Grealish the creator
Carries ending in chances created Player Total carries Carries ending in a chance created Jack Grealish (Aston Villa) 260 17 Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) 218 14 Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City) 201 12 Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) 212 11 Adama Traore (Wolverhampton Wanderers) 204 11 Gerard Deulofeu (Watford) 188 10 Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) 142 10 Felipe Anderson (West Ham United) 225 9 Christian Pulisic (Chelsea) 132 9 Way ahead of anyone else in the league at the moment. Interestingly he is also on the "Bringing it out from the back" list. Perhaps that shows the effort he is putting in but I would rather he stays further up the pitch

Premier League: Which three clubs could go down?
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49250674
QuoteAston Villa: Are they 'doing a Fulham'?
Last season: Championship play-off winners
With their spending spree this summer, the club have been compared to previous play-off winners Fulham and as the table below shows, there are similarities to what the London club did last summer before being relegated back to the Championship.
Are Aston Villa 'doing a Fulham'? Fulham 2018-19 Aston Villa 2019-20 % minutes 'lost' by players leaving 36% 35% Money spent £103m £120m+ Summer signings 12 12 On loan the previous season 1 3 % minutes played by new signings 53% ? However, considering that three of Aston Villa's signings were at the club last season and five of Fulham's signings had yet to join this time last year, Villa's business does seem less chaotic, although the proof will ultimately come at the end of the season.
While Norwich and Sheffield United head into the season with their star scorers, the loss of 25-goal striker Tammy Abraham is a blow for Dean Smith's side and puts a lot of pressure on club record signing Wesley, who scored 13 league goals for Club Bruges last season.
One player who will be key to Villa's survival hopes is 23-year-old captain and boyhood fan Jack Grealish. After missing three months through injury, his return to the side in March coincided with the start of the club's incredible 10-game winning run that took them to the play-offs and the Premier League.
They have made the Fulham comparison but accepted that our signings are 'less chaotic'

I see this as a potential positive. I'm fairly sure you need to be outside the UK to apply for a work permit in the UK.
So Wesley Moraes and Mahmoud 'Trézéguet' Hassan have now both been announced officially subject to a work visa and international clearance yet the suggestion is that Douglas Luiz is not being announced because he does not have a work visa and international clearance yet? I really hope I am wrong but I have a bad feeling about this.

Not in his Villa kit though. Boooo!

The only interest for me is the Coventry City fixtures. I am assuming that they will be playing "at home" on the same weekend as us. Will the times of both fixtures be moved to accommodate policing requirements?

How strong is the Butland rumour?
Not sure but Stoke need a striker. Think we can do a swap deal Hogan for Butland? I wonder how much Hogan would knock off the Butland fee?

Ok but we are an Premier League club now not a championship one So we need to make one or 2 marquee signings. I except we have ti spend wisely but at this moment I would say we have grealish, mings if we sign him who are good enough, Mginn should be ok but is unproven at that level.
We have just been promoted and yet we currently have no strikers and no central defenders. It will take time to integrate these new players into the team so that we can hit the ground running at the start of the season. Losing the first 10 games whilst the squad gets to know each other is not an option. This player will fit into the DS way of playing as he has done it before. For a very small outlay this is a very clever signing that will allow us to concentrate on other areas of the pitch

Now we are out of the championship will you still watch championship games?
I'll be following still. Although I'm glad to be out its a great league with some top football
I would absolutely watch matches on the red button on Sky, however i am over the moon that I never have to spend my Saturday nights watching the highlights on Quest

When Sheffield Utd won promotion, the Sheff Wed owner released a statement on Swfc.co.uk congratulating them. Come on bcfc.com, you know what you have to do!!

How would you rate Hughton on the Peppulis management scale? He centainly isnt anti -football so I am not sure where he is better suited to West Brom or Middlesbrough. I think he plays decent football but I am sure if you asked Brighton fans see him closer to anti-football that total football.

The biggest issue for ffp for me is the gal between championship and Premier league. Its actually ridiculous how much protects the big clubs.
I think you are confusing FFP with the TV money deal. Distributing the TV money more evenly across the leagues could reduce the chances of failing FFP for the lower league clubs as their income would be higher, however I suspect (no evidence for this) that this would just mean that the wages and transfer expenditure of the lower league clubs would increase.
The point is that simply increasing TV money will not remove the concerns that people have with FFP. I think the fundamental principle of clubs not spending more than they can bring in is sound. My concern with FFP is that should a rich owner(s) decide that they want to put there own money into the club in order to acheive what they want then this should be allowed as long as the debt does not become attached to the club, i.e. the money should be gifted. An owner may want to do this is they believe the club will be worth more if promotion is achieved, but does not tie the club to debt from their owner or investors if there is not promotion.

A click on the twitter link would indicate 'Big Al' (the big guy) is Alex Bulter, the team masseuse.
Don't know who 'smudge' is.
Here is his twitter handle rather than instagram if anyone is interested.

I do hope we haven't paid his full wage and negiotated to pay them off at 50% or less
I am wondering would any of us accept that. If you have a contract that going to pay you for another twelve months and access to club doctors and physios during that period, would you accept half the money? If he was going to another club then fine, he gets additional money, but if he plans to retire due to the injuries then surely all of us would try to maximize any final payouts. What does the club get out of it if it has to pay up his wages in full ? Just curious.

Are we just going to sign the top scoring Championship strikers every window now, until we go up?
Is that any worse than buying utter shite from other leagues and hoping for the best?

By rights.. we belong in the premier league!
I think you will find we came 20th in the Premier League last year so "by rights" we belong in the championship and until we manage to get promotion we belong to stay there. I think Bruce is our best chance at getting promoted but I think this season would be too much of an ask for anyone.

Better offer from someone else? I remain optimistic that he will leave (wondering if he still has a good friendship with Moyes from his Everton days)

I wonder with Kaboul leaving Sunderland for Watford (Kone is also rumoured to be leaving) that maybe they are back in for him?

Quote
MARK WARBURTON made a dash across the border yesterday in a bid to talk Joleon Lescott into snubbing Sunderland for Rangers.
QuoteAs well as a possible move to Sunderland Lescott is thought to have a number of possible alternative destinations across England’s second tier. But Warburton hopes to persuade the defender to rebuild his reputation in Scotland.
Apparently there are clubs fighting over him. Cannot understand it! Perhaps there are two Lescotts and we got the wrong one?
