  1. I think we've now reached a tipping point. I don't think there's any coming back for Eck now. I think it's only a matter of time before he's gone. Very much sooner rather than later. In one week the landscape has massively changed. It has gone from being solely a vocal minority to being an angry majority coupled with a distinct turn in media focus and an O/S statement which at the very least proves it's now on their radar. Short of between 7-9pts from the run-in I think he's gone this summer. Let's just hope the next guy will be planning for a Premier League season.

Can the board afford to pay him off? I assume he was singned up for more than 1 season?

  2. Ireland has moved down here, i think i remember Gazton saying so, might be wrong.

Didn't he say last year that the Midlands was s**t place to live. Made himself look like a idiot now.

I think that is the ultimate kick in the teeth for us fans

  3. Apart from Moyes, Hughes and Ancelloti, the rest are previous garbage from other teams. All sacked managers !!!

Steve Mclaren = the worlds worst football manager

Martin Jol = Houllier all over again but possibly worse

Martinez = lucky guy who's career highlight is fending off relegation on the last day WOW !

Ancelloti will want a bug pay cheque, and big money to spend on players. Is Randy ready that ?

Moyes is the man i.m.o, but I still can't see him leaving Everton

  4. We are just not killing games off. In many games we go 1-0 up and then seem to sit back and assume we will get the second goal.

Then we get prerssurised in second half, get nervous and throw it all away.

We should of beaten a very poor Newcastle more than 1-0 and were lucky to ride it out.

As soon as we score we need to immediatley get after them again.

  5. Just support the team as per, keep GH out chants for before/after the game but for the 90 minutes of the match just get behind the team...That's what I'll be doing anyway, and I'll be hanging my 9.5ft x 4ft flag off the top tier as well, I always think flags add to the occasion and I've seen some cracking Villa ones this year.

    Thats a good point.

If anything I think those sort of chants in the game give a phycological advantage to the opposotion. It gives off the impression that the club is nervous and vunerable.

If needed we should save them to the end.

  6. If we go a goal down, keep singing singing singing, shouting, clapping !! etc. (i know its hard sometimes)

It seems that our boys struggle to pick themselves up recover when we go a goal down. Stand out one for me was the away game against Blackburn in November.

If we fall quiet, they instantly lose interest.

  7. Houllier to last the season and keep us up. Moyes to resign as Everton manager at the end of the season realising that he cannot achieve anymore than he already has. Moyes to take over as Villa boss in the summer. We can but dream.

    Agreed

There was a rumour after the Everton game at our place in August that he was in the running for our mangers job. I was delighted to hear this and was like ' yes he's our man' !

He was the right man for the job

  8. I'd snap your hand off for a point here. Having watched Everton yesterday they are everything we hate, good in the air and powerful. Our 1-0 victory earlier in the season was one of the biggest footballing muggings I've seen.We need bannan back and to go tippy tappy to stand a chance.

Agreed. We were awfull that day and robbed the victory with the early goal. We were just lucky that Everton were still asleep as they tend to do for the first few months of a new season. We gave them enough opportunities with sloppy defending.

I always fear Everton because there situation in terms of sqaud size, opportunity and budget is so similar to ours. Our games with them can always go either way and they certainley are awake now !

  9. Why doesn't he decide to leave on a mutual agreement ? Surely he can't be enjoying himself as Villa manager.

I know it will cost the club to pay him off, but it saves him and the board further embarrassment.

I think we should get Kevin Mac back in for the rest of the season. Everyone keeps saying that we can't go down because of the qaulity of our players. If this is the case then HAPPINESS in the players needs to be restored NOW as we are worringly running out of winnable games rapidly. With Arsenal and Liverpool as our final games we have to secure safety in the next few matches ! Otherwise I can see us going down as the shock team on the last day. Players were happy to play under Kev ! If he keeps us up then give him the job for next season.

Look how Roy Hodgson instantly turned the Baggies around. And i.m.o Di-matteo was manging better than Houllier.

    Action needs to be taken.

  10. Would it not be worth considering gettting Kevin Mac back in charge.

Lets face it, Houllier has been out of the game for years and has demonstrated that times have severly changed. At least Kev worked under the wing of MON and is more up to date with the modern game with his coaching of the youth academy. Garry McCallister has done nothing to improve the situation either.

Maybe (if necessary this could be done on the quiet) Keep Houllier's title as manager, but get Kevin to make the sqaud decisions behind the scenes. Get us safe and then come to an agreement with Houllier in the summer. After all Houllier has lost the changing room now and the players were happy to play for Kev.

Sorry to quote my own post !

But another point is that, Isn't it a job of any manger to get on with all of his staff, to ensure they are happy and therefore get the best performance out of them ?

Isn't that the basic principle of any manager, not just but football but in our everyday jobs ?

If Houllier is falling out with all of our players and then having the immaturity to say "Fine, then you will not Play anymore" surley that is bad managment because it is compromising the teams success. We have a good defender in Stephen Warnock, had the opportunity of Irleand and now he seems adamant to P**S Richard Dunne off.

Why is the board not taking notice of this ?

  11. It fills me with no confidence when the manager clearly doesn't have a clue how to change it. He's excuse being that things just aren't going our way at the moment. Do something about it then!

    Agreed

    Like going back to **** 4-4-2 !

Playing only Bent up front will never work. You need a superstar like Teves to make that gamble pay off.

(please note I am not having a pop at Darren Bent)

  13. I don't want Beye or Warnock in the team. I'd rather have my 7 year old son play at the back at least I know he loves the club and would give his all.

Too bad about Dunne. In my opinion he was actually coming around to playing the way Houllier envisions the backs playing. Oh well... If we can attack Bolton and score first we can win this thing. I wish Delph was a tad touch taller. With his midfield skills he's not a bad shout at left back.

With all of the defensive injuries wouldn't it be interesting to see GH throw Heskey's arse at center back in a pinch? Hesk is a big strong dude. 8) UTV!

He is, but he does often seem to get knocked over a lot.

I think Warnock should play. Bolton will try to muscle their way past and so we our bigger guys out there.

  14. Houllier was overcautios, but I can understand his actions.

We can't at this stage consider ourselves safe in the league with West Ham, Wolves and blackpool winning games against the big teams that should of defeated them.

Can you imagine how awfull it would be for our club if we went down. Financially, but also the championship is such a difficult lead to get out of. If you don't get promoted straight away you often become stuck there and the club rapidly declines. It happened to Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United and now is happening to Middlesborough. Coming straight back up after relegation is too much pressure to excert on the players and a very difficult prospect.

Houllier is a good manager and knows what he is doing i.m.o. He was a bit too extreme but I believe he had the best intentions for the club in mind. Playing Delph in defence however made no sense.

I do feel very sorry for all you fans that made the trip to city last night and paid good money for what should of been an exciting event. I was excited about watching it on T.V ! Even more to hear of anyone affected by trouble from city fans after the game. For what its worth under the circumstances the support was great and put city fans to shame.

Keep your chin up guys !

  15. I hope everyone who is going will have a great time, I can't be there but would love to be. I'll have to make do with the T.V. Some games just seem to get me really excited more than others and this is one of them. Hope everyone enjoys it whatever the outcome !
