  1. Defender Scott Dann has joined Barclays Premier League side Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The centre-half has signed a four-year deal with the Ewood Park outfit following a heartfelt phonecall to Peter Pannu in Hong Kong.

It was a conversation which highlighted the mutual respect the pair have for each other and led to the acting chairman sanctioning the player's departure, as he recognised likeable Dann's ambition to remain in the top flight and the courtesy he had in making the call.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    Most cringeworthy statement ever.

  2. and not one bbc or sky news reporter on site - all they show is twatter pics and mobile phone videos. Maybe it's to make it more like the african riots. Are all their journos on the piss on a saturday night, or do they only cover the pretend riots that the agent provacateurs set up for them?

Sky news are covering it live now.

And people with cameras were getting attacked, hence why they're not getting too close.

  3. Unbelievable news everyone - I don't usually put stuff like this on here as it only gets shot down, but I am 100% confident this is true, my source has no reason to lie - he is friends with Gordan Cowans , and has it from the horses mouth.

The reason for the hold ups is we have got much bigger fish to fry.

Tevez has made it clear to Man City owners that he does not want to go to Corinthians or Real Madrid. He has lived in London and manchester, he liked them both but really enjoys Birmingham and its multi-culture. His advisors are trying to thrash out a deal at the moment.

    But that is not all.

Cesc fabregas has told Arsenal he wants to leave. barca have said they will not pay the 40m asking price, and Villa have asked his advisors would he be interested coming to Villa. it is not definately yes- but he has requested to speak to us.

    and

We have enquired about both Gary Cahill's availability , and also Scott Dann. We are prepared to offer up to 20m for each player and negotiations have started.

As I say, I am only quoting my source, but he has no reason to lie. :!:

About as funny as Gina Yashere.

  4. Have to say I think Given would be a rubbish signing.Much prefer Foster

Wouldn't say Given would be a bad/rubbish signing, but would much prefer Foster. The latter would mean we have the GK position sown up for the forseeable.

The Given deal would feel more like the Friedel one. Good player, but on a downward curve and the clock is ticking from the get go.

What's the longest players stay at a club these days anyway?

We'd probably get as many years from Given as we would Foster, if not more.

Foster's supposed to be a crock as well, Colin Tattum reckons Blues could barely get him on the pitch towards the end of the season and there are serious concerns there.

  5. Ability-wise I believe Given is the best possible GK we can attract at the moment. I also believe and hope his injuries will not be such a huge problem, I'd expect another Friedel-like effect - very solid for a couple of years, albeit unspectacular.

However, if the wages are indeed around 60K per week, that's definitely overpaying. I don't see how we're going to have a lower wage bill if we're replacing the left players' wages with the same or more expensive.

    Given isn't a Friedel type.

Given is a spectacular 'keeper, makes stunning saves. Just hope his reflexes haven't diminished.
