  1. SM,

I will pass your words on to Russ. I have asked him to do one thing for all sites....and that is to have a "before" picture of the training ground building as it now looks...and then have the new site to compare against as we move forward. We are making huge progress.

Randy and I depart for UK tomorrow so I will be off site for a few days.

Thanks. Russ did say that the pics would be up today and they are.

I hope that you and your family have a very good Christmas and New Year.

Safe trip tomorrow - no doubt TheTrees will spot your plane again. Now that was funny in the summer!

One of the issues raised at the meeting on Saturday was about the viewing area which is at the far side of the site apparently. Russ did agree to discuss it with the club officials. I know the pitches are not going to be layed until next season at the request of MON but any help to allow the fans to watch the training would be great.

I cannot attend myself but would if you can arrange a supporters day to visit the facilities in the summer.

One thing we discussed after the meeting on Saturday was the possibility of a "home" friendly. Any chance of us arranging a game against Bayern Munich being the 25th anniversary. Could even have an "old Boys" game if Munich are up for it.

  2. William only supports Villa because he chose the name out of a hat at college.

General - Can you thank Russ for us for putting the pics of the Training Ground and Holte Hotel on the official site as he said he would at the Supporters Meeting on Saturday? The work on the training ground looks good so far, albeit I never saw the original.

  3. General Krulak here:

It is the intent of the Club to meet with about 7-10 individuals who are already involved in Fan support (as an example, our leader here at Villa Talk) within the next several weeks and sit down and really dig into what we can do to increase fan participation, communications and support to OUR Club.

Assuming that is you JC, are all Villatalk readers happy for a dodgy hat wearer to represent this excellent website? :winkold:

I think that is an excellent idea to be honest for all the main players on the fans front to get together. We all want the same thing afterall, or at least should do.

  4. Are the people in the know certain that AV06 won't be bidding for the club this week?

I am not sure that I can wait three more days.

It is like waiting for exam results, knowing that you should have passed but you never know for certain.

  5. I don't like the sound of this at all. I've liked everything i've heard and read about Lerner so far, but this name changing rubbish is a no go for me.

I've heard a lot about how Lerner respects history and tradition, and now this.

Sorry Randy but renaming Villa Park is simply not on in my opinion.

He said it is an option, not definite.

Anyway, the Cleveland Browns didn't sell out as their fans didn't want it.

What is to say that he will overule our fans if they don't want it?

Saying that, most respondents do not seem to mind as long as the Holte End does not change.

  6. Perhaps they might like to donate their £30m transfer budget before they allegedly make a bid for the club - being life long Villa fans and all.

That would give MON a bit of cash to spend in August and then Randy and his General can blow AV06 away for good.

Come on Randy! - not long now.

  7. the same questions are getting asked and answered. maybe we should do a sticky to answer them questions?

Good idea - I haven't got time to skim 400 pages.

No broadband here in Norfolk you know, well at least in my village.

  8. It just seems to be wait another 48 Hours, then another few days, another 24 hours, a day or two more, etc.

Now the bidders are getting slated by various sources.

It would nice to hear some real news rather than i think this might happen or my source said.

Okay, some of you may have real sources but some appear made up.

  9. On a slightly different bit of this, I notice the share price is at its lowest for nearly a year

Here's one for the Malc knockers to refer to at a later date :)

the share price is likely to rise in the very near future on the back of two new bids.

Do you think that Malcolm is a really a multi-billionaire businessman from the Middle East, South America or Norwich?

Its much simpler than that sm.

I have a pack of Tarot cards :)

Then perhaps you can tell Ellis's immediate fortune for him with a "death" card. :winkold:

  11. Hang on - we have signed a proven Premiership player who scored 10 goals for a relegated team last season and missed several matches through injury. He cost us £1m - peanuts.

He will be third choice striker after DV and JPA. We need goalscorers. You cannot make players join us - we are not attractive in that we are not in Europe or play in London.

You also want Luke Moore to advance. He now knows that he has a good chance of a regular game in a few years if he proves good enough - which he hasnt to me yet.

We have a crop of young players but very few in their thirties. We need experience. Philips is a natural goal scorer and I wouldnt be surprised if he did not finish leading goal scorer next year.

Yeah, a short-term move but a sensible one in my opinion.

Philips for £1m or Bellamy/Beattie for £6m. I would go with the former anyday.

  12. Hang on, I dont think Cole and Drogby should be counted. They were never our players.

If you are counting them, then you should count Cahill as he returned from loan and DOL said he will make a decision in pre-season about whether we keep him in our squad or loan him out again.

Hitz has gone for nothing. There will be no tribunal payment.

    Net:

    2 in (Hughes and Berger)

    1 out (Hitz)
