  1. Atletico Madrid have both Maxi Rodriguez and Martin Petrov? Damn, that's tight.

Martin Petrov is a great, great player on his day, but he wouldn't leave the Spanish league

for the Premiership just like that. He has grown acustomed to it and he certainly wouldn't

handle the rough and tough wingers like C. Ronaldo and Aaron Lennon get over here.

I imagine him being everything from 27 - 29 years old, and right now A. Madrid are

lightyears better than us so why would he leave...

Lerner has said there is money available without spelling out how much, which is genious

given the automatic sour in prices funds tend to give.

    GK: Ok for now

RB: Must buy (but I don't know who)

LB: Wayne Bridge (if we don't go for him we are stupid, he is English and world-class)

CB: I don't know, maybe if we could get our hands on a player clearly better than what we've got

LM: Maybe not, we can't put Barry elsewhere other than LB, so it had to be either LB or LW.

RM: James Milner clearly on his way I think. Maybe we could to better?

CM: Davis not doing too well, Petrov is a starter. McCann not good enough for the next level I think. Shout: Nolan

ST: Miro Klose (nah, I've given up on him) but I think (and know) Angel's never gonna be a world-beater.

We need numbers as well, and probably we need to get rid of the freeloaders such as Djemba-Djemba, Hendrie,

Samuel and Berger. I know it's harsh, but look into your own closet.

Do you have clothes in there which you NEVER use? I do, I have tons of shit in there I never use.

Why don't we just get rid of it and buy a totally new D&G wardrobe ;)

  2. Rocafella in all honesty.

A few of his posts sort of come across as not understanding/realising the history of the club, what we have had who we are today etc etc.

    just my opinion

    Fair enough.

I am only 21 and didn't see McGrath play that much of course.

So I'm sorry for interfering with your perfect picture of him.

Other that that, anything else you would like to point out?

  3. Playing a completely different position on the other side of the field? Why not just suggest he takes Ridgewell's place or Sorensen's?

He can play left or central. Davis is central.

How many Man Utd reserve games have you watched? I'll assume it has to be a hell of a lot, as Phil Bardsley has started 12 games in his career thus far. Half of them for Burnley.

Which of his three performances for either Man Utd or Rangers has convinced you that he will walk into our team?

Ferguson says he's going to be great. This comes from the person who has a little know-how when it comes to youth-players.

Let's not make a big deal out of this please.

  4. No no, Bardsley would never take Mellberg's place. He'd EASILY go before Hughes and Delaney though.

Do you really think Mellberg is going to play right back for the rest of the season? Think again, he hates it.

Richardson has been pretty poor this season, and Barry has been pretty good. Richardson would in my opinion walk into

our team taking Davis' place. Davis has been poor concidering my expectations before this season.

  5. Do we really want to become the new Chelsea?

When Chelsea lifts the title 95% of all fans turn off the telly.

When they win something people say they can't wait for them to

    go bankrupt!

Goalkeeper: Probably not the position in need for new blood. Yet.

Left back: Samuel is not good enough and Bouma is always injured. Wayne Bridge is a natural target. 4-6m

Right back: Hughes and Delaney are never good enough. Natural targets are Luke Young and Glen Johnson

Central: Mellberg is a cert, Laursen is never going to play 30 matches. Ridge is a great future-player, but probably not good enough to start without competition.

Don't know who'll be the ideal replacement, although I think Wes Brown would be a perfect player for us. He is high on Fergie's list though. 7m

    Left midfield: Barry

Right midfield: Milner did a great job over here, and is only 20-21. 3,5m

Central mid: Davis isn't progressing without hard competition, Petrov is a cert. McCann isn't good enough for the next level. Excellent squad-player though!

I want to us to buy a real enforcer, with more passing-abilities than Macca. Then our midfield would be complete due to Petrov's def/att-style.

Imagine us snatching Owen Hargreaves, it would be so perfect. Never going to happen though, he is a United-player come January. Maybe Kevin Nolan would do a decent job? I am not a fan at all, but being totally objective he might be good? He can score a few, as well as he is good as the enforcer. 8m

Strikers: In my opinion Juanpi will never score goals for fun anymore, and he is getting older. Excellent squad-player but nothing for the future. I'll mention it yet again, Miroslav Klose would be the ULTIMATE player in that position. Enough said. He'd cost 10m, but he would net at least 18 goals every season in the Prem.

