  1. Quintero is out of Villa's range. On loan, maybe (and thats a big maybe). If you want someone that plays at the same places that Quintero does, you have Rafa (21) from Braga, Miguel Rosa (25) from Belenenses, André André (25) from Guimaraes, Bernardo Silva (21) on loan from Benfica to Monaco, Andre Martins (24) from Sporting.

    As for the Cardozo wage question, i don't know but it should not be higher than N'Zogbia's i guess.

  2. Marco Silva, former Estoril manager (3 years ago Estoril, was in the 2nd division, last year they got the 4th place just like this year with a really low budget) is free, but apparently he is close to sign with Sporting CP.

    Vitor Pereira, former Porto manager, said that he would like to sign with a premier league team.

    The two names would be my bets.

  3. Portuguese football legend Eusebio dies at the age of 71

    Portuguese football legend Eusebio has died aged 71 of cardio-pulmonary arrest, according to a statement from Benfica.

    The former Benfica star was the top scorer in the 1966 World Cup in England, when he helped Portugal to the semi-finals and a third-place finish with his nine goals in the tournament.

    Eusebio da Silva Ferreira was born in Mozambique and he moved to Lisbon after joining Benfica as an 18-year-old from his local club, Sporting Clube de Lourenco Marques.

    He quickly established himself at the Stadium of Light and was the talisman at Benfica during the club's glory years in the 1960s.

    Mullery praise for Eusebio
    Eusebio helped the Eagles retain the European Cup in 1962 when they beat Real Madrid 5-3, and he also scored in two Wembley finals as the club lost to AC Milan in 1963 and Manchester United in 1968, while he played in the 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in the 1965 final.

    He was the 1965 European Footballer of the Year and finished as runners-up twice, in 1962 and 1966, and in 1968 was the first winner of the Golden Boot Award, as Europe's leading scorer, a feat he repeated five years later.

    Eusebio was the Portuguese First Division's top scorer seven times, and he helped Benfica to 11 league titles and five national cup wins.

    His last game for Benfica was in June 1975.

    He would celebrate 72 years in 20 days. Also in 20 days marks the 10 year "anniversary" from Feher's death.

  4. The curse of the minute 92. Porto scored their winning goal against Benfica at the 92'. Chelsea scored at the 92'. And the goals at the Europa League final were scored by Torres (#9) and Ivanovic (#2)...

  6. Having watched the end of the other semi-final and seeing Benfica go through the traditional Portuguese performance of time wasting, diving and general cheatery, I hope Chelsea have got another 8-0 left in them. Portuguese football is vile.

    Lol. Watch the 1st match, from last week and see Fener doing the same thing, watch the game until the 3-1 and you will see the same thing. Liking it or not is a way to play and EVERY TEAM does this. I want to see if Villa is not safe from relegation until the match against Wigan and they do this what you will say? That they don't deserve to be in the Premier League? This is the first european final for Benfica since 1989, they lost the first match, and now 1 goal from Fener would knock them out...

  7. No idea. Where's Mister_Master when you need him?

    Here. Only saw one game, against Dinamo Kyiv, and he is ok. He has been playing mostly on the reserve team and scored a goal. He is good with is feet for someone that tall and is a good header too. He may be the substitute of Rolando that is on his way out of Porto.

  8. Official: Witsel 40M, Hulk 40M.

    FC Porto signed Hulk, Falcao, and Lisandro Lopez for €11.73m euros and sold them for €114m. (stolen from twitter)

    Porto and Benfica are examples of what having a great scouting system in place can do.. they are also very good in the south america market.

    Hulk was around 20M;

    Falcao 4M;

    Lisandro - 3M.
