  1. Give me Bent over Gabby anyday. Gabby hasn't done much for the last few games now he got in the way vs Arsenal. Feed Bent and he will score we'd have beat Arsenal if Bent was playing. That said Bent makes Gabby look better (all those assists scored by Bent?) so probably worth playing both. My argument is Gabby is poor on his own and if it was him vs Bent then it's Bent for me anyday!

LOL, so the guy who runs with the ball, beats players and gets the perfect cross is made to look good by the person who puts it in from 6 yards? How does that work? Even if Bent wasn't there on the end of the crosses, we'd all be praising Gabby's work and saying 'Gabby played well, we need someone on the end of his crosses though'

without Gabby this season, Bent wouldn't have more than 3 goals. You say 'Gabby hasn't done much for the last few games' ...

In his last game before Arsenal, he set up the goal for Albrighton! 2 games before that, he was given Man of the match.

Without Gabby and Given we'd be in big time shit.

People are ridiculous with Bent over Gabby. Gabby has been outstanding. Bent has been awful.

  2. So, apparently there might be a state funeral for a woman that allowed child poverty to triple under her rule.

This country is away to the dogs.

She should be allowed to get the funeral that she deserves as decided by a majority.

Not sure how that would pan out for her.

Definitely, because tripling child poverty and cutting properly disabled peoples benefits is something to cherish.

Churchill was a proper hero. He defied everything against Hitler. Thatcher was an old establishment scumbag, who robbed the poor.

Thatcher state funeral to be privatised - e-petitions
Thatcher state funeral to be privatised

    Responsible department: Cabinet Office

In keeping with the great lady's legacy, Margaret Thatcher's state funeral should be funded and managed by the private sector to offer the best value and choice for end users and other stakeholders. The undersigned believe that the legacy of the former PM deserves nothing less and that offering this unique opportunity is an ideal way to cut government expense and further prove the merits of liberalised economics Baroness Thatcher spearheaded.

Get signing, and get in the beers!

Haha. Brilliant post. I'll be signing that.

  4. Kate Middleton will be wearing 5 designer outfits on Christmas day, all paid for by us tax payers.

She visited a homeless charity during the week. There was me thinking she'd wear one and give the money from the other 4 to people that are dying on the streets hungry in this day and age.

  5. Point 1) They don't own the land in which they give away their so called profits.

Point 2) The vast majority of the costs they incur are hidden by statue law and exempt from the Freedom of Information act, so it is next to impossible to know the final and absolute cost of this family. You then add in the cost of security, policing and costs to regional councils for photo opportunities and the estimated costs start to spiral out of control. There are far more costs of this family than the released figure of £40m.

People still visit the Tower of London. They absolutely would still visit the palaces and other stately homes. They never get to see the Royals anyway, nor do tourists book holidays to fly over on the off chance Elizabeth looks out of her window. They visit to look at the actual buildings and landmarks.

  6. Besides that, a President Blair and first lady Cruella? No thanks!

Straw man/woman. See earlier lottery suggestion.

You may watch for what you wish for snowy. Simon Cowell might make a Saturday night game show out of the whole thing. A similar production to that Red or Black lottery.

  7. You are forgetting other costs. There are hidden charges of over £100m a year the tax payer pays for the Monarchy. Royal Finances are also exempt from the Freedom of Information act.

Also, she cannot surrender income to crown estates that she doesn't actually own. ;)

  8. The country is up to its eye balls in debt, they can't afford the Royals.

I don't buy the tourism argument as well. The hundreds of thousands that goes towards protection for Beatrice and her sister to get pissed in nightclubs could go towards training programmes for youth unemployment. That would benefit the country a whole lot better than having a few spoilt parasites look down their nose at the common folk. It would boost the economy, get people off benefits, and improve communities.

As for tourism, if stately mansions were open to tourists throughout the year the country might actually make more via tourism.

  9. There are some intelligent posters on this forum, and I was wondering on which side of the divide between the two they fell on, unless they are an Anarchist, or something else. I do apologise if that is the case.

Anyway, I myself cannot stand the Royal Family. I believe they are frankly a bunch of spoilt parasites stuck in times that should have been confined to the pages of historical textbooks.

I was reading a story today about Kate Middleton, she never seems to be off the news. *Yawn*. Once again she was compared with bloody Diana. Anyway, she visited a homeless shelter. How nice of her, and was given flowers, chocolates and worshipped like some Goddess, all whilst wearing a £4,000 outfit, no doubt paid for by the British taxpayer. All of the attention was paid on her visiting the unworthy beggars, who weren't pictured at all, nor were the actual issues on homelessness raised to create awareness and understanding. They were pushed out of the way. Homeless people do not sell newspapers, but Kate Middleton smiling and posing with flowers will.

How people can worship such parasites is beyond me. They are given all of these palaces, countryside mansions and funds from the public purse, all because they were born into it or decided to marry to join the gravy train.

Look at Andrews children Beatrice and the other one. They are regularly pictured falling out of nightclubs pissed, and looked after by police officers and guards 24/7. They look down no us normal folk and think we are peasants, yet it is the hard work of us peasants that upkeeps their lavish and ridiculous lifestyle.

I pray a revolution comes soon.
