whose fault it was that we let the transfer window close without signing a proven goalscorer but I fear it could cost us.

Didn't he have three women pregnant at the same time at one stage?

Have people not seen this in the Irish Times?
Jack's dad says the reports are untrue.
“There is nothing in that report whatsoever,” insisted Kevin Grealish. “No decision has been made by Jack yet. He hasn’t even played much football this season because of injuries.”

NOT MORE BUY BACK TALK

FFS Gabby. That attempted cross, the terrible attempted finish, the terrible foul in a dangerous area... He's been a professional footballer for over a decade and he still looks like a sprinter playing in a charity game.
Sanchez has been great. Grealish is a joy to behold. Richards and Clark looking solid enough too.
Aston Villa Protest Group

The commentator actually spoke about the inflatables coming on to the pitch but never said why.
He also said something along the lines of "The Villa fans are making noise for once," but again made no reference to the protest or to reasons behind the atmosphere.
