  1. Maybe a little off-topic but does anyone have any idea how the press throughout Europe are responding to the newfound spending power of the Premier League?  Someone earlier pointed out how crazy it was that aside from the top European teams any club in the PL can pretty much outbid any other side on the continent.  Am I over-egging it or does it have shades of the dominion Real and Barca have over Spanish football?

How worried/pissed are they in Spain, Italy, France, Germany etc?  How about the fans?

think aswell as the tv money its all to do with how strong the pound is compared to the euro that helps too.

Oh.... would you look at that on this link which you are dismissing Guthrie has 21 appearances..... yet no Bannan.

    http://www.ftbpro.co...gue-last-season

Bannan was very unlucky not to start his 19th game. He cannot say he's played half a season of Premier League football.

    irrelevant.

No it's not, the filter is based on starts not appearances.

Guthrie had 19 starts and 4 substitute appearances, for a total of 23 appearances.

The filter is based on starts, with 19 - half a season worth - as the cut off point.

Bannan, with 18 starts is below the filter. If they did it on appearances Bannan 24 appearances would have him included on the list.

they say guthrie had 21 apperances if it was starts wouldnt it be 19 as you say?

  3. if i understand con is using a site to get his stats from that counts crosses that got into the danger area ie box as a completed cross not what we would assume as a completed cross ie hit one of our players statistics are decieving when used this way.

Football's a physical game so if you play in midfield at the top level you have to offer something physical unless you're really really good like Messi. Bannan offers zero physically apart from giving away pointless and dangerous free kicks.

You are making up statistics. This is the problem with the Bannan criticism. It's constructed out of thin air and innate bias against a player they don't understand.

Bannan didn't give away many "pointless and dangerous free kicks."

He committed only EIGHT fouls the entire season in 18 starts.

Only Jordan Bowery and Simon Dawkins had a lower fouls per game rate. http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/24

    Unbelievable.

    Oh dear 1-0 Con.

question that needs asking how many tackles he made/attepmted

  5. i got a hree sony smartwatch with my upgrade its very useful as i now hardly miss a phonecall due to it vibrating on my wrist, only drawback is it needs the phone to control all the widgets ect... and there arent many apps compatible with it, but for free i wasnt compaining. i found the battery if you have it set to read tweets, text messages ect.. lasts about 18hrs seen them test it on the gadget show and they loved it you can also set it up so you can answer your phone if you have a bluetooth headset and then theres the neat find my phone feature which tells you phone to ring so you can find it aslong as your within about 10meters or so.

  6. Interesting stattistics and article about academies and how many of them are playing in "Big 5" leagues/divisions

    http://www.sportingi...leagues-131201/

Aston Villa being third in England and 24th in europe altogether isn't bad at all.

thats good info and id be interested in seeing where we are in the list when they do the all time record of how many played in the top divisions instead of those who are currently still playing.

  7. One would presume most managers do their homework before buying - however I think it's worth pointing out the Crewe's boss made a point of saying, from quotes none of the other clubs who were interested in Ashley Westwood had a dossier on him like Villa/Lambert had. Pretty sure one of those clubs was Swansea.

one of those clubs was swansea his old team mate said so in the OS interview that westwood was in talks with swansea before we came in.

  8. I am a good auditor. As a novelist (amateur) - I am pretty shit hot. Sometimes I steal names of thing I see on here to take for character names. For instance Villan is the name of a ship, captained by Big Eck, a big brute of a man with a fiery hue about him, whether it was his withered ginger locks, or the blood that constantly simmered under his skin, and threatening, always threatening to boil over. And when he spoke, there was silence, and not the silence of emptiness, but the silence of the joy getting sucked out of the world. His first man at sea is Morpheus, who is jealous of magic users. One of which is on the ship...and it is gunna call all sorts of shit...

    Anyway this ship gets mutinied...

    sounds like a dnd session.

  9. we forget they maybe young players but most of lamberts buys have had alot of experience playing for thiers previous clubs ashley westwood played 123 games for crewe, joe bennett played 85 for boro, lowton played over 100 games for shefield and ferencvarosi and benteke has played over 100 games for various clubs, so form wasnt the problem for these players getting used to new team mates and the pace of the premier league was/is.

  10. The Norwich game was the first away game I'd been to for a few seasons, I'd almost forgotten how awesome they are. Bought tickets for this as soon as I found out there was some still available. Gonna have to tell the missus I won them from work or something, this close to Christmas.

I think we can get something out of this, especially if Weimann and Benteke keep their shooting boots on.

Anyone know the last time we had back to back wins away from home?

hope your missus dont read this forum
