I thought i would never say this, but after yesterday hes got till September the 1st in my opinion. And that means no Sol Campbells or Shorey style panic buys. Serious Money needs spending quickly, or we are fooked.
Its not just me either. The common view from %90 of the fans around me and in the pubs after, was that Martins lost the plot. Now im sure there will be some lick martins shit lemming brigade will say thats not true, and if so, then all i can say is that they never went to the game.
January, our form since Feb, this summers inept recruitment, his clueless team selection and substitutions, and his treatment of big John and NRC has got me near to the end of my tether with him.
And another thing, get shot of Heskey. I would prefer Harewood in front of that peice of lard.
Sorry for such a negative post, but im still fooking annoyed, and Martin had better wake up and smell the coffee.

I'm delighted with where we stand. Currently 2nd in the league. I'd take that right now.

We need more signings, end of.
If we are the same squad wise come Sept 1st, then im afraid the moaning minnie brigade may have a new member.
Other than that, im still fairly optimistic for the season, its just that i think the above will play its hand at some point.
Signings = 5th and a chance of a trophy
No signings = 8-10TH, and a few disgruntled people

Adventurers for me!
Is it membership in there this season sparey?
Was in there last week, but was to peeed to ask

I usually set out from my Harborne home at eleven, and get into the Aston Hotel by 11 thirty. The kids nip off to the club shop for a progam and a spout of shop lifting, whilst i then take a nip over to the witton arms for a punch up.
That done, i then go back to Aston hotel to meet the kids, and cover my eyes with the nicked sunglasses.
We then climb over the wall to take our seats.
After the game, we have a great time throwing stones (kids) House bricks (me) throw the travelling fans coach windows, before my customary puking in a policemans hat session.
We all then wonder happilly back into the Aston Hotel for some lager, crisps and skunk. ( Well it relaxes the kids after an exciting day)
No seriously :winkold:
Aston Hotel, Witton Arms, and occasionally the adventurers.
If you see a large guy, with his daughter, 2 sons, one with ginger hair, then come over and say hello 8)

no, he's a word removed. Just like Dwight Yorke IMO.
Not like Dwight Yorke at all.
Yorkie wanted to go and play at a higher level with the best club in Europe, Barry decided to better his bank account with a mid table team :winkold:

My other point i forgot to add was:
6) Games get changed so often its hard planning ahead for games. Last season i had a to miss a few games just because i planend for it to be at one time then a few weeks before it changed. My mate hasnt renewed because of this!
Im with you on that. Wish Football was only a staturday at 3PM job, with the odd Tues/weds fixture. But now you can play on anyday and at anytime, just to please the TV schedules.
Though with a season ticket, you can sell your seat(s) if you cant make the game.
-
I know he probably past it, but his contract with MLS is up in the air....
Be honest now....as a 4th or 5th choice striker....wouldnt you want him over The Hare?
No
The Hare is a legend in peculiar kind of way

actually on second thoughts if your even doubting going to the Villa, then don't **** bother. There's enough fickle folks on the forums, the last thing we need is those sorts actually turning up to games.
Yeah, buts thats part of the fun of going. Listening to the shouts of NRC is shite, Gabby is a clearing in the woods ect, ect, ect.
Its funny

Jeez,
You went through the Ellis years and NOW you're questioning keeping your ST
I think its up to him as an individual what he does, but i think there are one or two others out there that think the same as him.
Personally, my beleif is your not supporting (and thats the key word) the manager or Randy, your supporting the club you were born into supporting through thick and thin.
Have your beef about not replacing Barry and Laursen, Squad size ect, but you will heared more loudly as a season ticket holder or someone that attends regularly, than sitting at home watching the Sky four.

VillaBoyJay,
Im 100% behind you on this. Our soldiers put themselves at risk for the safety that we can all sit within a football ground without the risk of being blown to little peices. These boys are heroes in the true sense of that, and ask nothing back other than to be treated with dignity.
We ALL who them big time.

Hi General,
Its great being a Villa fan, as i know you would agree.
A few of the boys and Girls on this forum (and proberly others) are busy emailing a certain Mr Sneijder about the benefits of coming to Villa Park.
Just wondered if you would like to do the same?

