Why he's in the first 11 is beyond me. At this point he's an impact sub at best.

Not MOM for me but he played well. He justs needs to be more consistent and decisive in the final third.

Good results from the next two matches is vital, because after that we have:

We don't need to spend 50m, that's for the top 6.

 

When Newcastle can be comfortably top 6 despite winning 4 league games since boxing day (same as us) and Palace can be in the top 10 recently it's NOT that difficult to achieve.

 

Say we sign Bertrand, Holtby and Sigurdsson for 20m this season then to me I'd be pretty happy with our options then providing Okore stays fit.

I'd swap out one of Holtby or Sigurdsson for a DM but thats pretty much how I see it as well. 

If Lerner stay's and provides Lambert with the usual £20 million then we need to spend it on 3 or 4 quality player's. Idealy he will give Lambert more than that or we get new owners.

I'd play him and Robinson against Man City in the second half  - if we're not winning. Perhaps even if we're winning. Would be a great place and time to get his debut appearance. Show us what you can do against the best in the Premier League.

I wouldn't give him too much game time because if we get hammered it could unnecessarily damage his confidence. I'd want him going into pre-season and the beginning of next season still on a high from keeping Notts up. 

When he came I told myself I would give him 3 seasons ( provided we didn't get relegated ) because that's how long I felt it would take to reshape the squad and get rid of the high earner's. If we're not comfortably mid-table by this point next season i'll agree he needs to go.

I'd hope he get's a crack next year if we get new owner's who will give him a bigger transfer budget.

 He does passes i expect a Premier Lge player to do, he doesn't do passes like Yaya Toure did to Dzeko on sunday.....that is a good passer.

 

 He is probably our best passer, but considering it is the worst bunch of footballers i have had the misfortune to watch down VP in the last 40 years, that is not high praise.

Yaya Toure is not a good passer.... he's a £20 million plus passer.

Westwood is great at passing. Toure is fantastic, but that's probably part of the reason he cost so much.

I believe he did and Hoolahan was always at the tip of the diamond iirc.

Agree I don't think chelsea want him but I feel a club much higher up in the table will want him in the summer. Hopefully we can show him in his time here that this is the place to be.

Put both players in their prime and holt doesn't come close.

This is where we need signings now.

Nah this is where we need signings in the summer. What we need now is an AM and that would be good enough for the rest of this season.

Maybe a RB as well depending on how bad the Lowton situation is.

He's done we'll this season when partnered with Vlaar. At the end of last season I wasn't sure who was better between Clark and Baker but Clark seems to have stepped up his game this year.

After one game you can tell he's at least better than Heskey.

I'd have heskey over holt every day.

Why's that? I'd have Holt myself as I feel you'd get more goals from him and also seems to be better at "bullying" defenders.

He really can't afford many more issues can he. You might get away with one without too much grief but if he gets one more now surely Lambert will just get rid, might even sell him in the summer and get someone else in.

Shame really because if he got his head down and worked on his game he could become a very good PL RB.
