  1. Time for Houllier and the players to man up now. They need to turn things around and fast. It can be done, so I suppose we have to now wait and see if they have the balls to do it.

    Agreed,

But what scares me is that on paper we should scrape away from the drop in our current position but some of the players don`t look like they could fight their way out of a paper bag at the moment.

BUT if we survive and GH holds on I`m sure all the chaos that`s going on now will only make our youngsters stronger in the long run as I can`t think of a more "under pressure" season as we`re getting at the minute.

Everything seems to be working against the Villa moment it`s like lady luck and karma have taken a huge dump on VP since August.

  2. Is he still here?

Yep. And getting about £72,000 a week for his trouble.

He might as well be of some use and be in the matchday squad then.

My thinking exactly. He wants to play, why put him on the scrapheap?

It makes my blood boil that Pires earns an appearance bonus when he comes off the bench for his weekly stroll.

Crazy really, I take it he`s off in Jan then Gazton?

  3. Good post,

I share the same sentiments and although not an apology in the sense that many are looking for I`m glad that Ged addressed the issue and I think we as Fans are lucky that we have ears to the manager and board of which we can be grateful for.

Many a Club do not have this communication at all.

Although I`m far from impressed with Monday I`m glad our concerns have in the least been heard.

  4. First I`d like to thank both Liverpool and Villa for arranging Gérards testimonial during a busy PL fixture week, as I can`t acknowledge that was a league game played by players whom earn more in a week than many a fan will ever see in a years work.

I share the same sentiments as many that are posting on here even after a good nights sleep if you could call it that, and I`m seriously considering re-thinking my commitment to the Villa ( I drive up from Central London every other week and even fly over when I`m working abroad ) as it seems our senior players have zero commitment to the cause, so why should I especially with the costs that It involves.

I`m also questioning the commitment of "Ged Wood" after the ever present Liverpool love in that I was ashamed in seeing and reading since he joined and was ever present last night, as I feel what support he did have mine included has now disappeared quicker than an Italian Tank Regiment, but where do we go from here in all seriousness.

I`m not expecting any answers as I appreciate the role you have within the club and I salute you sir for coming onto these boards but I feel that low at the mo that we`re more likely to get a USB stick from Julian Assange with more answers than you can give us as.

  5. Sounded to me like he was saying K-mac was not one bit happy about being passed over for the managers job.

How did you work that out?! :?:

Just the way he said joint management doesn't work as if that was one of the offers put to him and how he wanted Kevin Mac to assist him but Kevin Mac didn't want to,it was probably mainly in his body language.

Oh I get ya! You never know though I think Kev may have looked at the Everton battering and Newcastle result and just decided to keep his head down, I hope he stays as a coach though but i don`t think he`d cut it as a "boss" he seems too nice if that makes sense.

  6. Nope, sorry, not imagining it. He gave the distinct impression that there would be no signings in January. He went on to say players may leave thus others may come in which to me pretty much backs up the fact that he is also on a sell to buy remit.

(Unless ofc you sell someone for loads and loads of dosh. Then it's just sell)

    :bang:

Take the Red Pill or the Blue Pill either way it wouldn`t matter with your preconceived imagination, sometimes this boards more depressing than a weekend in Skegness.

  7. At the time some saw sense/appeal in appointing Josef Venglos, likewise some will now see sense/appeal in Bob Bradley who if appointed will - i feel - be as unsucessful as Dr Jo.

Appointing "Bob" would be the final nail in the coffin for me.

But wouldn`t be surprising as were doing things on the cheap now.

Any Gulf states want to buy the Villa?! After today I`d be more than happy to sell our "Footballing soul"

I`ve seen a fish out of water fight harder.

  8. General I appreciate you coming on the board and posting you should be commended "whilst flak is flying your replying"

Although there`s still more questions than answers in due course I`m sure they`ll be addressed, I`m just a very worried Villa Fan that`s all.

Enjoy the rest of your day and i`m sure we all on VT await with vested interest ant further developments ( *cough* Martin Jol ) :winkold:

  9. I have thought of someone;

    he's an authoritative

Scottish - Scottish managers are generally very good.

    Doesn't take shit

Never answers a direct question - good for press conferences

    enjoys spending other peoples money

    Is faultless (apparently)

    Currently not under contract

    knows his football

I seriously hope your not talking about Graeme Souness.

    :puke: LoL!

  10. General I know your baring the brunt at the mo but as a fellow military man you can sense the BS a mile away so lets leave the slick PR behind and talk honestly about what has happened.

I`m sorry if this post is more a "venting off" but I along with many other fans are gob smacked at the events which have occurred during today and as paying customers deserve to know what is going on.

My greatest fear that all the investment has been "window dressing" and that our beloved Club will resemble the Cleveland Browns ethos of "a$$es and elbows" which brings me to the point of just how serious is Randy about this "Champs League Dream"? As it appears were losing our best players and lost a fine manager too.

Randy may be the owner on paper but were the main proprietors and it`s "our" Club if he wants to treat it with contempt then I suggest you pack your bags and head back over the pond as the natives are getting restless.

Once again sorry for the post ( and sorry to fellow VT`ers ) I wish I hadn`t of had to write something like this but`s it`s as if we`ve been "un-plugged" from the matrix so to speak.

  11. This is one rumour we will actually get to the bottom of. Friday will reveal all, if he's still here.

Dear oh dear, there really are no genuine people left in football.

The only "Loyal" people left in Football are the fans unfortunately.

All the more reason to get behind the lads at home no ones bigger than the Club ( god McGrath excluded :) ) but we`ll kick on I`m sure and we`ll be fine.

I`m hoping the door hits his a$$ on the way out.

  12. if whats been said is true,i hope when he signs for that bunch of rocket polishers he gets crunched and **** up in his first game,we pay the little **** wages now nobody else.fine him now, tell Man City to pay up what we want by the end of the week.if they dont id let him sit on the bench for the rest of the season c.nt..

Argument / Falling out during "amicable" talks following a refusal to play in Portugal.

Could be wrong though don`t take it as gospel, I just hope it`s sorted as quickly as possible.
