  1. If this was Cash that gave the penalty away the Cash thread would be red hot with abuse, not that I think Konsa should get abuse, far from it, he is a class defender, I think our best defender, today he gave a penalty away it happens its football, we go again, one more win & I think we get Champions league football, should be backing our players when they need us most but unfortunately, this place is turning toxic ... so I'm checking out till this season is done & everybody has calmed the **** down. In Emery I trust 👊

  2. Love the support of Villa fans always trying to lift our players when struggling, just one of those games where nothing went our way & everything went the other way, we've had some luck this season also, it's football but the way fans just start slating players is ridiculous, it's why I stay off here for a few days, because seriously the season we've had people forgot very quickly & can't wait to jump on poor performance, I believe we're still in this game Specially with Emery at the helm. Onto Sunday

The pause was the most sensible and obvious thing imaginable and the fact so many people fail to grasp the legitimate reasons despite all the PSR and FFP discussions that have swirled all season. It's boggles the mind tbh

Said it a while back, the clue is in the word pause 🤦‍♂️ made perfect sense at the time, everything Heck said was very true, but people went on to think he'd cancelled it, then that snowballed into new stadium rumours when all along the club have said there is nothing in it & openly admitting they did look at the idea earlier when they first arrived but ended on the plans for the new North Stand.

  4. Emery knows 🤔 I really think if we get a big offer in the summer he goes. I've loved him ever since he arrived, been a huge part of where we are today, but on the eye test recently there seems something missing from him recently, hope he can get it back.

  5. I really don't see him going anywhere, I really do see him as our very own Diego Simeone, who will be here for years  don't think he gets what he has at Villa at any other club, Man is a footballing genius, oh & Wes & Sawiris new contract for Emery please end of season 👍 god its great being a Villa fan at the moment 🙌

I would now be fairly confident we are either going to be moving to a new stadium or going for a much more extensive redevelopment of Villa Park to include Witton Lane.

We definitely aren't just going to stay as we are as the poorly communicated December message indicated

    Great shout 👏

  7. So the options are new stadium (nothing coming from the club regards this) redevelopment of North Stand but that's been cancelled (or paused) last option titivate North stand by filling in corners & adding seats ?

  8. 12 1st teasers out Luton today & spurs limped passed them.... when they play that batch of games with all the big boys in it is when they will drop points & alot of points. We got this keep doing what we do 2pts a game & we've got 4th at a canter 👍

  9. Rather just keep what we have & let them all grow together, Mings & Beundia back next season, think we could go closer to the summit & a decent Champions league campaign. Which ever which way the clubs wants to play it I trust in them 100% to do what's right & progress this great club

I think it's worth considering the value of the current North Stand and where our biggest shortfalls in income are. Our matchday income will have gone up in these figures and again in the figures for this season (higher prices, more games) and we're heading in the right direction, albeit miles behind the likes of Spurs who lead the field by a distance. But in the grand scheme of things, the North Stand brings in about £6m a year - or about 2.5% of our income (and falling as our income rises) and it's replacement wouldn't be expected to bring in more than about £15m.

Now £6m isn't nothing, but there are other areas where we are so far behind that it's ridiculous and they should be our priority.

We make around £14m a year for our three main sponsorship opportunities - our shirt manufacturer, our main shirt sponsor and our sleeve sponsor - almost all of the teams we want to compete with have shirt sponsorships at around £40m and sleeves at £6m+.

Spurs make £14m a year from their sleeve alone (and around £85m for the big three sponsorships)

We concentrate a lot when we talk about income and revenue on extra pints, quicker service, season ticket prices and so on, and yes, those things make a difference - but the big one for us has to be getting better value for the big three - hopefully Adidas makes a difference and we can renegotiate on our existing partnerships in the summer - but if we're in the Champions league and we're exciting to watch, there's a £25m opportunity right there, right now - that's why we have Heck and why he's given the licence to do the job in whatever the hell way he likes.

If we can get £20-30m a season more for those three things, starting this summer, that's more than we'll get from next years season ticket sales. That's our weakest area, that's the opportunity,, that's the difference maker.

    Great Post 👏

  11. So does the pausing of the North stand now make sense in the fact that we need gate receipts going forward along with other revenues just to try & compete. The £110 million that it will cost isn't the problem as it doesn't effect ffp but only having 3 stands open & not 4 within a 18 month - to 2 year period would effect our revenue from gat receipts.

Tonight was EXACTLY why I said I didnt want him on in a game where we need a goal. My take doesnt seem so silly now does it?

Was waiting for this 👍 I see your point, I do 👍 he came off the bench against Chelsea in the week to score, so you'd think that would give him confidence coming off the bench in this game but was the totally opposite, Emery"s decision to take Bailey off was bizarre in my eyes, utd had no answer to him, the chance Diaby had just shows there is something up, confidence probably, but if that chance falls to Bailey we score 😞 as for Diaby it's a mirror of Bailey 12 months ago, Emery kept giving him minutes even tho he was poor & come out the other end the player he is now, I firmly believe Diaby will go the same way 👍
