  1. What have people said that is ridiculous? He was fantastic with Colchester and has taken Norwich to probably two straight promotions. He is an upcoming manager who deserves a chance. Nobody is expecting him to get into the top 4 next year. It is about stabilising the club and moving us forward, along with Lerner, similar to what Moyes did with Everton, albeit without the Lerner figure.
I don't think people have said much ridiculous stuff to be fair, it's just he's constantly mentioned on here and everyone seems to think he could take us really far but I think he still needs more experience. If he wasn't young I don't think he would be as popular on here. People cite Moyes but he may not turn out like Moyes (who IMO is a tad overrated anyway).
So who would you go for out of interest??. Would you rather we stay Houllier??.
Well Owen Coyle (another manager mentioned a lot on here) would certainly be a better appointment as he has actually proven he can cut it in the Premier League.

I thought you would wanted Houllier to stay because he'll turn us into a good side next season. You, and some others who had these fantasies thinking he can get us playing good football with good results. Why the change now by 1 result?

Depending on how the rest of the season goes I would like to see Houllier given a pre-season and a shot next season. If he still doesn't work out then get rid. Don't mock others just because they don't share your opinion.

Would you like to see him continue if he puts us at 17th?

Depends on a number of factors I guess.

    What exactly are those "factors"?

  2. Just beat Heenereven (sp?) 7-1. All goals scored in the first half.

    GK - Akinfeev

    DR - Rafael

    DC - Shawcross

    DC - Subotic

    DL - Chygrynskyi

    MR - Young

    MCR - Rakitic

    MCL - Marchisio

    AMC - Pastore

    FC - Suarez

    FC - Agbonlahor

  3. I have always thought a young, upcoming manager who has the hunger and a good record suits Villa to the ground. Someone who will stay the distance throughout their career. Those fancy foreign names don't work for us, unless you are a Mourinho.

  4. Who exactly has said he would take us far?

I have seen people citing his fantastic record so far, the fact is he is a young manager who has done well with crap teams, and also I have seen people saying he deserves a chance.

He may be crap, who knows? Guardiola could have been crap. Moyes could have been crap. Fergie and Wenger could have been crap. Coyle could have been crap.

The fact of the matter is nobody will know until you take a chance and his record shows he deserves a shot at it at least.

I agree with Maradona as well. He will lead Norwich to the Premier League and stay there for their season. He'll probably keep them up and then his stock will further rise.

  5. Sam Allardyce will not come in for 8 games, save us and then head out the door as the fans want someone else.

    When will people realise that?

Would you go in - do a job - save a company knowing they wanted you out for someone better at the end?

Give the man some credit for crying out loud.

  7. If it is any consolation to anyone I had a brief dream about the managerial situation.

It involved me walking along the back of some stadium, wasn't Villa Park past some man selling a tickets (place was empty). Anyway, Paul Lambert suddenly started walking up and down and I began singing "Save the Villa" over and over. He was walking back and forth, pondering it.

For a second I thought "Save the Villa" was an actual real song. It was that damn good. Or at least so I think.

  8. I found the Middlesbrough reply

"Many thanks for your recent application for the Managerial position at Middlesbrough Football Club.

You were of course the outstanding candidate but after careful consideration we decided against your appointment. Quite frankly we were of the opinion that your tenure with us would have been short-lived, as your undoubted talent would result in one of the big European Clubs seeking your services.

We consider it a sign of our progress that someone of your status could consider us."

    That is fantastic.

  9. Funny you should mention that. A few years ago someone emailed their Championship Manager CV to Steve Gibson at Boro and he actually replied to it.

I remember that, he got quite a good humoured reply to it as well didn't he? something along the lines of "I don't think we could afford to pay the wages of a man of your talents"

Yeah, something about how they didn't want to take him as the big European clubs would be after him no doubt.

  10. Have you won the treble before? No? Thought not.

Well I can proudly say I have.. with two different clubs.

Come back when you win the Champions League with Celtic, beating Man City in the final and putting Madrid out in the semis. Jesus that was the best game I ever had going on that game.

Victor Obinna up front. Absolutely lethal.:lol:

I also used to play this little beast night and day when I was a kid. Even "lost" it on purpose so my mum would have to pay for it at the video store.

  11. If Jose wins the Champs again with Real I would approach him and say something like

"come on, your winning things like you've been cheating on CM, how about a real challenge?, you can have £50m to spend this summer and you can try and get us into top 4, how about it Jose?, you'll be like the Maradonna of Managers"

    We can only dream. :lol::lol:

  12. Why doesn't he decide to leave on a mutual agreement ? Surely he can't be enjoying himself as Villa manager.

I know it will cost the club to pay him off, but it saves him and the board further embarrassment.

I think we should get Kevin Mac back in for the rest of the season. Everyone keeps saying that we can't go down because of the qaulity of our players. If this is the case then HAPPINESS in the players needs to be restored NOW as we are worringly running out of winnable games rapidly. With Arsenal and Liverpool as our final games we have to secure safety in the next few matches ! Otherwise I can see us going down as the shock team on the last day. Players were happy to play under Kev ! If he keeps us up then give him the job for next season.

Look how Roy Hodgson instantly turned the Baggies around. And i.m.o Di-matteo was manging better than Houllier.

    Action needs to be taken.

    ££££££££££££££

  13. Who cares about "looking" interested? I just want us to stay up. I couldn't care less if [insert manager here] slept on in the dugout, as long as we stay up that's all that matters at the moment.

Talk sense. If the manager does not look interested what message does that portray to the players?

It is a basic rule of motivational skills for crying out loud.
