Apropos of nothing, just advising that there is a huge Villa contingent assembling in Taupo, New Zealand to watch the game in a pub at 7am. We're coming from all corners of the country and taking over an entire town! Most are there for the weekend, including a pub crawl tomorrow evening. I'm setting off tomorrow morning, can't wait.

Probably been posted in dribs and drabs over the last six hours but just to put it all down in a simple statement:
For the 5th place to go to England in the coefficient
1.Villa need to win all three games in the UECL (not just progress)
2.Germany need to get less than a win and a draw across six semi-final matches for their teams

The coefficient going up the swanny hasn't changed too much in relation to this game, I'd still go pretty full strength. Take each game as it comes from now, 9 max games left.
Martinez
Konsa Carlos Pau Digne
Luiz McGinn
Bailey Tielemans Diaby
Watkins
1-2 away win I reckon.

If Dortmund, Bayern and Leverkusen go through then yeah we won't know till the final probably. If two of those go out then it's done.
You're the stats guy, is it actually done if two of them go out? Cos that is pretty feasible. Would be amazing to have 5th for CL confirmed by next week.

Totally encapsulates the Man United fan mentality. Entitled to an extreme, ignorant, immature.
"That's the biggest ****-ing injustice I've ever seen!"
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.Give yourself more credit than that, mate. That level of entitlement is something one must cultivate for years. I've never met a Villa fan like that in my life.
Yeah, true. I suppose I meant the rage at them attacking and leaving themselves open at the back

Apart from the chair, he's reacting pretty much how I would have reacted and is pretty fair and reasonable with his complaints, have to say.

Trendy new street drug. Base ingredient is legal (Mr. Sheen) so not yet a criminal offence. All the kids are doing it. Also known as 'triple sod' 'yellow bentines' or 'clarky cat'

Limmy doing a full run of Sekiro might be one of the funniest things I've ever seen

I think it is a little odd considering we have a small squad and he can cover three positions.

Bailey - Tielemans - McGinn
Watkins
In the usual 442/4411 shape of course but this is our best attacking 4 imo. Think we should persist with this going forward.
Yeah, came in to say this but also to add that Diaby/Ramsey/Rogers is a) a good lineup of backups for those slots behind Watkins and b) allows all three of them to bed in / get back into form by coming off the bench.
Could Diaby serve as the backup for Watkins with Duran being out?

It's the Russell Crowe effect. Anything great that comes out of Aussie the bloody Kiwis come out and claim them.
Next they'll be claiming Margot Robbie
Not sure if you’re ‘doing a bit’ here but Russell Crowe was born in Wellington.

This 'coming back from injury' slump seems to be hitting double figures at this stage. Could it be that he's not actually that great

I'd swap him for Jackson. Whoop.
I am for real.

I hope nobody looked up Bilbo Baggez from Universidad de Chile..
Problem with him is that he can be a bit invisible on the pitch at times.

I think it's a good draw for us personally. We don't have the squad to win three trophies, or even to win two and qualify for the CL. I never want us to throw a tie, or to embarrassingly lose to Stevenage, so this game is a win-win. Either we win and keep our trophy options open, or lose away to Chelsea which won't particularly raise eyebrows. I really think we can win the Europa Conference.

Two things can be true.
1. Has Jacob Ramsey earned the right for a little more patience from us as fans? Yes.
2. Has Jacob Ramsey been playing crap since he's returned from his injury? Yes.
When everyone is fit and available, I'd be playing Bailey - McGinn - Diaby - Watkins as my front four at the moment, Ramsey needs to rediscover form and quickly. There's too much riding on this season for us to indulge in any sentimentality.
