Tell me about it... One of our best servants of the last few years has a couple of bad games and he's the devil incarnate.

It's so stupid. When you are at work do you go through periods where you work far harder and everything just clicks and you are rocking it. Then do you have periods the opposite where nothing clicks.

I know I do! Give the guy a break!

You are only as good as your last game...

How can we play like we did against Arsenal, and then muster that sad show.

Unai often talks about consistency is his aim......I think the summer recruiting, consistency, will be foremost on his mind.

We some players in the squad, who can negate the threats of opponents, and nullify their enthusiasm and intensity....and regain the initiative, when we lose it.

    We barely have players left

Season been unprecedented in terms of injuries

I think Olsen's biggest flaw isn't any one attribute that he possesses (or doesn't), it's the lack of confidence and panic he inspires in his backline. That has a huge domino effect on the team's performance usually. We don't concede 2 goals per game when he's there because he's bad with his feet or doesn't claim crosses, it's largely because the defence is in relative disarray when he plays. Hell, I have my heart in my mouth whenever the ball is near him and I'm not even playing!

I don't think Diego would have done the things he did if Emi is playing.

Emi is bringing a calmness to the entire backline just by his presence alone.

  4. A mistake fans made before the game was having it in their head that Chelsea is a shit team.

No they aren't. If they were they'd be fighting relegation. They are a point off an european spot.

There are aspects of their game that are really, really strong and I knew that before the game.

When I look at Chelsea nd what they're doing it's far, far more sustainable than let's say Man Utd.

I don't think Chelsea fans would agree 🤣

    Some context here..

Sterling was shite before his injury. Chillwell only player on there that improves them imo

Also shows how ridiculously deep their squad is

  6. I said before the game that Chelsea is a highly unpredictable team.

In terms of xG they are a top 4 team. They create so many chances most games.

Reason they are mid table is because some games they just decide not turning up

Unfortunately this was one of those times they were at it.

Result dont surprise me. Chelsea are a random team knew that before the game.

We are currently have some of the best players we have had for many a year.

I occasionally think, "He is the best since ............"

Here are a selection of pairings of a current player with a star from yesteryear. Who would you pick?

    • Dougie or Gareth Barry (2000's) - making the game look effortless
    • John McGinn or Dennis Mortimer (80's) - captains leading by example
    • Moreno (2023) or John Gidman (70's) - rampaging fullbacks
    • Ollie or Dwight Yorke - (2000's) - silky but deadly
    • Leon Bailey or Ashley Young Mk1 - what are you going to get today?😀
    • Emi Martinez - peerless.

If you are lucky enough to be younger than me, make up your own pairing. Who matches with Mings or Konsa, lots of great centre backs over the years.

    There are no wrong answers.

    Onwards & Upwards!

    1. I will take a prime Barry over Luiz

    2. McGinn easy

    3. Gidman

    4. Ollie, easy

    5. Prime Young slightly edges it

    6. Martinez
