Thats the only hope we have as if all thw other clubs come together put a stop to it then thats only way. Newcastle can be as rich as they like byt you have no product if the other 19 clubs dont want to deal with you

Its going to eventually be on a knife edge i think when that happens

Oh if only it was as simple as that!!

I read that that was apparently agreed as acceptable for the market rate for that sponsorship somewhere. Which is absurd. Newcastle were relegation candidates barely a year before that sponsorship was announced. Then suddenly they're getting sponsorship from an entity that is clearly related to their ownership for a massive increase in sponsorship income. And that's acceptable.

Absolutely obscene and the more I think about it the more I wonder what the **** point is.

Related Party Sponsorship is allowed under PL rules and to counteract that the Fair Market Value panel was set up to prevent over inflated sponsorship deals. Any related sponsorship of Newcastle will likely have been approved before being announced.

Training Ground and Training Kit are next, another biggie potentially stadium naming rights. The potential for commercial growth is huge and will be exploited to increase turnover.

Your shitty little club is irredeemable, you've no history of success and anything you win from now into perpetuity will forever be washed in blood. Way aye mate, enjoy.

Think you need to check our history, yes our last domestic trophy was in 55 but now we can compete with the so called big 6 on a more level playing field. We’ll disrupt the established order and that ‘annoys’ teams like ManU etc

Because of who owns them, how they financed their big spending, the luck they’ve had in certain games. The embarrassing media wankfest and tin pot antics on social media e.g. “sob on the Tyne” when we lost. Or the amount of fans having MBS on their Twitter bios.

All the reasons you cite for your dislike of Newcastle is nothing more than envy, nothing more nothing less.

    No. We have Unai Emery.

It's ok to disagree on some things.

No, you’re blind to what’s going on at Newcastle, it’s either luck, the opposition was shite or they’ve bribed the refs. Howe has built a cracking side, he’s an excellent coach. Villa are doing superb under UE and I for one look forward to a difficult game on the 15th.

It's still a different dynamic to largely playing one game a week. Don't forget they also went out of FA cup at 3rd round stage. They'll improve their first 11 but they'll still need the likes of Trippier, Bruno Guimaraes and Isak to stay fit to have a serious go at 4th next season.

West Ham spent loads in the summer but it wasn't strategic at all.

I was actually surprised they're still "only" on 47 points despite winning the last two and having that mass winning run up to the world cup break. We had about 52 points going into February in one of the MON seasons so just shows how badly we collapsed in the last three months to just about scrape home in 6th.

We’ve been beat 3 times in the league, twice by Liverpool and Man City……….and 🤞for the CL

I'm not saying it's isn't a shabby rate. It's exceptional, in both senses of the word. Do you not see that 7.5m is falsely inflated? And only paid because the company that is paying it effectively owns Newcastle?

What on earth have Newcastle achieved to warrant having the 7th highest sleeve sponsorship deal in the league and more than 5m more than anyone outside the sky 6?

I guess it’s what someone is willing to pay and related party sponsorship is allowed.

Sadly, you're right. The league shot themselves in the foot by signing off on Newcastle's deals as they go along. How on earth they thought the new sleeve sponsorship deal represented fair market value is beyond me, not to mention the fact that it is half funded by an associated party.

No sane, legitimate, independent business is paying 7m to be on a clubs sleeve that isn't in the champions league.

These deals (and whatever deals were made to allow Saudi Arabia to own Newcastle) are what will eventually be scrutinised if an independent regulator comes in.  Chances are, that independent regulator will be corrupt anyway.

Any independent regulator will be government appointed, therefore not really independent. Re sponsorship, I understand that £10 million a season is standard for sleeve sponsorship of CL teams so £7.5 million a year isn’t too shabby for Newcastle.  Everything is up for sponsorship at Newcastle, Shirt, Ground, training ground, training kit etc etc so the potential is huge.
