  1. I've often heard it said that linguistically there are similarities between English and Danish that make both easy (or easier) for the other to learn. In fact I've heard that Danish is the easiest language for a native English speaker to learn for those reasons. So the fact that Sweden, Norway & Finland happen to be traditionally 'Scandinavian' too is largely irrelevant from a language point of view.

And on the discussion of non-native fluency of English, I've no experience of Danes other than on the internet but I'd imagine the Netherlands might push you close on that.

Some english words, have their roots in old danish. Because the danish vikings settled in parts of england, and "Forced" the danish languge into english.... If you take words like "husband" it comes from the old danish word hùsbondí another word "they" which is the danish word "de" ;)

English citys that end on By... Like Grimsby! are most likely named by a viking settler, whos name was "Grim" Grimsby (By = town) Grimstown

Thats why there are so many similarities betwen English and danish :)

Bam... a little history on Villatalk :P

  2.

Really looking forward to him leading the line next season, hopefully Lamberts worked his magic again in the transfer market.

All the Danes in here are saying he's not ready for it yet. We need a proper replacement for Benteke to lead the line next season.

    What he said

  3. 0-4.

Lets go sign Okore and Kjaer.

    :D

(I jest. Poor display by Denmark, but like others have said, cant judge him (or Kjaer, who I also like) based on one bad team performance, Cornelius was their CF today, anybody know if Helenius was on the bench?)

He was not on the bench...

I am so ashamed of my people today :\

  4. I'm sure the Danes can help out here - what's he like then?

He looks like a Danish Peter Crouch - could that be right?

He is well known for us danish ppl... He has been the "flagship" of AAB (Aalborg) for 2/3 years now... he is a stabil player who has scored on a regulere basis for them... He is one of the biggest danish forward talents in DK

He is not on the national team atm... he was around the team last summer, and came in as a sub a few times... But then Nicklas Cornelius took his place fighting for the start possion with Nicklas Bendtner...  And he has now moved out the national squard after Simon Makienok had a good run in Brøndby....

I must say that this comes as a bid of a surprise for me... He has a lot of potential and he could grow into a okay player... But i cant imagen he is the new Benteke... And to be honest... i think Cornelius has a lot more potential

  5. Did he play good? I don`t think I will bother skimming through the match just to see how he did. Guess one could say he was at fault for georgia`s goal but that is pretty harsh imo

I think he did good.. He saved us a few times... and had some good forward runs... But tbh... bouth teams didnt play well :\

i Agree with you on the goal... He is not to blame...

  6. That Chelsea video is fantastic. Any Danes here who can give us more info on him?

Yea.. he won the danish young player of the year

He played all 90 minutes tonight against Georgien... He did a good job! had some good forward passes and some good tackles...

What i personaly have noticed about him, is that he is a really fast defender, who can keep up with most attackers... like with Moses in the video...

He is altso really strong and a fighter type who isnt afraid to get hurt...

A problem could be his hight... he is only about 1.83... and his timing is not always the best... but he is still young.. so that will improve...

That is just my opinion... i watch a lot of danish football... so have seen him play many times...

  7.

Scandinavian centre backs usually do a good job in Premier League and jump isnt that big when Agger did it

Agger came to the prem from italy where he played for fiorentina btw.

Looks like a potentially excellent signing.

Agger came from Brøndby in Denmark to Liverpool

  8. Comes second behind Dzeko, however Tekkers has played far more minutes. Interesting little table.

Hardly your traditional target man though is he. I think thats why they excluded him. He would kill it other wise :P

    Good point :P

    How about Michu in there???

im hoping the top teams start fighting over him insted of Benteke... But its a long shot :\
