  1. Don't think I'd take Bellamy now to be honest.

If we are looking at forwards in this country who could be within our range then I suppose you are looking at Doyle, Rodellaga, Ebanks-Blake, Zamora, Carlton Cole, Pavlyuchenko (sic), Piquionne, Fletcher, Davies, Jason Roberts, Kalinic

From this list i'd be interested in, in order of preference:

    Pavlyunchenko

    Cole

    Rodellaga

    Zamora

    Doyle

    Fletcher

I think the Pav would score a lot of goals in our team.

    Pav, Carew

    Gabby, Delfeuonso

    Good forward line their

  2. I've read in loads of threads about the lack of Subs for todays game.

I gotta say, I can't see what else could have been done.

MON did the one that was needed, taking Heskey off as he was offering about as much as a blind man driving a grand prix car.

And to me, the defence did what they should do - keep the ball out.

The midfield did what they needed to do, keep the pressure off the defence and create chances - and I call over 30 chances creative !

The problem is - we have absolutely SOD ALL as an attacking force. He did what he could- bring Carew on.

It's his fault we are in that position - only Martin ONeil knows why he is the only person in Great Britain who believes our forwards are good enough - but for today (bearing in mind NRC was injured - hmmmm ?) I can't see what substitution was going to make a difference

I'd have brought Delph and Delfeuonso on for Petrov and Gabby with 20 minutes to go. Delfeuonso has a canny nack of scoring and we need to give him some prem minutes, and Delph would have added some much needed energy in the middle. Petrov can't play 90 mins every game.

I hope the reason NRC wasn't on the bench is because he is leaving. Sidwell and Gardner should be first.

  3. I hope we go into this 4-4-2 (I'm quite suprised I'm saying this, as I'm normally an advocate of 4-5-1 away from home especially in the big games), but that it how much I want to see Milner have a go at them from the middle.

Heskey/Carew to dominate Carrick in centre defence, and Gabby to outpace a coming back Vidic.

I can see us grabbing a 1-1 draw here.

  4. There's also quite a few bars on the right hand side on the walk down from the station, a weatherspoons etc.

Oyster Bar is great though, good atmosphere and cheap booze, that's where i'll be. There's also a load of christmas markets on around there at the moment if you fancy some mulled wine to warm your cockles.

For those without a ticket, Binary Bar is on the Chester Road (The long main road down to United) and have Sky Sports on a big screen. It's right at the top next to a massive church. About £5 in a taxi from Oyster Bar. Best thing is between 5-9, it's happy hour so it's like £1.50 bottles of any beer (they have peroni, corona, becks etc.). Good for and after the game. It's quite small and off the beaten track, so us Villa could really take over.

  5. From the players we are being linked with, I would say we are looking for 6 players.

    1. A top class GK (Boruc, Gordon)

    2. A top class RB (Young, De Jong)

    3. An emerging CB (Mertesacker)

    4. A top class DM (Reo Coker)

    5. A top class creative midfielder with the ability to play anywhere across the middle (Sneijder, Koumas)

    6. A goalscoring ST who can play both with Carew and replace him when injured (Fred, Bent etc.)

I'd be very happy with this!

  6. i reckon we'll be surprised. again.

top of the list - right back and DM.

I agree with this, but who?!

DM - Barton, Reo-Coker, Sidwell, (Appiah, Muntari etc.)

Barton - Playing wise probably the best but his off field antics are terrible, needs carming down and focusing. Oneill could be the man to do this.

Reo-Coker - Not as good as Barton, but younger so a lot of potential. His fair share of off field trouble, would he upset the dressing room?

Sidwell - Model proffesional, but will he be a one season wonder?

Appiah, Muntari etc. - will they adapt to the premiership?

I'd probably go for Barton, he's the best premiership proven player and I belive O'Neill would do wonders for him! He fits the bill as a Barry quality player, i.e someone who will be knocking on the door of the England squad.

    RB - L.Young, L.Neill, G.Johnson, Geremi

I'd go for G.Johnson due to his potential, however I think Chelsea want him back to then I'd go for Young. Just a tad under a Barry quality player but would be solid down the right.

  7. Quote:

I've read in a few sites in the last couple of weeks that O'Neill is interested in Sneider and Huntelar from Ajax, I dismissed it as ridiculous at first, but I keep seeing it.............

i haven't saw any of those reports

    you got a link?

It was on the bbc gossip page which they get from all the newspapers a couple of weeks back. Also all over the fans gossip pages. Very unreliable I know, but they do get some stuff right!
