  1. Hi! Who am I? I'm a fellow Villan from Norway, 30 years of age and working as a copywriter in the (awful) advertising industry. I will not in any way try to sell you anything (other than myself at this very moment). My relationship to Villa: Being a Norwegian, supporting English teams is the norm rather than supporting our local Norwegian teams, which obviously is problematic for our own national league, but again the football they played here was so rubbish compared to what we saw on TV every Saturday and Sunday back in my youth, so I wouldn't blame myself. I have been following Aston Villa since the 1999/2000 season, when the FA-cup tie between Villa and Leeds was chosen as the TV-match at our national broadcasting channel in Norway. There I saw Benito Carbone score that hat-trick, and I fell in love straight away. After that match, I told my parents i wanted a Villa shirt for my birthday with Carbone 18 on the back. I got the shirt, but unfortunately my birthday is late august. And as you probably know, Carbone had moved on to Bradford at that time But as I soon came to realise, my love for Carbone wasn't actually about him. I had fallen in love with Villa. I have only been to Villa Park twice, but never seen them win (0-0 vs Leeds in 2002, 2-2 vs Nottingham Forest in 2016). I will be going again this season, hopefully to witness my first ever Villa win! (Don't tell anyone, but I will actually visit St. Andrews as well, since my travelling buddy is a Coventry supporter.) The reason for joining VillaTalk: I have been reading on this site for some years now, and never really felt the need for taking part in the discussions I've followed. But since we now are back in the PL, and I have some serious concerns for how our squad is looking at the moment, I feel this is the time to ask for a membership (and hopefully get my hopes up sooner rather than later). I'm looking forward to express my frustration and excitement for this beautiful club in the future. W.M.
