  1. Lescotts goal was his error? Unbelievable! Some people don't watch games I'm sure! Collins completely lost his man! I haven't seen cuellar be at fault for a goal for a while!
yes it was Cuellar's fault, Barry was completely free to head it back to the box. Cuellar had to mark him as a closest player. schoolboy error same as Collins and if i remember well Dunne were all runing from Lescott towards Cuellear/Barry. Cuellar gets the highest share of blame because of not simply screaming: "i am going to got it". imho share of blame is 50:25:25 (Cuellar : Collins : Dunne).

i have watched it carefully on Sunday only I have forgotten if the third player was Dunne or not.

  2. Carlos is a good defender, but he tends to do silly mistakes in every game. Lescott's goal was mainly his error, but with two silly sheeps who ran away from Lescott to cover Carlos, they can share a blame too. second silly mistake was an easy ball lost in the first half only to mancity spurned following silver chance.

  3. as JulieB wrote, i agree with her, i do not see the reason to protest. general play is better and we are let down by stupid defensive errors and soft goals. both Gordies and QPRs should be very happy that they snatched points from us.

  4. Would be interesting to see how the reaction is if we beat Man City, unlikely I know, but we did it last season as well when noone expected it to happen. Perfect debut for Darren Bent too.
no chance that we will beat them. first half own goals by Warnock and agent Dunne will do it for ManCity an easy game.
  5. it is simple, Nzog and Albie both wingers swapping their sides when needed, Bent or Gabby (based on form) as a main striker, Ireland or Bannan (based on form) as a free roamer between them and Petrov, Herd or Clark (based on form) in the middle.

  6. by John...and a referee that was prepared to make a decision we might just have won this one with one of the two very strong cases for a penalty we had last night when a hand and an arm denied us goals.
i would be more straightforward - agents warnock and referee robbed us 3 points last night. at least one hand was so blatant and denied the goal (hand raised to the air, stopped the ball, you should bet it would be a 1000% penalty against us). match commentators were straight also few minutes from the end too, they claimed it was another, at least second rightfull claim (i did not see this incident as stream went down for a while).
  7. Deliberate own goal

    I'm disgusted

    Are you for real?

Deliberate or not it's not the first time he tried something like this.

I'm not debating that. I think he's been diabolical the for the last few months and has made some really stupid mistakes, but the idea he put the ball in his own net deliberately is ludicrous to me, despite what we think of his performaces or attitude.

deliberate - no. it was his awful defending and positioning. mentally unstable. it was shoolboy error. dunne was going for the ball, warnock just needed only to scream to dunne let it to me. it is tought in school level football, but this prick is not a footballer.
  8. He's a journeyman premier league player for a lower to midtable table side

So we are ideally suited then?

Yep. We are a midtable side because we have players like dunne/collins in the side. Simple.

    Catch 22? :)
  9. So our striker is meant tO track back a let winger running into space where a right back should be?

    Are you being serious?

Tell you what Given should play sweeper and Dunne should be able to do thirty yard long passes towards gabby and albrighton

    A left Winger????

    Koscielny was playing CB

At least four other players HAD to be in his way: Hutton, Cuellar, Petrov and Ireland. where were they???
  10. at least Lichaj has an american bulldog approach and never-say-die attitude (which is good in sport but bad in world politics). imho i rate Lichaj highly and i would like to see him playing rather than Mutton.

  11. all defenders on the world do mistakes. Richard is not an exception. but i still think he has the lowest "mistakes leading to goal" per match ratio from our current defenders.

wtf were our defenders doing just before 1st penalty? it was someone else or collective error at least, not his. remember, it was on Cuellar + Hutton + Petrov + Ireland side, ironically, he even did not need to be there to save their asses and no penalty would be given. that mean he does not trust his defensive partners! i would not too playing alongside Warnock, Cuellar and defensively inept Hutton.

  12. If players are repeating errors then it is the responsibility of management to train it out of them or to drop the player in question. That they haven't been able to do that isn't the players fault. And it's not as if the players were repeatedly making the same mistakes under both our previous managers.

(There is such a thing as an individual error, but when these build up and up in number you have to start looking for the culprit higher up the chain.)

if players fullfill their natural potential and this potential is limited (like repeating same errors) there is no other way to teach them not to do it. you can not teach the dog to fly like an eagle and vice versa. our players are limited, they have fullfilled their potential and they are not good enough to compete with best. no manager would do wonders with them. Warnock will do silly sliding tackles, Dunne will have his blunders, Hutton is past it (shame), everyone will do silly mistakes proper to their skill level and potential. they are done. it is clear as summer sky in Africa.
  13. didnt notice it at the time but his position and decision making for the 2nd goal was shocking
yes but take on mind Warnock's stupid sliding tackle to nowhere. it is fullback job not to allow winger to go through him by the byline. if winger cuts inside, it is the job of CB or DM to cover/double. the 2nd goal was Warnock's and Hutton's stupidity.
  14. AMC is not Mourinho, but everyone must agree that our players do silly errors, which they are repeating over and over. I doubt that AMC with his coaches are not explaining these errors to players.

    1. Dunne will do some stupid error every 3 matches in average

    2. Warnock will do same errors in every match

    3. Hutton is not a football player (AMC's fault, he was naive that he is the same player he known)

    4. Cuellar is not a good defender despite 90% of Villa fans claim the opposite, Cuellar will do some stupid error every match (look at huge gaps before both penalties)

  15. Fair play to him today. Rightly dropped after being dire but came on in second half and made two cracking early tackles which seemed to get the rest of the lads going.

He arguably changed the game today as Kightly was a huge threat fist half and didn't get a sniff in the second half.

Needed a kick up the arse but responded to it in the right way

This. Clark was run ragged by Kightly first half but never had a kick second half. Warnock's tackling, distribution and forward runs were a major plus second half.

Clark got run ragged by a fit and raring to go Kightly who is obviously chomping at the bit to play after being out injured for so long. Add to that it was Clark's first game at left back for quite some time, as well as having an unfit Gabby playing ahead of him and it all added up against the lad.

However, Warnock came on into a position he is used to playing (or should I say occupying?) and had a more defensive aware Albrighton playing in front of him. Also, Kightly had already run his nuts off for 45 minutes and wasn't as fresh as he would have been at the start of the game. Add to that Warnock could have gone for a lunge after being on the pitch for only 5 minutes and I would say that everything fell nicely into place for him!

Give Warnock a start in the next game at Arsenal and let's see how he performs then against Walcott. The guy is a car crash in a Villa shirt and has been for quite some time. I have no agenda against him. I just do not think he is good enough to play for the club I love.[/quote

Villarocker.... did you figure out a way to alter the dates on posts to make it look like you were able to tell the future?

Warnock got skinned by walcott consistently.

Nah mate. It is just very easy to predict how Warnock will play in the next game because he is so consistently poor, unfortunately.

everyone who is not blind can see that Warnock is mentally unfit. he can make a good tackle to win the ball just to pass it straight away to the opposition. he repeats it every match and gifts easy goals. his decision making is just horrible, last night the sliding tackle before 2nd goal was totally wrong - scholar's error. but he is not a weakest defender in our squad. guess who?