Observations from today:
Delph shone against strong opposition and will fit into the premieship like a hand in a glove.
Albrighton will get plenty of game time this season and looks the real deal.
Clark is good enough to be our 4th choice centre back.
John Carew will have strong competition for a starting berth if Heskey can continue his pre season form. The guy looks lean and mean.
Dead on.
We still need that extra class though. Hopefully, this wee we will get it 8)

Just back - lot's of positives but I must say I still think we're a bit light. I liked Delph but have to agree that he's no Barry, at the moment. I'd like to see him play alongside Petrov though and he's certainly a very bright prospect.
Albrighton is a very good player, I really think he's the real deal, and he may force MON in to turning one of Young/Milner/Downing into a central midfielder (my hunch is that Downing was bought with this in mind) Lichaj did OK but very pleased we've got Beye. Gabby looked much more like the one that started next season to me, he didn't get much service but he did really well today - I'm stating here that I think he could be the surprise man this season. I also thought that Cuellar was much better than most others have posted, he was all over everything in the first half and passes the ball so intelligently, as a big fan of Davies I'm sad to say that he hasn't looked himself for the last 6 months, he was poor today in his positioning and distribution. Finally Nicky Shorey...all I can say is 'get well Freddy!'
My starting line-up for next week would be:
Friedel
Beye Davies Cuellar Shorey
Albrighton Petrov NRC Milner
Young
Carew
Guzan, Gabby, Delph, Sidwell, Clarke, Heskey
No Sneijder in that line up Steell. Not confident then
Clarke looks quite a prospect aswell. Some great kids coming through 8)
-
It may be because I was watching him more than anyone else, but Delph has star written all over him. Very composed performance against a top quality side.
The first ten minutes or so he was running around like a headless chicken, then something just clicked for him and he ran the show. He looks a superb player.
I like. Man of the match.
Agreed, but would prefer the finished article in there. Tell you what though, he aint phased is he!
Great confidence, great touch and so much ability. Great signing!
-
Just got back, and im a little worried again.
Anybody who watched todays game and came away happy is deluded. Anybody who still clings to the hope that Delph will fill Barrys boots THIS SEASON, is on drugs.
Our weakness was shown today, and i confidently predict a dissapointing draw against Wigan next week.
Its so blooming obvious that we need a strong midfielder with some drive and vision, plus a goalscorer in front of him....people who can make things happen. If we go into next week without having done something about that, then forget about a top six finish.
We need quality now Martin.
Plus points.....
The kids yet again. Fonz was very lively after replacing a rather looking leggy Gabby. The kid at right back was solid, Clarke looks a great prospect, and Albrighton again, showed how and where to deliver a ball.
In fact, if we have not brought the necassary reinforcements in by next week, i would start with Albrighton, and move Milner inside to support Carew.
-
Might be going, depends on what time the BinL gets out of work, or the trains on the way back.
-
Anybody got any idea what sort of team we might put out? Imagine Gabby Gardner and Milner might get a run?
Just a quick question as I was thinking about driving down.
(Couldn't find anything in the matchday)
I dont think Martin has much idea of what team he will be putting out
-
Looks like we will be home after the next game.
Better to have MON back in the UK anyway, on the spot to sign players left right and centre.
Depends on whom those players are and how many. Will he do it?
Personally im waiting for the lets wait to January line, and we all start over again

General Krulak here:
1. the_villa_dome: I am very sad to hear about villabromsgrove...a regular poster on this site and a great Villa Fan. I hope you will tell him that we are all praying for him and wishing him a very speedy recovery. He is a true claret and blue Villa Fan and we need him cheering on the lads as soon as he can. Would you please give him my personal best...and tell him that I know he will be back on his feet soon and look forward to seeing a post from him. A good bloke!!
2. Eamon "D": I really enjoyed the quotes....I had seen many of them before but never laid out the way you presented them. Obviously those quotes are indicative of a very proud history...and we are dedicated to bringing a very bright future. Thank you so much for posting them.
3. WhenSaturdayComes: I believe I can assure you...without question...that MON can count. He knows the numbers. He knows our players...he sees them every day in practice...he sees them individually and as a group....he sees them during games. MON also has a good idea of who is available...not just in the UK but around the football world. He is fully aware of all the things that you are aware of....and more! My recommendation is to let MON do his job. We trust him, we would like you to trust him.
Thanks General.
I do trust Martin, and my loyalty and backing for you and Randy aswell as Martin, is unwavering. I do beleive that everything that can be done, is being done. It can be frustrating sitting on the outside looking in though, hence some of negative posts you can find on here.
Can i ask you then, do you ever feel frustrated when things dont seem to be progressing as you thought?
-
Hi General, glad to see your on the mend.
Do you think the size of our squad (at this moment) is capabe of handling 4 compititions, and doing well in them?
There are one or two worried people around, and though i trust in Martin, i think hes got a very big job to get the numbers up to a level that we can compete effectively.
Sorry if i sound negative, dont mean to be

I want Martin to turn this around and succeed, i really do. But what i witnessed yesterday was ominous. I have not seen as much dissent since Oleary.
Was it just me or did they look clueless?
I hope to god im wrong, but that performance felt like hes lost the dressing room.
Hell, he was just standing there gobsmacked.
Like the rest of us.
