  1. Given injurys etc, well done today Alex. a good point well deserved.

Would still hope you are not the manager of AVFC come May.

It wasn't a point well deserved. It was a very lucky point and if we had been playing an inform Liverpool we would have lost this by at least 3

But we weren't, and we didn't! Why all this negativity? I think this is what has cost us 6-9 points at VP this season - people who go down wanting us to lose and say "I told you so".

I wonder if this poster was saying we came up against an inform Man City, Man U and Arsenal? I suspect not.

The negativity is because we were very lucky to even draw this game. Liverpool hit the post, could have have 3 penos and completely outplayed us.

We offered nothing in the last 60 minutes of the game and didn't even pretend to play football. We just put 11 men behind the ball and hoped to get someone in front cross/pass/shot

  2. N'Zogbia has been shit today. He was probably our worst player in the first half. Gabby has been worse in the second half but it's still not a bad decision to take N'Zogbia off.

Are you **** kidding? Are you blind? Gabby has been shit all game.. Albrighton has been shit all game.. N'Zogbia with Ireland were the only ones doing a thing all game and one gets subbed, I am happy Weimann is on but it should have been for Gabby or Albrighton.

Albrighton has been attacking their full back and getting into good positions. His final ball has been shit but he's trying.

N'Zogbia wasn't attacking players. He was getting the ball, trying a turn and then losing it or getting knocked over. He had a couple of decent passes but that's about it.

  3. He definitely shows a lot of potential but the one game he started in CM with Petrov we were destroyed by Wolves. We appeared better when Clark moved to CM with Petrov and Gradner moved to the right. Wolves main player Frimprog went off after 15 mins of the second half but even before then we were playing better in CM than in the first half.

He looks like he'll be a good player who will be great at getting into the box at the right time but at the moment I don't think he's fully ready to be playing in a CM with any of our current players. Maybe if we had a more athletic DCM than Petrov it would give him a bit more freedom but we don't so he shouldn't start. But I would like to see him used from the bench when we can.

  4. The less said about Warnock's shot the better but he had an overall decent half. A few aimless hoofs and bad play but around the 30 minute mark he played 2 balls that could have resulted in goals. One to Albrighton that resulted in a cross. And one to Bent, which if Bent hadn't messed up his control should have resulted in a goal.

Overall we've not been troubled but haven't really created many clear cut chances. I though our best chances came when we had the ball on the ground in the final third and we tried through balls and clever play. If we can do that a bit more and get Bent to give a **** we should trash them.

And hopefully we see some youngsters getting a run out in the second half.

  5. If Albrighton hadn't been subbed, most people on here wouldn't be calling him man of the match. He had an OK game up to then, better than Young but not as good as Downing.

I thought the starting line up was as good as we could expect. Herd did ok in the centre. And Baker was bad but Delph ok.

The main problem was that a lot of our attacks were going ok then ended up with Young who slowed it down and lost it or played a poor pass. He picked up a bit for about 10 minutes (at about 70 - 80 min in) when he went wide on the left but overall was very poor. We also played too many crosses straight into the hand of their keeper.

NRC was unlucky to be subbed and I thought that substitution could have cost us near the end if wolves had been more adventurous. As soon as he went off we had loads of holes at the back.

  6. well i have just come back from having to go round the **** garden centre and found we are 1-0 down.

well, if we are playing people in their correct positions then it is all down to the players

is downing on the left? alby on the right? or is it the normal obvious **** up that has cost us most points in most games since putting people in the wrong place. if they are on the correct sides i hold my hands up but i cant imagine us losing if they are in their proper positions, unless downing is on the right and gabby is being played as a midfielder again?

i better read through the threads to see if my questions have already been answered

It started Downing on the left and albrighton on the right, but we swapped after their goal and have looked like more of a threat, although that could be down to greater urgency in our play

  7. If one thing is certain in life, it is that Villa will always let you down.

We are well on course for our worst season in 5 years. We could still go down, and perhaps in this stage of the season wednesday's surrender will be looked at as the key point. That decision well and truly backfired today.

    Houllier is a cancer.

To blame Houllier for the players missing those chances is just nuts, although the buck will stop with him and people will rant saying they want him gone.

Week after week the same players who were pushing for CL fooball keep failing - how can you NOT see it is down to the Manager ???

Those same players failed at getting the champions league spot...Explain that to me?Did you watch the game? Did you see all those missed chances? How on earth you can blame Houllier for the players missing in some cases easy chances it behond me.

He put out the correct team from the players he had to choose from, set up was good attacking, but they didn't finish, that's what some of them get paid to do....Defending also, how **** hard it is to defend a corner...I understand we have 2 centre backs out who would have been playing, but the ones that were should have done a good enough job from the corners.

Explain what ? GH has turned winners into losers.

Yes I watched the Game. Yes I saw the missed chances - watch MOTD tonight and you will see lots of Teams miss chances. In the end if you miss too many and concede too many you go DOWN, and that is a definite possibility in our case. There are many reasons why a winning Team is down to the Manager and so is a losing one. We are a losing Team, a consistently losing Team, and that is down to the Manager.

You can carry on saying how many chances we make till the cows come home, but we are potentially one win off bottom - with a Team of excellent players.

    GH is the problem.

We haven't been a "winning" team since about March last year, long before GH took over
