  1. villa 3 utd 1 - draper yorke and whoever else scored that day! i seriously can see bannan inspiring us to a rip roaring victory in HD.
But Bannan will hardly feature. Heskey will be our attacking midfielder as usual.

Which leads me to my next point - what surprises will our genius of a manager spring this time? Gabby at full back? Collins as a striker? Heskey in goal?

    Kendrick has just tweeted:

Word/rumour on the street is that wee Barry Bannan WILL start for #avfc against Man Yoo tomorrow. Let's hope so

    Lets hope so!

  2. Blatter witch hunt alert

he's said in an interview that racism doesn't happen and if it does they should shake hands, Twitter is going tits

I've listened to the interview, the man blatantly hasn't mastered English I can easily interpret what he's saying as there is a racism problem (which IMO by and large there isn't) and regardless of what happened during the match you should still shake hands after ( which I agree with)

    Are you for real?

  3. Wouldn't it of been better for the players to attend one of the services on Sunday like everyone else who wants to pay the respects to those who have died in wars?

  4. Gazton, I uderstand your point and you make it very well.

But the fact remains FIFA do muddy the waters when it comes to politics and football and football isnt neutral. Eg how come Iraq are banned from playing football? How come Denmark won the 1992 Euros?

If this wasnt predominantly British then FIFA would probably be ok. It should be allowed as a message of Rememberence for the Soldiers and nothing else.

It seems a folly that there will be a service before the game and representitive of the armed forces there. That is surely at the same level as having a poppy on the shirt.

What I am most disgusted about is the fact that the Scots, Welsh and N. Ireland have not also pushed for this. Spineless again from these FAs!!

I'm pretty certain the Welsh FA did ask to wear poppies on their shirts this weekend.

  5. To the tune of that popular Men At Work ditty...

Chris Herd comes from a land down under

lesbian hair but a right boy-wonder

and his right peg's **** thunder

he's gonna rip your shins asunder

I've been trying to make a Chris Herd song to this tune, but proving difficult

  6. I hope that we don't give Warnock another chance. He was good when he first joined but he became a liability towards the end of his first season and whenever he played last season IMO. I would call what was going to happen whenever the ball was going to be defended by him and more often than not i was right!

I would much prefer to see us buy a new LB than have to watch Warnock again.

He is not good enough so we need to get in a LB I really don't want Warnock in or around the squad, we should be offering him to anyone that'll listen.

  7. Been trying to type a post for 10 minutes I am fuming, if Lerner thinks he can't treat us like clearings in the woods he's got another thing coming. Yes we don't want him because he managed the scum but more importantly he's shit. If this goes through im done with Lerner Faulkner and the rest of the cronies

  8. General the way the media are slating the club at the moment is disgusting as well as those highlighted by Cracker1234 we should maybe think about the way Sky Sports News are allowed to attend press conferences etc at VP some of the lies coming from them are shocking.

These so called journalists are dragging our great clubs name in the mud and making us look small time!

Surely it's time for the fight back?

  9. General I really hope those involved in the appointment of our new manager realise what a catastrophic mistake it would be to appoint Mcleish. Yes obviously the fact that he managed our fiercest rivals is part of it but he's negative tactics and relegation from the Premier League show he is not we are looking for.

Please someone from the club issue a statement and put all our minds at rest, because until this is dealt with I doubt another season ticket will be sold.

  10. Hmmn well obviously this is gonna get some intense reactions etc but trying to just look at the real picture for a moment the guy has won plenty of silverware including performing the impossible in getting SHA a cup. Ok they of course got relegated bla bla bla & played very defensive football.

The thing is he said himself he had to play that style due to the strengths of his team being defensive though ideally he would like to play a more attacking style if he had the players to do so.

Also you have got to admit he has a pair of balls the size of pillows to quit & in the same breath say he would like the Villa job... That for me is what we have needed for years.. a pair of balls at the club to lead us & many on here have said we needed a strong manager... Well he is certainly that although it would be easy to allow the whiff of sha to cloud ones judgement i appreciate

If he came i would applaud his courage & the boards for that matter & support their decision.

The bit I highlighted is kinda the most important thing is it not?
