  1. Took us 9 games to get 10 points last season. We have done it unbeaten and only letting 1 goal in, very impressed. As part of out progression i wanted us to be hard to beat and it's looking like we are. Credit to Lambert for bringing in experience, who at first i disappointed with. Long may it continue.

no team has scored against us yet, this was an own goal .................. now is the time to judge lambert and as i've said in previous posts he needs our support for being a man, never ran us down and always gets on with his job. master class bringing in keano IMO..........UTV

  2. cleverly should sack his agent as he almost blew the best deal for his player, i'm a bit surprised that players allow such people to represent them as it's their career that they are putting in these peoples hands, i'm sure they can think for themselves. although i think this a strange signing i would have gone for ben arfer who offers a great deal if you get him in the right frame of mind, still i will get behind cleverly and give him every chance of success at the villa........UTV

  3. i wish i could become a millionaire by doing shit at my job. some people are born lucky and become unappreciative of what they have. may i sugest us trying usane bolt in a pair of football boots because hes quicker than gabby.

  4. at the end of the day we all have our opinions we all know what our club has become. we all need to stick together throughout this frustrating period and focus on the season ahead. whatever will be will be we as fans can't change that so lets just get behind our great club, onwards and upwards hopefully.........UTV

  5. villa own a fair few plots of land in and around vp, the gaming industry had nothing to do with sponsorship of football clubs but was willing to hand out gaming licenses to draw business to its cities . randy thought he would steal a march by buying the biggest club in birmingham and building casions on the land villa owns.this backfired when they changed the gaming law in 2006 and withdrew invitations for companies to open such industries. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2005/19/contents... this IMO is what attrcted randy lerner to our great city, he had an hidden agenda........UTV

  6. what you have all failed to mention is the shirt sponsorship deals, supposed to have been the most luctrative in our history.............where did all this cash go aswell, straight in his pocket is my guess. i still say in todays global football infastructure doug would have done a better job.lerner came over when the gaming industry was offering gaming rights for casinos and he thought he would steel a march by buying AVFC and adding a casino within our villa empire, then all of a sudden they withdrew all this and randy realised his plan had failed and now he wants out. i hear he has even sold the coach park and is looking to offload pubs and land belonging to villa thats why the asking price has dropped. but hey we will never know because he tells us nothing, even his closest dog charles krulak has been muted.........UTV

  7. have to disagree with you there lexion, doug was open and fair with us fans we never sat here waiting like seated dogs with our tongue out waiting on his masters every word. we knew exactly what was going on because he respected us fans, doug in my opinion backed his managers more times than none but dougs biggest downfall was he was impatiant. he is a villa fan through and through and wanted success quickly just like us. in those days there was no sky sports or premier league lavishing clubs with cash he had to do it all on his own.how many of us fans called for managers heads and doug abliged accordingly, do you think lambert would have lasted this long under doug, i think not. we had some great players which doug paid top cash for. what would you give now for the platts, saunders, houghtons, atkinsons, taylors. the list could go on............... so lets be brutaly honest here doug never treated us like we were a bunch of nuckle thumping pricks the way that lerner is treating us so i say things in todays market would have had doug purring with all this cash and we would be in a better position playing side wise. so i say lerner should piss off to his salemites and hand the keys back to doug........UTV

  8. Just joined on here after watching over about speculation talk the last few weeks, but today heard something which i thought i could share. You can disagree with me all you want but the simple thing i've heard is that Merson has said we've sold to an American owner who he said will be announced actually in September and also that he was the one who wanted Roy Keane in and Lambert wasn't actually a fan of the idea. This has come through a friend who is close with Merson and drinks with him, alot. Again i know how this works with most people calling stuff like this rubbish, but this is no lie, we will just have to wait n see.

    BTW welcome aboard m8

so if this is the case this potential new owner must be giving out instructions of the future of the club. lambert has said there will be more signings after the world cup so is he sanctioning these deals or will they be freebies. we have had so many ITK comments now i take them all with a pinch of salt but the fact still remains the same we are not going into the season with vast investment and given our start with fixtures our confidence level be as low as it was at the end of last season. the players that are coming back from serious long term injuries need to hit the ground running and for the ones that didn't perform need to be stand up and be counted. i feel january transfer window will be too little too late as this means we end buying other clubs cast offs, we need new players with pre season and games under their belts to give a remote chance of even competing. so as this new owner in september he needs to get a move on and get it done before this window closes.......UTV

  10. i'm all for change apart from team name and colours, there are things that can be accepted but the two i mentioned makes us who we are and where we come from. change the name of the ground but one stand name should remain unchanged! need i say more.......UTV

  11.

