Wait, so you trust your eyes, yet you blame him for the goal that everyone has concluded shouldn't have stood?

Yes. He made a mistake and it lead to a goal.

Just checked, Tyrone Mings has 0 errors leading to goal according to the Premier League.

I trust my eyes over stats. He has most definitely made errors leading to goals. The most recent one being the opening goal for Man City a couple of weeks ago.

I don't think it was anything personal to you, Mings is just one of those subjects that can end up going on and on when he gets brought up, especially since he called the fans out over El Ghazi.

That's fair enough then. I haven't been around long so don't know if it's one of those ongoing things. At least it was on topic though and not just me randomly saying I think he's crap as I've heard some fans say. (I don't think he's crap)

we will not be "upgrading" our £25m england international CB and team leader who is a good player and part of the team ranked 3rd (?) for goals conceded and 2nd (?) for clean sheets

    nor do we need to

We may or may not need to, but why sigh because someone has a different opinion (not that it was you)? the forum would be a bit crap if we all thought the same thing.

It is a bit strange seeing critisism of our defence when we are doing so well defensively I know Emi has been a huge part of that but Hause has had to deputise for 4 games and managed 3 clean sheets!

It's a sign of how good we have been. There is very little to criticize, so we have to pick on the smallest of things.

  6. The very first person I would be looking to upgrade is Mings.

On his day he is up there with the best. The problem is that almost without fail he has a massive error in him every game. It's like clockwork, you know it will come at some point and just hope that it doesn't lead to a goal. And that sort of undoes all the good work that he has done.

A top quality striker would be great. Watkins can fight for a position on the wing.

Mourinho saying again today that Spurs  shouldn’t be punished by having to play multiple games in a week and could refuse to play the game if it’s rescheduled

he can **** right off , if we have 9 players unavailable with Covid then the game is off , Simples

    Where has Mourinho said this?

EDIT: Just done a quick Google search and found some results from a couple of days ago.

Talk that we are working with the FA to see ifnthe game can go ahead, added to mourinho apparently saying he expects it to go ahead.

    A) what a joke, it should be postponed.

    B) why would we self sabotage like this!?!?!?!

It's what we do. Last year we said we were all for the league continuing rather than being voided when it looked nailed on that we would go down.

I don't think they the PL feel any need to give anyone any advanced warning. They postponed Spurs Fulham about 2 hours before kickoff

To be fair the only advanced warning they can give is if it's 100% definitely off. Until then anything can happen. And at the moment it's not 100% off (though likely off)

I was a bit underwhelmed but the more I think of it, the more I like it.  If we can get him for £15m plus some add ons he is proven premier league striker and we need depth.

His stats show he might of been a bit unlucky last season and typically scores or assists every one in two games.

Samatta is not good enough and should be sold/loaned out.

Wesley may be given more time.

Davis actually was unlucky and should have got a couple of goals according to expected goals.  He also had 3.25 shot creating actions per 90 which is really good.  I think he needs a season on loan in the championship to play regularly and score 20 goals and then he will be ready.

If we go into the start of the season with Wilson, Watkins and Wesley as our strikers it is a massive upgrade on last year.

Having high xG with no goals means he can't finish rather than being unlucky.

Or (please no) he could come on as a late substitute, have a good 20 minutes, hit the cross for our late equaliser and never get another game for England.  As was sadly the case for Brian Little below (who was known to walk on water):

Very true. I guess at least with your scenario he may well get the media on his side especially when England fail.

  12. I just get the feeling (hopefully wrong) that Jack will have a bad game (all 5 minutes of it) and that will be the excuse Southgate needs to get rid of him for good.

Every player can have a bad game no matter how good they are, but there will be more pressure on Grealish to perform than anyone else. Lets hope he handles it and doesn't try too hard, just play your natural game.

Similarly center back  with Mings Konsa House and  Engels, Perhaps one to be an upgrade on the latter two, I think that would get us mid table...

I'm of the opinion that after today we should sign Chris Woakes from Warwickshire.

Other than that I would guess we are aiming  at comfortable mid table, So I don't think the right back is an issue. With Freddie Elmo or Konsa  at a push would be ok to get us there.

Similarly center back  with Mings Konsa House and  Engels, Perhaps one to be an upgrade on the latter two, I think that would get us mid table,  We need an upgrade for taylor at left back,  to push Targett, Where we need an upgrade is midfield up front. Some pace and someone like Buendia. Basically 2 people who would take the pressure off Jack. Most teams know if they put three players around him that nullify's us. But if we have three outlets they can't. I don't know who these are, I don't watch enough other football. We don't have to play them all at the same time every game' playing Man City away might require a different set up to Burnley at home. Then we need a forward who can score  so if we have Wesley Samatta and Davies, that won't work. We are not top six yet so we cant go for £80m players, we need someone who will chip in with a dozen or so. So we need to find someone in the £m20/25 who could improve.

You think we're that close to mid table? Talk about optimistic.

  15. Sup?

I've been a lurker for ages, so thought it was about time I actually signed up and contributed. Especially as I'm big on Fantasy Football and I can finally have some Villans back in my team.

I'm from Erdington but ive oop north now. Obviously life long Villan because that's how I roll.
