I think the only worry is Unai doesn’t stay too long in jobs. His longest job was at Valencia for 4 years, he stayed at Sevilla for 3 years and Villarreal for 2 years. He’s not an Arsenal Wenger type who even before he went to Arsenal had spent 7 years at Monaco and had only had 2-3 jobs. We might be different given the control he has been given here plus the fact he is very good friends with Nas by all accounts, but I don’t trust anything in football any more after Grealish left us. Also, Bayern is no small time job or a mess of a club like Manchester Utd. They are one of a few teams who can genuinely win the Champions League and apart from this season have won the Bundesliga pretty much every season for the last decade, and their squad is littered with top, top players.

I think if we finish 4th this season and make Champions League I’d be very confident Unai would stay. If we finish 5th I’m a lot less confident. His answer to the links after Sunday’s game was “I am focused here, 100%”. Great, but that’s not exactly distancing himself from those rumours.

I think he’ll stay at least one more season but we can’t be naive and think he’ll stay forever, you have to prepare for the worst with good contingency planning. Replacing him with a Gerrard like appointment would be a disaster, but bringing in someone of the quality of Amorim or Fonseca would be the sort of thing I’d expect from a well run club.

    Yup.

History will tell you that Emery will leave. When he leaves is difficult to tell.

My worry is I think he still want to prove himself at a giant club after Arsenal.

  2. Issue is that clubs are not showing the same level of energy when decisions goes for them.

Forest would celebrate like crazy if the roles were reversed and they won with Everton denied 3 stonewall decisions.

So ultimately clubs won't be taken seriously  until they stop contradict themselves.

They're not similar at all. Rogers is playing in the Buendia role. There's frightening space for both of them.

They're both ball carriers and can see them getting in eachother's way quite a lot.

Can't see a world where Emery would play them together

  4. Jammiest team I have ever seen.

How they keep getting the rub of the green is insane.

They say it evens out over a season but there is no way it's been evened out in their case

  5. Funny to see Borunemouth constantly playing it long trying to break our lines.

It's such a basic and cheap way to try to counter Unai.

You're basically handing over the initiative of the game to us by doing that. More teams will do it but it will fail miserably.

Playing hoof ball is not a good way to counter Unai.

  6. It's actually insane how he never gets injurd with the amount of games he plays.

He's a physicial freak of nature.

Crazy thing is when I watch him, even in the 90+ minute mark he never look tired.

I can't wait until I can see a fully fit Ramsey running at defences with Rogers. Chaos.

Too similar to have in the same team I recon.

Sometimes I wonder how we've ended up with a manager like this. And then I remember, he's the calibre of manager we should have always had.

And my brother was telling me "you've got ideas above your station" when we sacked Gerrard. And that we are a "mid table club". All thanks to talksport I'd imagine.

Emery is one of the best things to ever happen to this club. I'm lucky to be witnessing this club transform and I firmly believe that he will bring home a haul of trophies for us. He, and the players he works with, gives me enough confidence to say that.

    What a privilege.

It all started with stripping Pursow off footballing decisions and eventually kicking him out

    Key decision in our rise

    I'm worried about United now.

Just got a massive confidence boost after beating Coventry on Pens.

They could go on a run.

They can get a maximum of 68 points if they won all remaining games which of course they wont

Coventry robbed there, not sure how that’s even offside, the lines could’ve been easily switched and no one could’ve told the difference

VAR will find a way when its Man Utd

    They will find something. Anything.
