  1. We want 18M for Gareth Barry and Liverpool are the only club willing to pay anything remotely close to that sum.

He is currently unfit and not even in our team for the Intertoto draw against Odense.

Liverpool are in no rush to get him, they have superior players in Gerrard and Mascherano, as well as Lucas who is a good player.

Does MON think he can wait around and still get 18M come late August?

Scenario: Liverpool doesn't bid and we have a very unhappy Barry in August, what will happen then???

  2. Nobody's jealous 'ey?

I know I'm not. Next you'll be telling people here they are jealous of SHA because they don't like them. I know you like Manu, but you'll have to learn to live with the fact that plenty of Villa fans don't, just like plenty don't like Chelsea or Liverpool or West Ham or Baggies or pretty much any team of note.

I was talking about the attempts of making jokes with Thailand and Malaysia or whatever, when we both know that:

    a) having fans there is good for the club - income

    B) it means the club is successful - trophies

= Don't we want these two things?

  3. Did you really just give me instruction on how to shave? Surprised

I didn't write it down to make you look like a fool, so you can remove that smiley if you may.

I did it just to help you, because I know a lot about it and it's not a secret that most men

suck at taking care of their daily routines.

A friend of mine put on shaving foam on his skin without even putting water on first, then he

started to shave immediately and raped his face up and down before looking like a bloody mess.

No wonder why people get scratches, nicks and cuts ey? Hot, shave, cold - that's the drill

  4. Rocafella, thanks for your effort, but your routine is almost identical to mine. I use specialized products including oil. The only thing I haven't tried is something other than a Gillette razor, but it's the only one available to me. I considered buying an old-school gear, but it was very expensive, given that I wasn't sure if would help at all.

Basically the only thing that works for me is to shave as rarely as possible, and instead use a scissor to trim it down.

Gillette are actually very good, but the Mach3 blades are better than the new ones. They might feel better there and then, but like I tried to explain, a good shave is visible the day after and not only right after you have done it :)

  5. I have similar problem Ryan. When I shave my skin looks very healthy, but after about a day I get lots of bumps (small red spots with transparent fluid in them caused by the hairs irritating the skin) and after a couple of days I get hairs that are stuck in the follicle and cause the follicle to close and produce icky stuff to get rid of the hair. If I don't shave everything is as it should be.

Then learn to shave properly and buy better products, as you obviously need it.

Shaving is not the same as putting on foam and shave it off with a razor, well it is, but then you get the problems mentioned above.

    1) Take a shower

    2) Scrub your face and throat

    3) Put on gel (foam isn't as good), oil, both or whatever and let it wear for 3 minutes.

    4) Then shave with the root's direction, and only one way as the doing it up and then down leaves a smooth result, but also grown-in hair which causes a mess the day after

(so a good shave is not the one where you can stroke up and down with your fingers and feel only smooth skin.... like I said, awesome at the time but pain tomorrow!)

    5) When finished, and this is the most important step for many, rinse with cold water.... because when your skin it hot and your pores are open it is also irritated after shaving so bacteria can easily get in and cause acne, more irritation, red marks and burns etc...... cold water... alfa omega =)

  6. 2. Tomaszk: Obviously, I do not feel I am naive. Perhaps the one that is naive is Rocafella. Does he expect us to handcuff Barry to a stand to keep him at Villa?? Simply put, we will do ALL in our power to keep him in claret and blue!! If he goes, we will bargain hard!! Both Randy and I have had years of experience bargaining....if I can cut a good deal with Richard Branson, I feel I am pretty good. Randy, obviously, has cut deals across both the sports world and financial world.

