I've read a lot of 'only leave in a box' comments on this thread and i think they may be spot on, but not because of elies digging in his heels, rather that he's on his last legs. Could the hold up with the takeover be down to the fact that ellis is too ill to negotiate at the moment? hence the appointment of the bankers?

If elies didn't want to sell he wouldnt, and he wouldnt even entertain the idea, just as he hasn't for many years up to now. he wants to sell cos quite frankly he's almost dead. It sounds to me like he is extremely ill and is having very little involvement at the moment in the day to day running of the club, which is why the board are tying up kit deals and appointing rothchilds. This is just my take because I dont know what goes on in the boardroom. but the uses of words 'evidence' and 'facts' on this site in the absence of anything like hard facts is laughable

And a bit of compensation for him would be lovely..........

I've come to a decision. However rare it may be in these scenario's I'm staying positive. If the Comer's haven't put up enough cash then **** 'em more fool them. If they cant see something special when they see it then how can they be trusted to handle players any better than ellis does. If this forces them to dig deeper then great, fine, this brinkmanship isn't uncommon. But more likely, Doug's gonna lose out cash wise i'd have thought, and maybe an investor will come out of the woodwork, and Aston Villa will get the the kind of ownership it deserves! I don't care where he's from, (scrub that, he can't come from small heath) i dont care if he's made his money by ill means, all I want is a winner who enjoys a challenge!
