  1. I want to deal with the above post first.

According to you, not attending VP makes people less of a fan than those who do. What about the handicapped villa fan who is simply not able to attend VP due to his or her's illness. What about the unemployed Villa fan who would love to go to VT to support his team but has to support his family instead. What about those Villa fans who live around the world and can't get to VP but do subscribe to cable TV just to see their team play or those that go to the pub with their mates in their Villa shirts to support the team. Are they any less a Villa fan than those that can attend VT just because you describe them as 'armchair.'

I just hope your not the ignorant prat your post depicts?

As far as today's result goes, posters can blame the ref and linesman and they can blame the fact that we were playing Man City. Irrespective of the officialdom, it puts into perspective our cup win against Man City. It also puts into perspective where the club is at the moment. We are in dire trouble.

If we lose against Reading and believe me at the moment that is a very real possibility then Lambert must be sacked. I was concerned when he first arrived that he would turn us into Norwich. He has gone one step worse than that and at exactly the wrong time for our club. We needed stability with Premiership signings and we got instability with lower league and foreign signings who have taken time to become acclimatized and within that time we haven't picked up the points we should have in a fairly easy start to this season. It was quite simply the wrong time to introduce so many less premier experienced players to our team when the players already in our first team have proven over the past two seasons not to be good enough. So what we have now is young players learning to live within the rigours of the Premiership beside players who don't have the qualities to to help them.

Lose our next two games and Lambert must be sacked paving the way for Redknapp to come in and weave his magic before it is too late.

What would you rather have. Redknapp being able to attract the type of player that Lambert couldn't to keep us up, or, Redknapp going to QPR, keeping them up at the expense of our Villa and that in the next two or three games will be a very real choice that our chairman will have to make.

    great post.

  2. He's posted a table on Twitter that shows us in the relegation zone. Very strange that a fan would post that.

Some of us can see we are shit and actions needed. other are blind. upto you to pick which one your in. but with the stick i get for being right i am happy and its feels good being successful at something. happens more than villa wins too.

  3. I feel sorry for Bent.

Bought here when he had supply from the wings they were sold under Lerners "cut back on everything" plans. he joined a team that were mid table to have two season where he has helped keep us up instead.

He then comes back from injury this season to find a manager who cannot play a system to supply him. He has a goalscoring record that is head and shoulders above most players held in higher esteem. (www.tinyurl.com/avfcstrike). so he his doing his job.

Then he gets fans on his back for "not doing enough" even though he scores on average more than gabby who gets no grief. None of these give him time to get back from injury or play a new system. I bet gabby would get as long as he wants "mr villa" that he is.

He tells the press he would like to play and he gets grief for it. Imagine that. a player wanting to play!

If he goes i seriously think the clubs fans need to hang their heads in shame. The same people who say "you must support the team whatever" are the same ones wanting our best goalscorer gone as we face another relegation year.

I feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for the clubs direction as well.

  4. This loose mouth stuff amazes me.

Member of press asks if he is happy he is not playing. he says no. "HE'S EVIL"

Im happy he wants to play. Its better than having someone who is happy on the bench!

  5. Just interviewed Vlaar on WM

    Sounds very down

Basically should have scored, they got a lucky goal & need to get some points on the board. But he sounded very quiet and subdued.

OMG Vlaar having a go! he should be dropped BLAH BLAH BLAH (typical fan reaction)

  6. Got to say that Lambert may be as stupid as fans who have a go at our best goalscorer of a generation?

"plenty of better strikers around to replace him" really? our fans are mental!

  7. I've really enjoyed the break. Gives some breathing room to see what will happen next.

Plus its slowed down all the moronic tweets like:

"benteke is going to be god"

    "Ireland will save us"

"a point out of 9 is good"

    "Gabby will save us"

  8. Ah well, we got to page 5 before people started spouting the usual silly nonsense about MON. There is a thread about MON in other football where people can and do regularly post childish rubbish about him. Don't know why people can't confine themselves to that and not ruin every other thread in Villatalk.

The issues raised in this thread are to do with the attitude of fellow fans, not a manager we had 3 years ago.

How can anyone avoid the stone blind obvious... where do you think the fans frustration has come from having spunked a kings ransom on players who we have just got nothing from... either sold for nothing or left having no effect on the performance of the team.... for sure the other 2 have had an effect, but the other 2 hav'nt had 4 years to blow most of their transfer money on players with low technical ability....albeit managed to dabble a bit.

are you just in denial, Briny

People who seek to blame MON for everything that is wrong with AVFC are the ones in denial. He was set a task of quickly getting us to challenge for top 4. He had a go and didn't quite make it. End of story. Anyone who can twist the story to claim he is responsible for the fact that fans regularly slag off each other, the players, coaching staff and chairman/board are being inventive in the extreme. Apart from anything else, this has been going on since well before MON's time. Remember "We're not fickle, O'Leary..."?

(Also, if it was appropriate to discuss O'Neill in this thread, I would have to raise a few issues with your rather one-eyed account of his transfer policy and the value of the players he bought.)

    nice

  9. Signings are Lowton (3m) El Ahmadi (2.5m) and Vlaar (3.2m), Holman was free. Collins sold for 2.5m, so technically you're both wrong it's a net spend of 6.2 million :D Not enough though by a long shot so far

if your stats are correct then i tip my hat. i had calculated 5.5m but lets be fair its not enough. to save a relegation fighting team.

  10. Maybe Maybe Maybe.

The facts all point to Lerner no longer investing transfer funds as he firefights the fact he didnt put a wage structure in place.

If you cant see them then you are thicker than susan boyle....

The facts are he's invested about £7m so far. After we sign another 2 or 3 players that figure will probably be about £15m-20m.

    Is that not investment?

£5.5m net so far!! after earning money for the past three years including £16m earned last year. So no. it sounds liuke **** all from the lazy word removed.

  12. Have you built your lambertout blog yet?

Nope. good manager. shame he hasnt got much chance under Lerner

Youre quoting your own posts because?

We've played 2 games and the window is still open.

just like showing i was right. Get shed loads of abuse and its hard been right.

Suppose i get to celebrate victories at least. Shame it not my clubs victories.... too long since then