Dear general, it was not meant to question you as a negotiator or professional at this club, I merely think the comments were a bit naive. Why? Because little or nothing comes out of this club except from MON; and when someone like yourself comment on something the media will take the comments and make headlines accordingly just as it pleases them. You telling us that the we will not have a player against his will is enough for them to write we have given up on him, easy as that. In my humble opinion, the club should have said the player was not for sale at left it there for them to bid even more in the future. I have seen this numerous times before, the player is expected to leave and if you can keep him at the club then you will again surprise me with brilliant actions. If not, then no hard feelings to the board as long as you hang on for a good deal. We should be the winners here and not Liverpool, well financially that is :)

  7. What annoys me the most is that he goes by this "tough, hard, English, fight till thou die" image and it's just so incredibly lame when he often goes down like a bitch.

I love the video from the Euro Champs in 2004 when Ronaldo of all "tackles" Gerrard and signals a dive to the ref.... hilarious!

  8. Being Bond is not all about looks, it's about character and the charisma as well (but of course..)

    1) Sean Connery is the right thing to say, and anyone who doesn't know the films that well will claim he is the best. Was the first one, but the movies were so and so really. This was the early 60's

    2) Roger Moore is my favorite, because of his very own style. Quick replies as well bringing the ski-scenes to the Bond world. Lasted the longest as well, 7 movies

    3) George Lazenby - horrible

    4) Timothy Dalton - worked better but didn't quite have the looks or the charisma, plus his films were to inspired of the 80's and Miami Vice drug world

    5) Pierce Brosnan - the ultimate gentleman who makes suits look marvelous and he is a womanizer to the bone. Wish I look like that when I'm 50!

    6) Daniel Craig - The new Bond and I like him, although he doesn't look any good. But he has the fighting skills and dresses the role with ease.

It's like comparing modern footballers with Maradona and Pele you know, the former always wins ;)

  9. Liverpool will finish 4th, Everton will finish 5h,

then there is Aston Villa, Manchester City and Portsmouth for the next positions.

Behind there is Spurs, Blackburn and West Ham.

Everton probably have the best machinery and they have some profiles in their team.

Man City have obvious problems and I think we can catch them, Portsmouth have gotten

a superb addition in Jermain Defoe and depending on their program they can catch us, they

4 points behind us and it makes us favouries. Blackburn shouldn't be a problem because

their squad is thin and are too dependent on Roque and Bentley. West Ham might cause

problems but I expect them to hit a rough patch with little 3 pointers, but if Bellamy can hit

form when he returns they might do well. They are 5 points behind us with one game in hand.

Spurs have 14 games left and 13 points behind, that should be too much but you never know

in this game at all. If we win at Fulham in the weekend and they lose to Man Utd I am pretty

sure we will take them. Saying that, I was kind of sure West Ham was going to relegate last

    season!

    1. Man Utd

    2. Chelsea

    3. Arsenal

    4. Liverpool

    5. Everton

    6. Aston Villa, Portsmouth or Man City

    9. Tottenham or West Ham

Thinking about it, 6th is very possible if we can win some home games and avoid losing to Pompey and West Ham away, even winning those games.

  10. Thing is, his player said he didn't touch it and the videos are inconclusive. To be honest, I think they show more of a header than a handball.

Not that I care much, but the dude has a point and he knows he is getting **** in the league by Arsenal and United so he has to find excuses;)

  11. We have gone forward no doubt about it, we have gotten a few good players in Young, Carson (loan) and Carew. We have also gotten a few mediocre ones in Reo-Coker and Petrov. We have had many poor ones such as Harewood, Knight, Bardsley, Agathe, Sutton, Maloney and such players (regardless). Remember, we have in a position where we have to catch up, with many years. No doubt we are going forward, but it's going slow. In honest opinion, MON could have done much better in the transfer market, both in terms of quality and the amount of players.

  12. Regarding our transfers under MON and after Lerner took over I would say pretty much everyone is feeling a bit down about it.

We have brought in a few classy players and a bunch of mediocre ones. Taken us forward, yes no doubt, but in my opinion certainly

not as far as he could have taken us. Progression will always be, well, progression, but as other teams build faster or equally quick

we will always be a horses' head behind, as well as five behind the big teams.
