Has Lambert ever out thought an opposition manager? Tactics really aren't his strongest point. Yes we've won a few games on the counter but is that enough? Two teams of similar quality. Paul Lambert out-thought by Nigel Clough. Just as he was by Tony Pulis.

It did although he was our motm against Spurs in the league cup before we loaned him out. Maybe we should have played him sooner. Same with Helenius.
I think the short term loan deal did MA some good.Work ethic takes you a long way. Albrighton has really turned a lot heads since coming back from his injury. Glad he is back in the team.

Benteke's a superb centre forward who is out of form and lacking confidence. Weimann is crap and always will be.Making Weimann look like a decent player at the moment.
-
Helenius must hate Bowery/Lambert
So is Bowery, reckon he'll be on before the big DaneNo Helenius today either...
He's on the bench
-
Shame Helenius hasn't been given a start. Ideal game to play him and to play him in his favoured position, off Benteke. Must be pretty soul destroying staying on the bench and seeing the likes of Bowery and Tonev getting more game time.
-
I wouldn't worry. Bowery gets into our team and is as bad as people say.Why can't he get in the Norwich side if he's as decent as people say
He's played the past few games but from the article i read his first team action has been limited
-
Probably not but i'd quite like to know if you don't mind telling me?!HH did confirm the 2 players we were after to me. I assume he did the same with others. I didn't mention names as he asked me not to but if he's been found out would it be OK to now discuss them?
-
Yep was going to say the same thing about Bowery. He must be like Messi in training. You'd think Lambert might take an interest in how players perform in matches and then pick teams for future games based on this. Though the likes of Weimann and Bowery counter this. Helenius is an absolute must to start tomorrow. Him playing in behind Benteke for me.
not every good trainer is a good player in the games (Tonev!) and a bad trainer can have great games. He still deserves a shot regardless.Guys , the man who brought him - and see's him train on a daily basis isn't picking him.........its not rocket science is it
-
He does indeed.
Hines plays for Dagenham & Redbridge now
True. Hines is the one that stands out for me though. Have always rated him. His career has obviously gone backwards since West Ham but with his pace and dribbling he'll always be a threat
There were several players tearing us apart, Hines, Wells and their big man upfront Hanson..
Wasn't it Zavon Hines? I wouldn't mind seeing Hines come in. Incredibly fast and pretty skillful. Would cost next to nothing and would be a good impact player. Would much rather see him coming off the bench than BoweryWould love to see the young lad from Bradford City join us, Nakhi Wells. He was amazing against every BPL team inte cup matchtes last year and also tore us apart..

He played well in the 2nd half. With the game opened up he shows good vision and a good range of passing. But defensively, sitting in front of the back 4 he offers little.
-
Baker's played pretty well in last 2 games IMO
He should do, he can do no worse than Baker has done at centre back recently.Could JD play against Sheffield United?
-
This. The replay showed the ball bobble up before that shot he skied. Would have him in over Weimann all day long.Did more in 20 minutes than wiemann did all game.
-
I'd love to have half an hour with Lambert. Get him to explain some of his decisions such as the above, Bowery (!) etc. Try and find out if there's any reasoning behind them or if he is just clueless.Yes, I know it's been said for a while already. For some reason Lambert doesn't do it. He seems to think Lowton is a defenseman, period.
-
Completely agree. Been saying it for a while. Bacuna is a better defender so stick him at RB. Lowton is better creatively so should play RM or play Albrighton RM and Lowton in the middle (him and Delph playing advanced of KEA maybe) or vice versa. Why not try him in midfield? Not like our other options are so great.
-
Spot on.Baker lacks consistency, but unfortunately I think he's taking a little more stick than he deserves. Ok, he's young, he's bound to make mistakes. He has the right to make mistakes because he is human after all. I think Vlaar has a lot to do with Baker's confidence. When Baker plays along side Vlaar (as a pair or a back three regardless), he plays a lot better than he does when paired alone with Clarke.
Obviously people's opinions are going to differ, but I feel a lot more at ease when Baker's name comes up next to Vlaar on the team sheet. Aerially, I can't fault him. He wins a lot of aerial challenges, he stands up big and strong, but he's very susceptible to being caught out on the turn or with a simple through ball. He's god a way to go, but I like this lad.
-
I'd love to see it. But we're a few months too late I reckon. Is Tom Huddlestone gettable ?

I thought he played pretty well today. Looked the solid, fearless old school defender he can be. Shaun Teale style. Just needs to find some consistency.
-
Bacuna should play at RB. He's a better defender than Lowton who this season (probably due to the increasingly negative tactics) isn't able to make as much impact going forward. I'd play Lowton either RM or in CM as I think he could play there and Albrighton needs to be starting also.
-
I thought he did alright when he came on. He at least looked like he cared and got stuck in to them rather than just standing back and watching them play (Westwood).
-
I'm going with my 6 year old son. His 3rd game after Malaga and Cardiff. Kind of dreading it.
-
Doing pretty well at Derby. I'd rather see him in our team instead of Bowery, Weimann or Tonev.I highly doubt that any manager with money to spend would've gone for Simon Bleeding Dawkins.
But yeah with money to burn and relegation looming you'd look elsewhere I agree!
-
I would absolutely love to see Hoddle in charge. Brilliant coach and tactician or Lambert?Why?.......one of the best records or an England manager, master tactician, and very positive. Can't be worse than we have now surely?
