  1. Tbh, it was an exciting game to watch. Im absolutely devasted but I think we performed well. Vienna are a good side.

I thought Shorey was really excellent tbh, fair play to him. Young, Milner, Delph, Davies, Cuellar. I dont think anyone did much wrong. MON should of bought on Reo-Coker for the lump that is Heskey.

We lost, im gutted, we're all gutted but we have alot of positives I think.

  2. Hangon a minute, name me one person on here who said when we signed Cuellar it was nothing short of a quality signing. This bloke was immense for Rangers.

So after playing right back last season, doing really well in pre-season and now 1 game where the whole team was crap he is suddenly an absolute joke of signings.

I dont usually post on here but reading some of the crap some of you spout I cannot help it, some posts are not a differing opinion they are just absolute mindless drivel.

  3. Anyways Everton got beat 6-1 and looked even more pathetic.

Do you think Evertonians want Moyes out now? And they had a great end to their season.

What Everton fans do or don't think is of very little interest to me. I dare say I'll find out in the office tomorrow, as I work with a million of the buggers, but we have enough problems of our own without worrying about them.

Another team playing badly and getting stuffed is of little comfort to be honest.

As do I work with a million of em, not as bad as the redscouse though ffs! Atleast we have some affinity with the blue half !

  4. Do you think Evertonians want Moyes out now? And they had a great end to their season.

That's the whole point. We had a disasterous end to the season.

Last season was last season, we ended badly due to the fact we started in July, we lost our centre back and captain.

I know obviously the centre back situation hasnt been sorted but I 100% guarantee it will before Sept 1st.

In pre-season did we play good football against good opposition? Yes we did, the team is capable, and last season cannot be used as an excuse and its getting on my moobs that people keeping going on about it.

We messed up yesterday, we will not play like that next game I assure you.

The new season has started, us and everton the most alike teams around have had awful starts, I have every faith this will not continue. We will look back evaluate and improve.

We really do need Shorey gone though asap and an assured centre back its 100000% more important than a marquee signing like Sneijder or VDV.

Id quite happily see us spend the rest of our budget on a top quaity centre back or two.

  6. Also if we do actually think about the good handfull of games we lost last season at the end, its not asif we were playing badly. We played well but just didnt have the energy left to kill games off. Its not asif we have been playing as bad as yesterday since the turn of the year.

There is very few of the bad run of games we had were I thought we were absolutely abysmal. This is a new season, a bad start admittedly, a few players short yes, but please hold back and see what position we are when the transfer window is closed atleast.

  7. To suggest MON should be sacked is a **** joke and anyone suggesting it should be ashamed. I mean seriously last week after pre-season we were world beaters, one bad performance and some shakey performances its the end of the world. Its not its a 2-0 loss to good side Wigan.

Its not ideal but get some f'ing perspective.

'We're not fickle, we just dont like you' No we are just fickle and its an absolute embarrassment.

So..out of curiousity..do you think we have a strong squad? Do you like the way we play? I am now talking about competitive games from last season second half and until yesterday. How can you say that Villa fans are fickle after watching the club fail BIG in many PL games...and also failing quite considerable to improve the squad with quality signings?

I am amazed that someone can defend it...I really am.

I think we should change the formation, I think we are 3 players short of a good squad, I am not happy and I want MON to take control of the situation.

But I also have a better memory than some clearly, I dont think he is the messiah I am not apologising for the stupid stuff he does.

But what im saying is to suggest a manager, a manager that saves us from the brink of relegation should be sacked after 1 game THIS season is a joke.

We tailed off last season, we all know, stop barking on about it. I think the fact we started last season in July has a big factor on that.

What happened to fresh season, fresh start. Thats what I see, our pre-season form was good, we played good football, we beat big teams.

MON made some massive mistakes yesterday, but too often us Villa fans jump the gun, its embarrassing.

Getting rid of MON after a bad game against a good wigan side would destroy us, not because MON is a god-send but the players we have that are decent would want out, the fans would be in uproar and a new manager would have no time to make his own signings.

What we need is a player like Distin and a decent left back and a change back to 4-5-1, I trust this will happen.

People just seriously need to get a grip. Because in 10 games time when were playing good football and winning games you'll all be positive again.

I hand you all back your dummies and I look forward to the next game.

  9. I gotta say looking at the suggestions it really strikes me how much we need Laursen & Barry, or atleast sufficient replacements.

    Friedel

    Beye

    Cuellar

    Distin

    Bouma/Warnock

    Milner

    Petrov

    Sneijder

    Delph

    Young

    Carew

Lets hope its abit more like that sooner rather than later

  10. Well I just watched some youtube clips of Nakamura, he actually looks very good. Left winger, something in which we need.

Very skillfull and yeah clearly got a mean free kick on him. £7-8 mill id be happy with.

Cant wait to see who we have signed by the end of the transfer window. Sneijder is still the absolute signing for me mind.

  11. Ok sparky, heres the deal.

Out : Samuel (free), Hendrie (free), DJDJ (0.5 M), Davis (4 M), Ridgewell (2M), McCann (1M), Sutton (released).

Hughes may stay as cover.Delaney offered pay as you play.Olly and Luke to be offered new contracts.Sorensen offered short term deal to fight for his place. I know others have left but not really affecting first team squad.

In : Gordon (6M), Finnan (2M), Ben Haim (free), Reo Coker (8M), Sneijder (10M), Fred (9M).

Money out 35M money in 7.5M Net spend 27.5M

    Squad : Gordon, Sorensen, Taylor.

Defence : Finnan, Mellberg, Laursen, Ben Haim, Cahill, Bouma, Hughes, Delaney, O'Halloran.

Midfield : Young, Petrov, Reo Coker, Sneijder, Barry, Berger, Gardner, Maloney, Osbourne.

Strikers : Carew, Fred, Agbonglahor, Moore.

There you go, a well balanced first team squad. With plenty of youth and experience. Also plenty of players who can cover many positions and would keep a strong first eleven who ever was in.

A feasonable amount of money spent with feasonable exciting and steady new playesr purchased.

    Europe, here we come!

Am I missing something, who the hell is Fred?

Fred is a Brazilian striker playing for Lyon in France. A very skillful striker.

He is one of the latest to be linked with Villa...probably a good friend to Carew. :winkold:

Right, thanks for the info. Sounds good to me, bring on the Fred.

Is this information speculation, or backed by some sort of inside information?
