Every American I've known that has come to  the UK, has their mind blown by the NHS. They were led to believe by their politicians that universal health care is the devil. And they come here and realise how f**king amazing it is (despite the NHS not being perfect), that if you need medical you can get it, without having to worry about being able to pay for it.

    You are completely right.

but the problem isn't the enlightened ones who realise that there is real world outside of the shores of the good ole US of A.

The problem is the millions and millions of them who have never stepped foot outside of their neighbourhood and who think that free health care for all is what the 'commie bastards' have.

I wonder how much real information they get about what happens elsewhere.

Do they know they have the most expensive health care in the world, offering crap outcomes for millions of people?

Have they seen how (for example) a desperately poor country like Cuba delivers better results than the richest country in history?  Do they know how other countries view with utter bewliderment how fhe US abandons so many millions of its cifizens to poverty and lingering deaths on the street?

It's hard ro see their mad, cruel system as the product of informed choice.

Also, as stupid as it sounds, many don't like it because it's pseudonym of 'Obamacare'.

They quite like the Affordable Care Act, but many of the bigoted clearings in the woods don't even realise that Obamacare and the ACA are the same thing.

I find a lot of my parents generation argument is they remember what it is like before joining the EU and they think they remember that  everything was great.  What they don't realise is, things were better because they were living pre Thatcherism.

    amended that for you

I just don't understand what's happened. How has he gone so backwards this past month or two? Subs. tactics, game plan everything.

The only thing I can categorically say is that this run started after the Brighton game.

    who joined us shortly afterwards?

So yours would be a disrespectful post? Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make the post stupid.

Yes, it was a **** stupid post.

to cite players not being able to cope with the pressure and expectation of playing for Villa was **** stupid.

most of the players on show tonight have only played a handful of games for the club between them.

if they can't cope with playing for Aston Villa, maybe they should have **** stayed where they were.

but, no,I don't think they are weighed down by exoection, they are shackled with shite tactics.

One of the causes to our instability is the the high demands and pressure fans put on the players and manager.

If we have learnt one thing it should be patience

    Ahhhh.

maybe the poor lambs shouldn't be playing professional football if the can't deal with pressure.

    what a **** stupid post.

  7. Taken 3 points since Boxing Day.

its not losing, it's the way we lose.

such a half hearted, low tempo approach to games.

EVERY team in the division knows how to nullify Aston Villa.

hustle and harry Us and we have no idea and no answer....that's down to the manager.

  8. I do understand dcjonah.

And of course it's awful for the people who did not vote him.

but it was pointed out for months, and months and months that the bloke REALLY IS is all the bad things that were said about him (they don't need repeating).

despite all that, they still elected him.

in the same way the brexiters will get their wish here.

    you reap what you sow.

    This country is breaking apart..

I guess you mean the US?

if you do then my answer is this.

    **** GOOD!

They wanted it, they can have it.

the worse it gets the better.

    ****'em.

  10. It really saddens me to see/hear Villa fans giving a hard time to one of our own, a youngster who has only made 2 dozen or so starts and is still learning.

one who has so much promise and may yet deliver on it.

its a shame they can't channel their dislike into support.

good post.  Would we rather sell others.  of course.   But most of those would have extremely little value.  Especially those I would like to give away. ;)

I agree, and there needs to be buyers,

But although others might have little sell on value, but getting shot of Hutton, Westwood, Gabby, Richards, and Bacuna would save a fortune in salaries.

However you cut it, the upshot is that we should not and do not NEED to sell Jack.

  12. How and why the hell is that prick Sherwoods name cropping up?

Anyone suggesting that must be mentally deficient in some way.

It's utter lunacy, and if Sherwood was  just 10% of the manager that he is touted to be, why the **** isn't he managing a Premier League team already?

Maybe tha Man U job wasn't big enough for him!!!

    Sherwood???? FFS !!!!

I still honestly believe back-to-back wins is all this team needs to kick on, as much as Dr X claims it's not a mentality thing it certainly is. Need to get the stigma out of the players & fans minds that we cannot win away or that we will concede in the last 5 mins...it's basic Sports Psychology.

And the last time this club had back to back wins was...............?

  14. When you set the team up like he did last night with 7 defensive players starting then you deserve all the questions and criticism that comes your way, the set up was disgraceful.

The fact we were not 2 or 3 down by half time was purely down to Newcastles woeful finishing.

He needs 4 points from the next 2 games or he's toast I reckon.

The guy is an idiot. I mean you would have to be an idiot to sink money into a basket case like our club.

Football is popular with the communist party at the moment so this is why we are seeing all the interest (there's not much appetite from the general population - the tv deal for the PL is one of the poorest money earners in the region). Should football China fail to progress in the next few years, then interest from the party will decline and poor Tony will be left holding a club with a negative balance sheet rocking up massive losses every year.

It will end in tears. I'm looking forward to what happens afterwards. We may be in such a dire position that fan ownership may be the only alternative.

It must be **** brilliant knowing so much about the mascinations of the Chinese Communist party.

where did you research this ?

I'd like to throw Robbie Keane's name in to the mix.

No reasons other than he's played here before, he'd be closer to world class than other names mentioned but he's also on the older side. Would still cause major havoc in the Championship and, who knows, might want a UK return?! Clutching at straws...

    Isn't he about 57 now?

  17. I have  never been a big fan of Westwood, but I must say that for 50 minutes last night he was excellent.

I have never seen him so energetic and involved in so many good things.

the problem is, all the energy he expended in those first 50 minutes meant he was knackered with the rest of the team for the last 30 mins or so.

i would happily have let him go until recently, but if we want to build a squad, we need to keep him.

one of the problems last night was that we had NO ONE of a decent standard to come on and help out once Tish and Westwood 'had gone'.

if we sign Jedinak, but let Westwood go, we are leaving ourselves in exactly the same position.

we need a squad, we need a quality squad. And Westwood proved last night that he is perfectly adequate at this level, but just not for 90 minutes of high tempo footy.

  18. Really not bothered about Adama.

i appreciate he is explosive, but to me he is not a footballer.

he's a bit like one of those kids who are  brilliant at keepie uppies and juggling the ball. all the skill in the world, but don't actually know how to play the game.

hes a bit of a freakshow (in the nicest terms) and I'd rather have Greene out wide.
