  1. Do they usually send a paper ticket for the coaches or just have a list? I ask because I have the tickets now, but nothing about the coach travel...

You should have a paper ticket for the coach too

    Sigh..

EDIT: Just rung them and the coach tickets are apparently sent separately.. Seems unnecessarily awkward, but meh.

  2. Did get tickets in the end thankfully, on coach 52. :)

Away match #3 here I come... Previous ones were Chelsea and Sheffield United last season, I haven't seen a defeat on the road yet! Long may that continue, we lost the 3rd home game I ever went to (pissing Bolton aswell....)

EDIT: Actually, the last couple of times I've gone away I've driven, so I've no idea where the coaches leave from, I assume from by the North Stand or the Coach compound that the away lot usually use?

  3. Hope they are putting more coaches on, don't fancy making the journey down on the train. Too expensive. :(

£20.00 return with London Midland if you do not mind a longer journey.

What station is that to? I couldn't bloody find it for that cheap. Still, don't think I could do it for that much still..

£20 is a New Street to Euston return, straight through, about 2 1/2 hours. You'd then have to get a tube from Euston to Finsbury Park, can't remember how much that is though. Not much. Check the London Midland site, it's cheaper to use them than Virgin. No booking fee on their site either, which is nice.

Regardless though, the OS says "Free Coach Travel is available to all supporters wishing to attend our FA Cup 4th Round fixture at The Emirates Stadium. Official Coaches will depart Villa Park on match day. Coach tickets will not be automatically sent to you and you are asked to BOOK your coach ticket when purchasing your FA Cup ticket"

If they turn round tomorrow and say there arent any more coaches left but will sell tickets from this apparently magical neverending allocation, you won't be the only one kicking up a fuss ;)

This is true, and I will quote their words straight at them if they decide to inform me of that.

  5. To add to the above, I got someone in Birmingham to go ask and apparently all coaches are booked up but they said to ring up tomorrow to see if they're putting more on.. If not I can't really afford to go...

That's....somewhat worrying. Almost like they're suggesting they have a finite number of coaches available to take, but they have more tickets than seats on coaches!

    Precisely my thoughts..

  7. Has anyone got the tickets online from the villa ticket site?

i can do the tickets but can't see the option to book the coach on there?

I'm wondering this too, looks like I'm gonna have to take a trip to Brum. :x

  8. Would agree with that save Hutton's rating, thought he tackled well considering he had Bannan in front of him who seemed not to close the left side down enough.

The save off Cabaye was stunning.

I thought Dunne and Collins did well, certainly won a lot in the air.

Dare I say it, we missed Heskey for me.

That'll happen when our tactics seem to be to lump it forward whenever possible...

  9. I'd prefer

    ----------------Bent-------------------

    Albrighton--------Ireland--------Gabby

    -----------Makoun---Petrov----------

    Warnock---Dunne---Collins---Young

    ----------------Given------------------

Althoughhhh, I am tempted to put Heskey in there on the wing to help Warnock out a little.....

  10. Succumbed and bought a ticket yesterday, didn't think I was going to make any pre-season games but didn't want to miss out. Also bought my train ticket - it is very easy, Walsall train from New Street, get off at the Bescott. Depends what direction you're coming from but yeh.

The other way is Wolverhampton train from Walsall... Not sure on the bus you catch from Walsall to Bescot.

  11. General,

It would take a professional less than 5 minutes to determine that picture of SD holding the Liverpool scarf is REAL. Hurry up and get rid of him.

I'd say the opposite, it's so clearly fake it's unbelievable.

I've given you some abuse on here in the past General (let's face it, who hasn't?), but please don't do anything rash with Downing until something is actually bloody proven.

Now, I was angry about McLeish being appointed, as I am sure a lot of fans were, however, the noises he's making I am quite enjoying. If he proves me, and a lot of others, wrong by playing some good attacking football with us rather than the tedious crap he was playing at Birmingham and gets us results in the process, then I will be happy as anything to eat my humble pie.

In fact, on the Downing thing, even if something is proven, give him a smack on the wrist and continue trying to get the bloke to stay... Arsenal haven't sacked/sold/fined Fabregas yet as far as I'm aware!