**** nonsense to be honest mate.  I follow football because I love the game and Aston Villa were the club closest to my heart growing up.

In my lifetime, I've seen us win TWO TROPHIES.  That's 27 years of winning, essentially, **** all.  I have no entitlement to winning things.  I'd love to see us win another European Cup; I doubt this will happen.  Despite how most people feel about certain footballers, I love the fact we've fielded Agbonlahor, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Gardner etc. as local lads playing for a local team.

Chelsea have none.  Man City have none.  If this is the route we all want to take, fine - let's just get bought out by someone who has no emotional connection to the club and sell our soul.  If there is substantial financial backing, the youth setup will be obsolete; or, to further, it will exist but be pointless.  See: Chelsea, Man City.

If you're asking me what I'd prefer; a backer throwing £1bn at our playing staff at us being instantaneously successful or having a poor owner who cares for the club, but we get relegated I'd take the latter everytime.

Surely success breeds money breeds success?

I can't imagine it was an entirely level playing field even back in the Victorian era when we were smashing all-comers to win the league so many times, and the double.

I also don't think we'd necessarily see a decline in the youth system.  If anything we'd be more attractive because better players want to play for successful clubs, however old they are.  If we were a Champions League team would Dan Crowley have left for Arsenal?  Look how many academy players feature for Real, Barça, Bayern.  Liverpool and Yernited too.

Quite how anyone can think that a serious level of investment would destroy the soul of this great club, pioneers of league football across the world, the fourth most successful club in English history (despite winning practically bugger in the best part of 80 years) and one time Champions of Europe is beyond me.

We're going against the tradition and foundations of the club right now by being crap.  They don't give out trophies for moral victories I'm afraid.  And William McGregor founded us to be the best club in the world, not to win debating competitions down the pub.

victorian era ya cheeky f***er......lol. i'm only 46.............UTV

Would Tevfik Arif be classed as an American buyer?

. i'm guessing it could be someone we haven't heard of yet........UTV

Very likely.......like Ann Summers or someone?

At least VP would be buzzin' again

imagin the halftime entertainment, would be interesting.....UTV

  13. Would Tevfik Arif be classed as an American buyer?

this is just another name in the mix of many, so who says he's defo interested. i think we'll have to wait and see where this lottery ends up and who is the eventual winner. i'm guessing it could be someone we haven't heard of yet........UTV

  14. i'm new to waza so welcome. i have heard things to but due to some type of premier league rule you cant announce anything for 30 days after putting the club up for sale. that date is 11th June before any announcment can be made official anyway.

  15. i have seen villa win european cup, super cup, 2 league cups and the league.............. and i want more so i think people with their old beliefs ( nothing wrong with that ) should face the facts that we need to step into an industry that no longer harbours them sentiments and thoughts ( and i hate it ) . the good old days will never leave me but i'm a realist and firmly believe you have to invest loads of cash to achieve what we once had. Blackburn started this buying the league philosophy and i'm affraid this is the only way forward. so yeah we need a billionaire to have villa as a pet project and pump us with loads of money...UTV

  16. yeah $3 billion is what i'm reading, ok so the artical points to him not being a saint but he was aquited of any wrong doing by court of law. and i aint bothered about his past as the saying goes you can't make a good omlet without cracking a few eggs, who thinks abramovich is a saint , i would prefer someone more open and honest tbh but in todays society good guys always come last. be honest would you really trust another yank who has bullshitted us from day one who is secretive and never communicates with the fans or have some one who is going to excite you, with his contacts in football who knows where we could go so i say lets jump on this crest of a wave and see where it leads us......UTV

  17. hi folks hope you are all well, been reading posts for the last month a feel i need to join in some of the debates, i'm a villa fan of 45 years and a season ticket holder of 29 years, just renewed for next season along with my 2 sons, my youngest is 7 and this will be his first season ticket. looking forward to joining this great community and hopefully my input will add to this site..........villa till i die....UTV
