  1. Assuming we do bring in a RB. Juanlu from Sevilla could be an option. A bit more a winger, but if we are looking for more attacking qualities there, he could offer a bit more than Cash and still quite young.

Diego Carlos posted a photo of him and Emi on his Instagram story with the words "Gracias por todo hermano! ♥️"

    ="Thanks for everything brother"

    Hmmmm.

Probably just been a big part of helping him integrate in a new country especially at a time that he suffered a major injury keeping him out of the team. The South Americans on the team are meant to be quite close. Nothing more than that, me thinks.

  3. It would cost A LOT…but Mitoma would score shed loads in this system. The previous links were likely dubious but we should be willing to break our transfer record for him.

That said, i think we may break our record at least a couple times this window.

We only lost 3 times? That can't be right. Just off the top of my head, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leicester, United, Wolves.

  5. To think we were so deprived of talent in midfield for the past decade and now we are oozing in class. Douglas Luiz has been on another planet this season. And lest we forget it was his red card (undeserved tbf) which ultimately got Gerrard the sack. A catalyst for our season in so many ways 😎

Big fan of those clickbait Twitter accounts who take any tenuous transfer rumour and when we don’t sign said players wallow and moan.

While some signings would be exciting, the rising levels of schadenfreude each time those accounts subtweet a rumor saying we should be in for this player, etc. are unmatched. Trust me, if Emery really loved Dembele for example, we would have paid the nominal fee…all these bed wetters get caught up in all the made up nonsense.

Why are we not in for a better backup than Goalsen?

Just seen Randolph went to Bournemouth on a free yesterday, he is twice the keeper Olsen is, would have been a decent backup for Emi for 1-2 years.

That’s a position that makes so much more sense in the summer. We are out of both cups, so a backup isn’t really guaranteed much game time, if any at all. I’d expect it to be addressed next window when we would have many more options.

Probably been said but Leeds in for Mckennie/Ounahi. Two names that have been mentioned on here before. I wonder if our name isn’t in the mix because of Guendouzi? All the talk around Mckennie was him rejecting us but absolutely no way he does that and then goes and signs for Leeds.

    Definitely think we’ll get Guendouzi.

McKennie to Leeds does not surprise me at all, even if he prefers that move over us (if we really were interested). They already have Tyler Adams and Arronson; the US players really enjoy working under Jesse Marsch. I was a bit shocked they never made a push for Pulisic last summer. 😄

From things I've read. Jonathan David is Ollie with a higher ceiling and versatility

Stylistically, I think he would fit into the Emery system. In terms of overall ability and potential, I don’t watch French football so my viewpoint is somewhat limited…but he was utter trash at the WC.

If any truth, does make me worry that Carlos could be struggling despite the pics we are seeing.

Honestly that’s why a loan makes a lot of sense here. No need for them to rush Carlos back. Achilles injuries really aren’t as bad these days as they once were, so I don’t fear for his ability to recover, yet no need at all to push it with him.

Well this guy is pretty spot on in the past if he is insinuating that there is something in it with Villa and Maguire. If this is a thing, my hope is it’s just a loan until the summer when we can better address the position with DC back and likely more options at play. I’d have no problem with that.

  12. I’m thinking it’ll be just Emi M, Cash, and Dendoncker. Buendia could be an outside shot, and same with Luiz and Coutinho. I don’t see Ollie or Ming’s getting in, which is for the best honestly. So hopefully most of the squad will be around for the break.

  13. I think we’d be okay at CM assuming no issues with Kamara’s return. Him and Luiz in the 4-2-3-1 would be great. Would just depend on outgoing though.

My two priority areas in January would be a proper wide player and CB. If there was a top striker we could attract, it’d be nice, but I imagine the market for that type of player in January is a bit unrealistic.

Will be interesting to see the overall January market though given that it is the first ever after a WC and windows following a major tournament tend to have some surprises.

  14. I’m certainly on board with Emery. >50% winning percentage at his clubs over the last decade and multiple trophies won. The only manager to hit a 50% winning percentage in the last decade at Villa was Steve Bruce, which tells you all you need to know about the quality of our managers.

  15. I can definitely see him coming in and playing a similar role to Konsa in his first season. Wouldn’t throw him in right away, but would provide excellent cover in defense if we sell Hause and don’t bring Young back.
