West Brom beat Aston Villa to transfer as loan deal is completed

West Brom have secured the signing of promising Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on a season long loan.

It’s understood that Albion have beaten off top flight competition to sign Gallagher; Midlands rivals Aston Villa and fellow promoted side Leeds United both showed an interest in the box to box midfielder.

Made up, our owners have already said we're not going in for loan players

Can be quite strong some of that. 😊

Dele Alli hasn't exactly been in great form over the last few seasons,  so maybe he wouldn't walk straight into a top team.  Apparently Madrid want interested.

We have obviously managed to convince Jack that there are exciting times ahead,  so why wouldn't  our extremely rich owners be able to do that to other top players. We might be a great place/ project for somebody like Dele to kick start his career.

If Bale and James, world superstars,  are both going to teams without champions league football, particularity James. Then why wouldn't we be able to attract a Dele or a Barkley.

  3. Think I have Been drinking to much. Thinking Dele Alli is starting to make sense.

Big name, midfield signing that would be a big shock to us.

    Break our transfer record.

    I believe he's good friend's with Jack.

Looks like his time could be up with Tottenham and sounds like they need to sell to make way for Bale.

His wages are reported £100000 a week so not out of our reach.

I know probably shouldn't have drunk too much😩

He was literally asked whether it was 50/50 and said yes, so... 😐

They had previously talked about him signing his new contract and then asked him if was 50/50 him staying prior to that. To which he replied I suppose.

My take on it is he would be aware that it wasn't entirely his decision whether he stayed or not.  If a big offer came in for him the club may of accepted it ( maybe about 50/50). At that stage he wouldn't have been totally sure about the owners ambitions were and of course that would have an influence on his own decision.

Once he had talked to them it took him less than 24 hours to agree a new deal.

He an said earlier in the interview that he had always wanted to stay.

The best news of the summer, just love the guy.

    * I bet it takes less than 24 hours for a rag to print some story about a Delph style clause and him doing us a favour to secure a good price when he goes to United. Knobs.

    There you go

'VILLA'S SIGNING OF THE SUMMER OUT OF NOWHERE'

    Sky Sports’ Gerard Brand:

“Out of nowhere, and with three weeks of the transfer window remaining, Grealish has all but put an end to talk of his future at Aston Villa.

“No matter who Villa sign this summer, this is their biggest coup under Dean Smith, and allows them to plan for this season knowing their skipper and talisman remains. He is the man to build a team around.

“This will have a knock-on impact on Manchester United's plans; struggling with the Jadon Sancho saga, they have Gareth Bale as an option on loan, but Grealish looks to be out of the equation for them now.

Villa fans will be hoping this isn't a repeat of the Fabian Delph episode in the summer of 2015 - the midfielder signed a new deal in January, released a statement in July insisting he was staying at Villa Park, and then left for Manchester City six days later. Villa were relegated with 17 points that season.

“But for lifelong Villa fan Grealish, a U-turn would be far-fetched. 'It is my club, my home, and I am very happy here,' he said upon signing.”
