  1. Guzan - no chance with goal - but looked a little shaky all night, couldn't really see the advantage of playing a number 2 keeper.

Beye - mostly sound, but seems to get caught out of position.

    Shorey - good game tonight

Cuellar - not for me, caught facing wrong way for goal

    Davies - Sound

Delph - some good passes, impressed me tonight

    Petrov - bit anonymous tonight

    Young - good performance MOTM

    Milner - good

Heskey - dire, really can't see any advantage to playing him at all - should now be 4th choice striker or sold.

Carew - quiet at times - great goal though

in general, we always looked liked conceding, and only looked threatening in fits and starts. Personally i would dispense with squad rotation in defence, and try to come up with a solid unit.

  2. It will all come together soon..

MON is bringing the youngsters through, we will have a significant number of players in their national sides for the next WC. I still have faith that our talented team of players will connect and do well this season.

    five years.. be patient.

What Youngsters is he bringing through ?For the most part MON seems to ignore them........i would like to see Lowry/Clark get a game at CB against Liverpool - but chances are Beye will play CB

  3. Cuellar along with Heskey are the mainstay of our problem. I ve never seen Cuellar have a good game for us - he looks far to slow, his passing is poor, his tacking seems ok - but thats not nearly . enough at this level. Davis I accept has been equally poor for a while now....but he has had some good games for villa - WTF is going on with that shoulder.....why wasn't it sorted in the close season.

Cuellar came with a big fee and some reputation - to me he hasn't justified it and is in the team purley because there is no alternative. As soon as a cb is signed he should be ousted to the bench.

  4. Well as I am named after Andy Lochhead

I've seen us in Div 3 and Div 2

Its fair to say I,ve stuck through them through thick and thin

And I tell you what - Im not happy.

and I haven't been this unhappy since McNeill - I wasn't this unhappy under DOL - I just lost the heart under him.

This surely has to be an over reaction mate?

We finished 6th the other year, 6th again last season while being just 10 points off Champions League football. Yes, we've lost 1 game this season and that makes it worse than any point during the DOL era?

    Madness!

    3

And I tell you what , whether you like it or not, I

hope it is MON's fault coz at least I'll have my dream back !

Well is it Randy who puts Milner at RB ?

Was it Randy who sold Cahil - brought knight - then sold him ?

Was It Randy who signed Heskey ?

Randy may not be beyond reproach. But I think MON has let us all down, with the players he has and hasn't brought.

  5. Your posts suck mate.

If you went to the match today u would have realised that we could/should have lost 6-1.

Post on poster much? I'd have thought you'd be more careful with a yellow card against your name. My posts are, in the main, well put together. The spelling is passable, the prose is readable, the capitalisation in the appropriate places.

Holding a different opinion to you doesn't mean the "posts suck" as you so eloquently put it.

And, thank you for your interest, but I was at the game today. Sitting in my new seat in the North Stand. I saw both of Wigan's goals in all their technicolour glory. We were poor and Wigan played well, but 6-1? Whatever you say, whatever you say "mate".

a few people I have spoke to said we got off lightly at 0-2

  6. Actually is it all about Martin Laursen - remember his first season - we started ok, then went on a dire run, Laursen came back from injury , and we looked good. Last season when laursen got injured we slowly fell apart. Of course he signed Carew and Ashley young, but now his working relationship with carew at the least seems very strained, I still like young, but people are saying now he's not so you.

3 wins in 19 games is it ? .........could anyone else do better .....I think they could . so I voted MON Out. hell get ten games or so, but today he shifted Milner, (a star for england in midweek) to full back, and persists with Heskey ............he really is signing his own exit papers

  7. Does MON really have money to spend though I mean how do we really know Randy will give him money???

MON says he has funds - we have beleive that. If he came out and said he didn't I would have a tad more sympathy.....but not much he has wasted loads of money on Heskey, Cueller, Shorey,

  8. Cheerio MON

grow up dickhead, where were you when we had O'Leary and doug and you went into games like this expecting to lose?

Quit the abuse - MON is continuing the shite performance as a manager he did for most of 2009 and at various times before. The time may well be here for him to accept it that he hasn't got what he needs to take this club forward and think about what is best for us

and the midless fans that we are lucky enough to have once again find it easier to criticise

how many are willing to boo, how many will slate him without actually being able to offer anything constructive

we are losing, and its shit but sack MON? and do what then exactly? curbishley is looking for work still

Ill boo him......whoose up for it ?

  9. Where was the defence for the second goal ?

Mon is easily the most over rated manager in the premiership he really is.

Yeah he can motivate but my god his transfers are shite his tactics are shite and his decision making like not making any changes are shite !

Don't think Carew is particulary motivated the moment

  10. Local radio says carew was named as a sub - but injured his foot in the warm up. Sounds highly unlikely, he looked well pissed off against florienta , rumours are that he and heskey squared up to each other in a peace cup match - more likley he's pissed after averaging 1 goal in 2 games last season - that a bloke who has 2 in 13 - gets in the team ahead of him........and can you really blame him.

this is a weaker side that drew 0-0 with wigan last season.

  11. Well this was touted as a massive window for O Neil - no more accussed the squad strength would be addressed . Even around a week ago he was talking of five more players arriving. I didn't believe him them - like I didn't believe him in April may. I wouldn't say he is dishonest - but when he says signings are on there way - does anybody really believe him anymore.

He has set Heskey a target of 10 goals - which I don't even think he managed at Liverpool - his typical strike rate is 1 in 7 - this will be some transformation.

Basically Im not optimistic - even if you say the squad is the same size - we haven't replaced Laursen , and Delph looks a fine prospect - but doesn't have the premier experience of Barry. Luke Young and Curtis Davis are still carrying last seasons injuries.

The 11 that goes out v wigan today - I don't see in any department is better than the team we were putting out last winter - at best an unconvincing 1-0 victory is the best I can see.

While it is to painful to ponder, whats gnawing away at most villa fans, is the stark reality that MON, whilst a decent manager, isn't the great manager once billed, he's not a Clough, Ron saunders, - i will be kind an put him in the Ron Atkinson, Brian Little class. - they both acheived silverware under Ellis. Hope Lerner has his eyes on a replacement around christmas time
