    Not an option.

This. Its imply not an option, if we were to go down i'd really fear for us turning into another leeds. Big club but just staying in the championship for a number of years.

If we survive this year the club need to recognise we wont scrape by every year and eventually it will catch up to us like it did wigan  and the summer would have to see us spend premierleague money on premierleague quality players.

Oh NO. Aston Villa, a PL club, needs to spend money on PL quality players. The horror.

    Wake up Lambert

Sorry R.I.C.O I have an unfashionable view the way things are and I would like my club to be around in another 100 years.

We earn more money than the majority of the league. We should never be in a position where we are worried about survival in the league or financially. The fact we have to worry about both shows how truly awful the man you continue to defend has done.
Aren't villa right in the middle of the league money wise?

Thought we were 9th last time the figures were released. Either way we should never be in a position where we are worried about surviving in the league or financially.

Does that mean that we are 10th (with Celtic being probably above us) in terms of revenue in the whole of the UK?

And we are pottering about near 16th place?

Shame Lerner. Shame Lambert. Shame Faulkner. Shame current administration.

  3. Guzan - 8

    Westwood - 3

    Delph - 11

    Weimann - 7

    El Ahmadi - 2

    Clark - 7

    Vlaar - 7

    Luna - 2

    Agbonlahor - 8

    Baker - 2

    Bacuna - 5

    Benteke - 25

    Lowton - 5

    Kozak - 7

    Tonev - 1

    Sylla - 1

    Albrighton - 500k ( 6 months on contract)

    Herd - 1

    Okore - 5

    Bowery - 500k

    Helenius - 1

    $102,000,000

    Picks of the bunch:

    1. Benteke - 25 - Young and great potential
    2. Delph - 11 - Young, british. Would be worth 15 if he was at tottenham.
    3. Guzan - 8 - solid player good age for GK
    4. Agbonlahor - 8 - still 3-5 years of pace left. would be a great get for about 15 other PL teams
    5. Weimann - 7 - 22 yo striker who scores some goals and has a great work rate.
    6. Kozak - 7 - top el scorer in 2013, scored goals for an average villa side before injury, good age
    7. Vlaar - 7 - solid and now with PL experience
    8. Lowton - 5 - 24 yo and at least better than hutton
    9. Bacuna - 5 - young, can play in a variety of positions and can score fks
    10. Okore - 5 - young, highly rated

The rest really are all potential or squad players.

  4. Lambert is tactically inept. Y sit back against a team who love to keep the ball and pass it

Because if you close down too much you leave gaps for them to exploit.

He didn't play that formation against Liverpool, should hav played same team swapped in albrighton for gabby

Because Liverpool have more ability to unlock a stubborn defence than Everton, if we'd played like that against Plop, Suarez would've torn us to shreds. Plus Liverpool don't keep the ball in the same way Everton do. Everton are more slow build up types and try exploit players switching off and use the wings. Liverpool play a more fast and free flowing game and get behind the defence with Suarez and Sturridge, the best way to negate that is to stop them putting those balls through.

If it wasn't for one mistake by Vlaar after 75 minutes, and a world class free kick, our tactics today would have completely stopped Everton today.

I'm sorry but this is completely wrong. We set ourselves up to make those mistakes or give a free kick away.

If you are sitting right outside your penalty area for 90 mins there is double the amount of likelihood that Vlaar will make a mistake. This is because there is double the amount of times he must concentrate and defend.

And btw why is everyone so darn happy that we are the new Stoke ffs?

  5. Have to say Downing, I dont think he was massively overrated but he has no pace and can barely beat a man, a half decent cross if you are lucky.

He had some okay performances but probably made to look a lot better than he was by playing with, Barry, Young, Milner, Carew etc. Kind of shows now too, I mean we got 20m for him, still laugh at that fee now.

Yeah I laugh at where that 20 million has gone

Our wage bill must be one of the lowest in the premier league now.

Probably, however, we still have Given, Bent, Delph, Agbonlahor & N'Zogbia on high wages.... and Hutton with his not as high but still reasonably high 30k a week. Plus whatever Delfounso on as he keeps getting mentioned so may be on a high wage too.

30k per week high? We aren't Wolves!

I thought the TV money doubled this season? Randy?

SPEND SOME GOD DAMN MONEY YOU TIGHT FISTED ASSHOLE !!!

We don't get the tv money til summer. And he's just put £90m of his own money into the club... But don't let that get in the way of a rant

    Proof?

  7.

Bent is understandable given the situation we were in. Hutton isn't too bad (although still bad), N'Zogbia is poor but Given is by far the worst. Putting a 35 year old on a 5 year 55k a week contract is absolute madness.

OK ok we get it. You hate Given. Every single time.

The contract truly is shocking though, I have no clue how anyone could ever think that that's a good idea.

I always assumed it was the only way we could get him at the time. That or a higher wage over a shorter term. Gamble that didn't pay off

Ridiculous wages. McLeish really was a Day Tripper.

  8. Jimmy Milner with two assists and a goal tonight against the European champions, and people still think he would leave city for us. Still think if he had gone to utd instead of city he would have played more in cm and be one if the best players in the country. He could've meant that scholes wouldn't have had to come out if retirement.

He has the strength, pace, dribbling skills and passing to play anywhere except centre half. Top Top quality player. I think Man Utd are finished. They won't be able to compete with City long term.