Stuff Liverpool by the way, this selling our players to our main competitors has got to stop, could you see Liverpool selling Gerrard to Tottenham? (Lets face it, we can't really say they're competing on Chelsea's level yet)... Selling to Man United is all well and good (well, I'd rather we keep our players but you know what I mean!), but selling to people we see as our competitors for top 6 (Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City) has got to stop.

Anyway, sorry about the long post. Cheers for reading.

  12. General,

What the hell is going on at our club???

Let's start from the Barry saga.

He decided he wanted to leave and go off to Liverpool, fair enough, they had Champions League football and we'd just finished 11th, so we said if we don't get CL in the next season, you can leave. Barry says that he won't leave us for a club without Champions League football... The club talk to him at the beginning of the next summer, next thing we know, he's sold to Man City. Next up we have Milner who had a great season for us, he was happy as Larry at the club, comes for a talk with one of you guys, decides he wants to leave. O'Neill has a meeting with Randy... And leaves. Milner is then sold, and another player signed once O'Neill had left. Who organised those then? Following this, Young says he would sign a new contract if offered, talks to you guys and decides he doesn't want to talk about one until the end of the season. After this we go for a good while with no manager before you ultimately employ that idiot Houllier, he takes us down to some new lows, falls out with half of the squad, somehow has a perfectly safe job, then gets around £28million to keep us up! He manages this even though our best football actually came when he was in the bloody hospital with McAllister managing us!!! We get to the end of the season, Downing wants to sign a new contract, talks to you guys and decides he doesn't want to anymore and wants CL football, whether his wish will be granted has yet to be seen. Friedel enters contract talks with the club and decides he wants to leave, he goes to Spurs, a supposed rival if you are to believed on our ultimate goal. Young comes and talks to Randy, decides he wants to play at the top level and is basically gone already (who's negotiated that one then????). You talk to Ancelotti about taking the job, he decides he wants a year out of football. Martinez then gets spoken to about taking the job at Villa, he decides to stay at Wigan. Now we have tapped up the manager of our biggest rivals, whom he has relegated twice whilst playing dire football, got him to resign (VIA **** E.MAIL) and have ultimately pissed the fans off at the club by announcing that you are going to interview him.

Well done, General, Randy and Paul, well **** done.

Now, back to the original question.....

WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON AT OUR (the fans) CLUB!?!?!?!?

  13. General

There is very little integrity in football these days and, sometimes, I wonder why I continue to bother with it at all. However, reading some of the tripe in the daily papers and watching the nonsense being spewed out on TV I wanted to write to congratulate the Villa Board for, at last, bringing integrity back into the game.

Whether or not I agree or disagree with the appointment when it is made is irrelevant. I support this club unconditionally. What is beyond doubt though is that the Villa Board have conducted themselves throughout this process with honesty, integrity and professionalism. No backhanded 'dripping' of information to the media and no prima donna outbursts either. While this has clearly irritated the media and thus the current backlash, when the dust settles I think all Villa fans will rightly be proud that our club have gone about their business in the right way.

So many thanks from me - affirms all the money and time I invest into supporting this great and proud club.

General, I want to second that. I recall we recently tried to sign a player and the club we negotiated with said publicly how professional we (read you) were.

For the life of me I can't remember what player or club that was...

    Delph - Leeds.

Anyway, General please keep up the good work in the search for our new manager, I would just like to know though, if the rumours of Young leaving are true, who exactly negotiated the deal considering we have no manager in place at this time?

  14. General it's simple. Let a few of AVFC's fans into the dressing room to motivate the players and tell them what we want to see or please do the honourable thing and give us back our money! It's well documented that students are struggling for cash so I could really do with the £550 I've wasted on Aston Villa this year back. It would pay for my books next year, my travel, a few good nights out and the rest would go to my student fees.

There is more to life than Aston Villa and until AVFC stated tonight that Houllier isn't going I was never going to leave. But as long as Houllier is here, not just me but the majority of your fans will leave! We turned up for Wolves just like every week with phenominal support we give, however it was not a football game, more like a French retreat!

"I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!"

    Agreed with this, General, 100%.

I paid £200 for a half-season ticket as I couldn't afford a full one at the time (I still attended the West Ham, Rapid Vienna, Everton and Birmingham games...), yet as soon as I could afford it, I bought a Season Ticket.

I was under the impression the board wanted the best for the club, if this is not the case, I'd like my money back, or at least the money for the remaining games back, please.
