Would like Ireland to have ago at some point agaisnt Newcastle. Made a few good runs agaisnt Everton and he was only on for 10 mins. Then again almost every time he played last season I was left frustrated, so.... I don't know who should play!
-
Shame he's injured, but hopefully it will pave the way for Ireland / Bannan or even Jenas if he's fit.
Emile has done well playing in the position he has this season. If no one steps up, I actually think we might miss him.
-
Used to think he was fantastic, during his good spell.
Really hope he can regain his form, although the longer this goes on the more unlikely it becomes.
-
Hit and miss for me.
Sometimes during a game you can see why he's in the middle and why he's captain, then he's non-existent for 10 minutes.
-
A lot of negativity, I still think he's a good player and will only get better.
Don't think we currently have any better options to play in centre mid.
Would like to see a combination of: Petrov, Delpth & Jenas (or Ireland).
-
Hope he can make it. Especially now Heskey may be injured. Needs to step up and take his chance, if he gets it agaisnt Newcastle.
-
Has been disappointing so far, but has however shown glimpses of what he can do. Still have no doubt he will be a good player for us.
Dont know why people are so suprised with his form, since he has always been a player that has one or two good games in every five. When he is good though, hes very good.
It will be game number five tomorrow, and i predict that you, and many others will be on this thread singing your praises.
Feel free to bring this up tomorrow, if im wrong :winkold:
Not surprised by his form. And I did say "I have no doubt he will be a good player".
I hope you are correct and he does play a blinder tomorrow.
-
Could have said a lot worse. Although would like him to produce some good form, before he starts thinking of his future elsewhere.
-
Seen him move sometimes and he can be bloody fast!
-
Agree with the above post, a few reserve games and he will be ready to step up.
-
Hope he can continue this form for Villa. Keep clean sheets is going to be massive for us this year.
-
Surely there is a difference between the Italy team of 94 and the Russia team of 2011....
Haven't seen the game so won't comment.
-
Yeah could see Jenas coming in if he's not fit. Move gabby back into the middle.
Could also be a chance for Ireland, if we are short in attacking options.
-
Hope he gets some first team time soon. Even if it's just 10 mins at the end of a game.
Want to see what he's like, considering the amount of hype surrounding him.
-
Didn't say anything too shocking. Also looks like he's got one eye on a nice retirement package in the US.
Might need replacing next season, depending on how he performs in this one of course!
-
Off next Summer for between £18m and £25m.
And who can afford that who would actually want him?
-
McLeish. Houllier was never suited to Villa.
-
Even if he says he wants out next summer, only a few clubs will be able to afford him and out of the 5 maybe 6 clubs, who would need him?
-
Should be a good signing. As people say he's attacking, maybe he can help Bent out a little. Walker certainly did last year.
-
sportinglybet on Twitter: "Just seen Alan Hutton outside Bodymoor Heath [Aston Villa training ground]. Deal seems likely today."
Nabbed off BBC site
Thanks.
Was expecting to see him in some time this morning, was beginning to worry we couldn't agree a fee with Spurs. Although there I still haven't seen any confirmation of an agreed fee.
-
I think he's needed. Don't want to depend on a experienced youth player, regardless of how well he played against Wolves. Add to that how useless Beye is. Our best choice at RB IMO is Cuellar. So I'm all for getting him in, so long as AMC can get him playing well.

Shame he's gone. Liked him as a player and genuinely thought he could of made it ... If a replacement is signed who is proved in the prem league then it shouldn't be a problem.
-
I think he's got more potential than the Fonz. Also looks more confident, which is a plus for a young lad.
