Why do we always, and I mean always, have a new home and away shirt every season? Stupidly I thought a kit had to last 2 seasons- I guess that is wrong? Expect some critical comments and coming to a bargain bin £10 in March.

I don't know why you would think that tbh, we haven't carried over the same shirt for over 20 years now. Occasionally our away shirt becomes next seasons 3rd shirt but no club uses one home design for longer than 1 season.

    ;)

  2. I can see this going 1 of 2 ways:

    1) We struggle and get done 1 or 2 nil (the Sherwood hype was a lie)

    2) We stone cold stun them 5-1 (the Sherwood hype is magical like a unicorn)

  3. Just looked and we're currently at 11/1 to win. 33/1 if Villa win with Tekkers scoring first. Those are the worst odds I've seen all season :o

We really are the laughing stock of football.

We'll either take a pounding, or pull-off a claret & amber style fluke.

    -------------Gil----------------

    ...because why the hell bother?

Nah, put Guzan up front, like you do in FIFA for a laugh.

    At least it'd be entertaining.

  5.

Think most brummies will probably just call him Gil and pronounce it Gill lets be honest :P

    I'll just call him Carl

    This.

    Afterall... Stiliyan "Stan" Petrov ;)

Anyway, I've been waiting for ages to decide on who's going on my home shirt and I finally have my answer:

    The Sexy Spaniard! :hooray:

I'm really keen to see what happens at Arsenal now - a good test for him.

  6. Anybody going to start a sweep on when he breaks his leg?

I'm hoping he's small enough and nimble enough to avoid any major collisions

All our "major" injuries generally seem to be with taller, bulkier players. Carles seems the type to jump and jive out the way of challenges.

Of course, he could always be extremely unlucky... but ssshhhhh!

  7. I had a feeling today was the day... I nearly put a tenner on, but bottled it and only put on a couple of quid.

    Still made-up though ^_^

He's definitely bringing the other players up with him. Steadily seeing more confidence.

  8. Remember when Sanchez made his first appearance and did this...

That was his first touch of the ball and everyone got carried away saying he was a demi-god... and it turned out not so good. Now don't get me wrong, he's doing a hell of a lot better now, but he's taken time.

I think the same needs to be said for Gil. He might turn out to be excellent from the off... but let's be a little patient this time and see how things develop... because I've seen a few saying he's the "messiah" already and that's a bit daft after only 30 mins

However, I'm genuinely excited and part of me says he's going to become a Villa legend... but I'm restraining myself. Time will tell.

Well once again the fake claret & blues at West Ham get TV coverage and we get sod all.

I was really looking forward to seeing this one

You could buy a ticket and watch the game? Just a suggestion...

I would if I could! I work nights and live in Kent.

I'd have to work the night before, travel to Brum on the train, watch the game, come home and go straight back to work... making that a 36+ hour day. In fact, looking at the train times I'd actually be late getting to work after the game lol.

I love Villa, but I'm not going through that!

But the 8 minute thing relies on pretty much everybody taking part.

It would be a huge message if it happened. But it won't. Not 3-4 days before the game.

It'll end up being a few hundred people not going in for kick off, and nobody even noticing.

    This.

Already seeing many tweets and other posts saying "I'll be there for the full 90 mins."

Basically, all or nothing... or there's no point.

You're also relying on everybody being on board with the same message.

With something like ticket prices where these protests have happened before, everyone will buy into it.

I don't think, with the manager thing, that enough people would be on board with the overall message.

I know the vast majority on VT are against Lambert, but I doubt the whole Holte End is. At least not enough to mount this sort of protest.

Very true. Doesn't help that a number of Villa fans are spewing bull locks as well... "If you moan you're not a real supporter" "You're a plastic fan if you protest, you should get behind the team."

They seem to think it's acceptable for Villa to "go down fighting" and that we should all be happy about it :bang:
