Slightly off topic but as my old dad says we've not had anyone vocal or inspiriational on the pitch in many years; so who was the last captain that lead with heart on his sleeve and wasnt a modern mute?

Delph was the brightest talent in that league, bale is an exception; stop the whining and rediculous comparasons.
-
you can say that again.

awkward when you'd rather be at home watching motd than up broadstreet

Just lost 6-1 to Wolves who at that point were on a terrible run of form. This was after a good 2-1 over Wigan. Can someone please explain to me what I'm doing wrong because it's really frustrating. :?
A bit late like but i think your inconsistency is comming from your players mentals, 'you cant win with kids' i use to just bang in wonderkids and hope the likes of balotelli and marquinhos would carry me on 08; but soon found out that professionalism, concentration and morale are what get you consistent results, i also found having a couple highly influential experienced players always seems to reinforce consistent performances.

The powerhouse!
haha some just think hes born with it...

2-1 to the vila n'zogs to score first...
If not 4-0 man city with lerner approving a contract offer from city for bannan before kick off.

Couldnt understand a **** word him and arteta were saying at somepoint

i don't rate busquets at all, i think he is very average with limited technical ability
Ive always thought youve recieved too much stick on these forums but get a grip will you?
I generally think you shouldnt compare a youngster to world class proven player as they will never be on par.

I really doubt most of the posters on here attend a game, if they do i doubt they can watch the game without moaning their heads off without picking up points.
Delph is looking lively every time hes rushed back from injury and he seems to have regained his pace, much needed around a tiring experienced petrov.
First half against QPR he closed spaces intelligently and quickly, second half when he had the allowance to venture past the halfway line we changed the game.
Get a grip villa fans and save your un needed conjured critisism for your wife's cooking

Delph is out of his depth. Why did we spend 9m on a League 1 player. Just why?!
6million, welldone you remembered what league the lad is from yet did you watch it and delph? A small young player who bossed and controlled the league, he is in a much more restricted role here (covering the lack of pace from petrov) after being injured for such a long time and naively being rushed after injuries.
You may not like him and your entitled to thinking that but he's shown signs of returning that 6mill investment if he just gets some consistent time to play.

lets hope this the kind of game mcliesh can begin making villa park a fortress like he did at the sty
Need us the fans to make some real noise backing him, intimidating the oppposition wouldn't do us any harm in the proccess :x

Given L. Young - Collins - Dunne - Warnock Petrov - Makoun Albrighton Ireland N'Zogbia Bent
Give or a take a little change in players there but I must say that is a good looking team!
Gabby will play up front with Bent. Albrighton will be in and out of the team all season.
Slot Clark in there, get Warnock and Ireland's heads sorted and it's a strong first 11.

He owed us big time, sat on the bench soaking up wages, had a very very poor half season (not getting a league assist?) then has a average season in a poor squad and thinks he's better than Aston Villa.

Oh God, we're nearing the 666th page...
Lmfao, watch that space for the revival of MON's contract

what is with the whole bitching system over every manager!?
Blues won a trophy under McCleish does that not make him some exalted form of miracle worker ?
We have strong potential going forward, I feel McCleish will recreate that strong back line we once relied on... However now we have a 20+ goals a season striker and young attacking prospects.
No matter who is appointed this club is ours, I have faith in what i belong to even if a glorified chimp dictates our game (though he left last season =/.)
-
I've just had it on good authority that Mcleish has definitely quit over Birminghams transfer policy NOT because he was interested or tapped up by the Villa job.
Carson Yeung said to him "Wa yu wan faw playas in suma Awex?" , McLeish replied "6 defenders". Yeung came back with Marlon King. "I said 6 defenders, not sex offenders".

I'd only take baines, coleman and rodwell out of everton tbf, im sure if it was moyes he'd see they would be the only impactful and relevant players to our squad.

Apparently the new manager will be announced at a confrence this friday?
That's what i've been told.
-
American news source?
In regards to villa's mangerial status?
Whats Michael Bradley's dad up to these days?
-
General,
Im not too fussed with the ongoing news around vp as most of it is not effected by what I think, however the club belongs to us the fans and one thing I think we can change is the atmosphere with the clubs contribution.
With the abolishment of terraces, smoking and the huge inflation of the price of beer (especially in the ground...) the atmosphere is dying.
My suggestion is, instead of the bland opening anthem we and many other clubs have, we use something unique (and actually uplifting) I feel that on the large screen an image of a lion roaring (with a claret and blue tint?) subsequently followed by a roar as the players walk out is surely more vigourating than that of what i've been uninspired by for many seasons as a season ticket holder.
Thanks!

Collins could do this quite easily if in his mind he's putting DB through on goal.
