  1. What made it worse is he booked Collins for a foul on Owen, even though Owen was still 30 yards form goal. In normal circumstance I couldn't have understood the booking but if he felt Vidic didn't deserve anything for his foul then he needs to be consistent.

He has had a right shocker there.

However we can't lose sight of the fact that we didn't really get to grips with the game after United equalised.

  2. Everton have 38 points.

I can see us finishing on 67 or 68 points so for Everton to finish above us, they'll have to win 10 of their last 12 games. Tall order even in the form they're in.

Interestingly they still have to play us, Man. City and Spurs in the run in so they'll certainly have a say in who makes 4th.

I'm hoping we don't have a end of season collapse, looking at our run-in we shouldn't therefore I can see us finishing above Everton, who I think can challenge for the top six now.

But as you say it depends on their results against us Spurs and Shitty.

  3. That mistake could cost Everton the tie, a bit of European inexperience perhaps?

They should have wrapped the game up at 2-0, but a silly mistake and it has changed the tie.

  4. I agree they are a bit like Hull last year in that they have momentum about them and all of a sudden media articles like this one are tipping them for the top six. But while I do believe they are stronger than Hull were last year they have been incredibly lucky with injuries, they only have a small squad so if they do have a few players out they haven't got the back up to sustain a good run. That's why I reckon they will fall away at the in the 2nd half of the season.

  5. To be fair the one player I could see scroing when oit matters for Australia is Cahill, he always seems to be in the right place at the right time.

He hasn't been in the best form for Everotn this seaosn but part of that is because he has been playing in all sorts of different postitons. Stick him just behind the striker and he will score goals.

  6. I think Everton fans just want a trophy now, two 5th place finishes were impressive but the press still give more attention to the likes of Spurs, who they seem to cream over regardless of where they are in the league.

  7. The ref gave a few decisions against Everton with understandably riled the Everton fans, but then he started to give all sorts of odd random decisions, the crowd can often sense a weak ref and so the Everton fans sought to influence him at every opportunity. It certainly worked with the sending off.

  8. Everton are a good side when they get going and have players fit -as shown last season when they started badly but then ended up in the cup final.

I think it is a good time to play them though, with all their injuries and the three defeats on the spin.

Think it will depend on how many of their players comeback into the side.

  9. It's just a standard bowl though. Is that where we're going to be in 50 years? 20 premiership teams each with a stadium that is basically the same.

I'd take Villa Park with 4 seperate stands any day.

True, but then look at the 'new' stadiums that have four separate stands - The Ricoh, Walkers Stadium etc.. not exactly inspiring,

There is just something about new stadiums that ruin the atmosphere

  10. Gerrard and Torres are the sort of players who make a good squad great,

At the moment we have a steady squad with decent players but no-one who can score goals out of nothing when it matters.

Another question should be though - where would Liverpool be without them??

  11. Home draws with Stoke and Wolves, 8 goals conceded to two away games and 11+ players injured, it all points to a Villa win......

.....But we know its never that straightforward with Villa is it!!!!

Hope its a good game, I went last December and it was a cracker - especially the last 30 seconds!!!

  12. Pablo Aimar is a quality player, though he had a dodgy patch he looks to eb backt o his best at Benfica, Cardoso is a FM legens as well (for me anyway!)

Everton have a load of injuries, I reckon they could get thumped tonight

  13. Villa played off the park but win 1:0

not based on any in depth knowledge of opposition formations or star alignment, just woke up this morning and new it

Sometimes you just get a feeling!! I'd put some money on it If I were you, just in case like!

I'd take a 1-0 win, City are flying at the moment and scoring goals all over the place.

    I honestly can't see us keeping a clean sheet, 2-2 I think.