Other than that we have more than enough talent in our attack with Moore, Gaby & Baros.

    Sørensen

    Young - Mellberg - Brown - Bridge

    Milner - Petrov - Nolan - Barry

    Baros - Klose

Subs: Taylor - Laursen - Bouma - McCann - Agbonlahor

This is of course our full top-16 without injuries. What a luxury-problem for MON if players

like Luke Moore, Martin Laursen and Steven Davis didn't even make the squad ;)

I see someone has mentioned Tim Borowski as well. He is a great player, and gettable. English and German players are very much alike.

    Tough and dutyful.

  6. You can't remove the name just like that...

but I wouldn't mind "The Nike Villa Park" or something if we get £80m over a few years.

It will always be "Villa Park" for the fans even though there's a sponsorship involved.

  7. I don't think Gareth Barry is in the position to negotiate his future like he was Beckham or Thierry Henry.

He is a good player, but certainly not great... and he would never get a starting-spot at Tottenham.

  8. Can you still sign players that aren't attached to other clubs outside of the transfer window ? (ie Sol Campbell ?)

As far as I know, yes. It has happened a lot in e.g Norway this season and seasons before.

  9. Terry for me as well, although I think he has a bit of a wimpy voice!

Gerrard as well.... and Lampard..... and Beckham certainly did.

What's up with all these guys having light voices?

Gary Neville certainly fits the bill as well when being fit

  10. Doug Ellis didn't look like he was giving up at all!

In fact, he looked younger than he did 5 years ago and his health seemed OK.

Anyway, the takeover will not happen in time for us to spend money so it doesn't matter

if it happend in two months. The January-window might be a possibility.

  11. This is becoming more and more of a farse. It's really pathetic, and we're the laughing stock of the Premiership yet again. Our competitors must be having a blast out of this, we haven't signed a single player (apart from two Swiss teenagers no-one have heard of) and our star-players, if any, wants to quit the club. We have no manager and a 82 year-old who runs, owns and dictates the club. The season starts in two weeks, and I for one will not watch the spectacle at Emirates Stadium against Arsenal who are sure to crush us with at least 3 goals, perhaps 5 which they nicked us last season in a humilliating affair.

  12. Its bad but it isnt THAT bad - Celtic, Rangers and Hearts would top the league if they were there.

That's what I'm saying! Three teams, and the rest is just shit. The rest is not better than the other Norwegian teams, and our league is pretty shit.

  13. The thing is that it's much too late in the summer, and we won't have a chance to compete before the next season.

I love the club being taken over, but this season is almost to forget before it even begin. I don't think we will relegate anymore though, which is a very good thing. Mediocre yet again.... getting used to it though. And let's not make too much out of Martin O'Neill for god's sake... he has won some Carling-trophies with Leicester (and it is the lower-placed teams' cup) and I don't even rate his Celtic's honours as I would have easily done the same. The Scotting league is worser than the Norwegian and has only 2-3 teams worth looking at. MON is a good manager, but certainly not a great. If he was he would have been managing a top club like Man Utd or Arsenal, and not a club more likely to relegate than go top-10 next season. It's harsh, but true.

  14. Tomorrow you'll get to know the 7th consortium chasing Doug Ellis to sell Aston Villa!

The chairman would be me; I've got 27£ in my account and Michael Jackson would become manager.

Tony Blair and Billy Idol are going to make sure our transfers go through and Johnny Depp is signed to be our masseur.

Doug Ellis would be kicked out of Villa Park and will be given a "not let this man in"-card throughout his entire time at the earth.

The first signing would be Terry Venables as right back instead of Aaron Hughes and Ray Haughton as central midfielder. I would of course rename the "Doug Ellis stand" to "**** off Ellis-Stand" and let John Gregory run all of our press-conferances, easily!

In two years we would win the Autoglass-trophy and I would be **** out of this world. Cheers!
