  1. General give our best wishes to your Dad as well !!!

The comment about players is so refreshing to hear after years of what we saw as interference and points to a very bright future.

On the topic of families, the problem I believe is simply of cost. Whilst we are the cheapest club to see, Brummies love to see value for money and if the product on the pitch is seen to be good value they will come. An idea for next season maybe family season tickets (say two adults, two kids) for around £500 and the tickets can be interchangeable so at different times different members of families can come to Villa.

This is a seriously good suggestion - best of the thread so far for me!

  2. Dear General,

I've read this thread with absolute disbelief - I've supported this team since I was 5 years old and there has never been the kind of communication, integrity and joined up thinking that we're hearing about and seeing now. I'm very grateful to you and Mr Lerner, thank you.

I've got a 6 year old lad (his middle name is Aston!) and he's desperate to go to his first game at Villa Park, up until now I seriously wondered whether I'd take him to one - I was seriously that disillusioned. But I'm pleased to say that we'll be travelling up from London as soon as we can for the first of many trips to Villa Park.

    Thanks again.

    Dave

  3. In - what good would bringing in a new manager at this stage of the season do?

This club has consistently failed to achieve because of two reasons:

    1. Lack of investment

    2. Lack of stability

There's only one person who needs to leave Villa, and I'd prefer it if it wasn't in a coffin but I'll take it anyway it comes.

  4. For overall pace, ability and finishing (as well as being one of the greatest headers of the ball I've ever seen) I think it'll be a while before we see anyone as good as Yorke in a Villa shirt.

That was until he started to appear in Bozzie's porn films.......

  5. Des Bremner - Right wing? Surely not - he was a defender wasn't he?

Out of those three, it's gotta be Nobby. Funny how we get all nostalgic over past players and fail to see the good in the ones we've got. Houghton worked hard but didn't have half the skill of Nobby and Hadji was great but if he goes down as an 'all-time Villa great', when he spent more time on the bench than on the pitch, it will be a sad day indeed!

  6. This quote is from a fairly old interview he did on ChelseaTV and has nothing to do with him coming to the Villa. He was asked what he thought about being loaned out and he gave a perfectly reasonable answer - it would have been more worrying if he's said he was happy not being in the first team.

Just typical Sun bullshit I don't know why we get bothered by this stuff.

  7. Well it's all official now so lets just shut up and see if he does the business. DO'L will get the best out of him and let's face it since when did we start taking The Sun quotes as being accurate. Do loan signings have a press conference, if so it'll be interesting to hear what he's actually got to say.

For me, whilst he's wearing a Villa shirt, he'll have my full support.
