Some Defensive Midfielders who could be good, in my opinion -
Sander Berge, 21, Genk - Spurs were interested and our old friends Genk dug their heels in.
Uros Racic, 21, Valencia B - Just finished a loan with Tenerife
Alfa Semedo, 21, Benfica - Just finished a loan with Espanyol

I look forward to the fresh batch of fans sitting behind me thinking they're being quiet complaining about their rotten luck sitting behind 'this tall bloke with the silly haircut'
I can only crouch down so far.

Going to be interesting when we play Man City and 'Don't look back in anger hits.'

Where dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
There lies a leafy island
Where flapping herons wake
The drowsy water rats;
There we've hid our faery vats,
Full of berrys
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And anxious in its sleep.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
Away with us he's going,
The solemn-eyed:
He'll hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hillside
Or the kettle on the hob
Sing peace into his breast,
Or see the brown mice bob
Round and round the oatmeal chest.
For he comes, the human child,
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than he can understand--- The Stolen Child - William Butler Yeats ---

Have you seen this?
https://socceronsunday.com/article/jack-grealish-fails-drug-test-villa-promotion-on-hold/
QuoteAston Villa’s promotion claim has been plunged into crisis following FA confirmation that Jack Grealish failed a routine drug test after Monday’s play-off final. Traces of Hydrodoxtrenaline (street name ‘Flange’) were found in the 23 year-old’s urine.

What even is this/does it mean?
A 'concept' shirt for next season on sale? A @Con?

If we get Lolley in we'll be the pride of brum
(we are already but...)

It will be interesting to see how ruthless Smith will be.

It may be a risk but I would stick with him this season, I think he's good enough, he deserves the opportunity to try and other positions need more attention.
He's improving all of the time and has put in some fantastic performance and made some top-notch saves. He's quite vocal too. I like him.
Quite an innovative keeper too, most keepers like to save with their arms, but Jed knows that's what the forwards expect, he's developing a style where he keeps his arms by his side and saves the ball with an open mouth. 'The Gobbler' I believe it is called.

Arguably the greatest side in the Competition. Robbed, many would agree, quite unfairly of the victory they deserved. Yesterday almost makes up for it.

Elmo had a fantastic game, really bossed it. McGinn was the storm. With Hause and Abraham scoring earlier in the season with 'other', now with El Ghazi's goal today we must be the leading scorers of 'other' I love Aston Villa Football Club.

Well, he did the press conference...

a lot of morning for a player that has never really played in the top flight.
True, but it could be the dawning of a bright new era.

Of course, it's not just the playing staff that could be added to. It might be good to bring in someone who would compliment Smith's innovative creative passing play. I don't know, I don't think I've ever mentioned him before but I can think of someone who may fit in well...
SpoilerOkay what he may lack in discipline, he'd make up in fun/creativity
(his wage may be pricey too, I know it's not going to happen, don't worry but a man can dream and it just wouldn't have felt right to not mention him)
-
Kent and Aribo would be two brilliant signings in my opinion.
Plus, I know I've mentioned him before and he didn't show that much in the playoffs, but I'd like to see if we could get Rekeem Harper.
I know a few are interested in him and it seems he hasn't signed a new contract with West Brom so could be available on a free.
I hear a lot of good things about him and from the small amount I've seen (apart from the playoffs, but he didn't really do much wrong/have much time to make an impact especially with what his instructions appeared to be) he seems like the type of player we could do with.

This is quite a scary drawing of him.

Another great review, John.
I've always wondered, what is long enough to gain a rating?
