I watched his game with my brand new twin boys who arrived Saturday morning. Made it home in time and despite feeling completely overwhelmed and being tied up in feeding, I was adamant me and my boys would be cheering us on. Unbelievably delighted with the win and though we played some beautiful stuff throughout and for the first time since Burnley away in January we created multiple very good chances and should’ve been out of sight by HT. Traore showed his craft and silky skills but always had a positive end result out of those moves, Barkley looking much closer to the player we had back in December, much fitter and sharper and was very unlucky with his effort that struck the post. Our midfield and defence worked tirelessly and for the first time in a good while we managed the game out with such ease after El Ghazi’s beautiful strike. This was a reminder of the style of play Smith wants from this Villa team, lovely and fluid with the players finding each other in completely in sync. We’ve struggled massively without Grealish but against Everton we showed we can hold our own. Excellent performance throughout and stops us simply dwindling and fizzling out. Players need to be playing for their places and they played that way last night.

It was the first time that my goal celebration and jubilation wasn’t muted by VAR, but one of my 36 hour twin (Villa) boys who I was feeding when Anwar found the top corner. I was silently screaming for joy.

Best weekend ever (for me). UTV

    Great post and congratulations mate.👍

I'd be looking to play this 11

                        Martinez

    Kesler    Konsa    Mings    Targett

               Nakamba   McGinn

    Trez               Sanson           Traore

                          Watkins

We need to start winning these midfield battles, and having Barkley in there means that wont happen right now.

I'm starting Trez and his work rate should give the fullback more protection than with Traore on that side.  I think Targett can handle it.

I've gone with Sanson over Ramsey because i think he offers a bit more physically.

But i fully expect the same starting 11 as at Leicester.

Trez started last time against them and was part of the reason Cash was gettin slaughtered by Harrison

And still it got even worse after he was subbed...Why wasnt Traore, Barkley or McGinn being pulled of at halt time against Brighton? Those 3 made more mistakes in that one game compared to what I have made in my entire football career

Seems it. From looking it seems the below are not about the team at the moment...

AEG, Trez (we know he has covid), Bertrand, Conor (unless leaving?), Marvellous, Hause, Freddy (unless leaving?)

Also not seen pics of the other 2 keepers?

Guess we’ll find out today, if Smith spills the beans, or just have to wait for the squad tomorrow.

Marv and  Bertrand in pics I saw on FB.

Its nice to feel confident that ur keeper will successfully clsim a cross 99 times out of 100

Nah,not for me.I yearn for the yesteryear of Guzan standing on his line shouting "AWAY" at every cross/corner.Still does it at Atlanta from what I've seen.

He does this thing right. He does this thing where he allows players to shoot when they have the ball in front of him. It drives me absolutely insane. He’s done it ever since he joined and I can’t figure out whether it’s been coached into him or if it’s just something he does instinctively.

The Bamford goal last night was just another in the long line of chances/goals we’ve conceded where Mings seems to think it’s better to shield the goal instead of tackling the man.

Does anyone else notice it? I really like Mings and he’s been superb for the most part this season but he does this one thing and it really pisses me off. He just lets players shoot and backs off them far too easily.

Yep,noticeably Greenwood against Man Utd last season.
