  1. Titanic Brewery are in talks to take on the Pig in Lichfield - so with the Quill and Scholar (formally the Crown) due to open this month we will be back to a full house of open pubs on Tamworth Street 👌

Queens of the Stone Age at the O2 last night.

Don’t actually own any of their music but i saw them at a festival in Madrid a few years back and they put in a decent show so was more than happy to see them again

they didn’t disappoint,  we were standing about 30 rows  from  the front and soon as the first song started there was just a surge and before I knew it I was about 4 rows from the front being bounced around inside a mosh pit of hard core fans … didn’t stay in it long there’s only so many hairy topless men bouncing into me on a school night i can take , but will definitely see them again , with alcohol so I can enjoy the mosh pit and not feel my 53 years !!

Ears are still ringing , one of the loudest gigs I’ve been too in a while …

I'm going to the NEC on Sunday - saw them a few years ago at the NIA but they have stepped up a few levels since then - Glastonbury performance was tremendous

  3. Born and bred in Sutton (Good Hope), lived in Walmley for over 50 years before moving to Lichfield a couple of years ago. Sutton (100k people)is Villa land and I knew 2 Noses growing up (more Albion and more Redscouse). Lichfield is very Villa heavy (unsurprisingly mate) with a fair few Wolves and fewer Albion. Very few noses.

My family are from Aston/Hockley and Erdington originally and all Villa

Steve McLaren is supposed to be an excellent coach but his management skills didn't back it up. I dont think he has the man management skills for it

They aren't sponsors though. They manufacture the kits. They may get a certain  prestige from it, but they are essentially subcontractors.

We get paid to wear their gear. They have offered us the most end of as did Kappa and Macron before them. Whether Adidas can or can't supply us they obviously aren't currently interested or offered less.

I'm not sure what the big thing with them is, I'll always associate West Ham as the Adidas Claret and Blue club.

I've always thought New Balance kits looked decent.

Why does it matter that there is a conflict of interest? We're not obliged to tender the work.

Owner sponsorship, same issue the likes of Man City are investigated for

The brand snob in me wanted Adidas or Nike (even after the way they treated us) but we’d just be another name in their portfolio with as things currently stand.

The hipster in me wanted New Balance and initially was disappointed with Castore but now it’s announced I’m over it and at least we have someone whom will grow with us as we both bid to become bigger and more successful. Then we sign the mega bucks deal with Adidas

We will never have Adidas - conflict of interest as Nassef is a shareholder.

  8. A couple of things for me -

    1) if Russia wants Ukraine then flattening it is surely counter-productive? If they ended up getting their way they would have to rebuild it (and pay for it)?

    2) I think we are relying on the Russian people to solve this, I can't believe they want to be taken backwards 30 years without all the Western benefits they have enjoyed since?
